Andi and her twin sister Anna haven't had the best life. They've dreamt of the day they would escape their Guardians and finally be free. Gaai was supposed to be their fresh start. When a long lost family member appears asking for help, Andi and Anna aren't sure what to believe. Should they trust an unknown to help their people? Or is she playing a dangerous game that the twins are too naive to understand? Scylla is on the brink of war but the real enemies aren't always who they seem. When the truth comes to light, the girls must rely on themselves to regain their voices and stop a war no one can afford to fight.
Scylla (Lunar Medallion Series Book 2) by Lela Grayce was just as good as the first and has really set the stage for that freakingly amazing series. This is a continuation series, so I suggest reading the first book.
Wow, just when I thought things couldn't get better. I mean, before I get into this, have you see the cover? That's a piece of art right there, and I tell you it captures the essences of this story masterfully. -Props-
This book follows Andi and Anna, like I knew it would. I love it when series change up MC's. It adds something special and gives you different voices and different POV's on events. And this book, boy of boy, on top of all that action, magic, adventure there's a boat load of sass, witty dialogue and there's even a pirate!
God I love this series, the character and, the world it's set in. Don't get me starting on the world building and the lush rich detail, that just captures you and pulls you into this magical world. It not makes you feel like you're there, but it makes you feel like you're apart of the crew. On the advent and getting into al kinds of dangerous yet, epic situations. It has everything I love about reading and more.
I can't get enough of this story and its writing. I give it my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval. This series is a must read, and it's one to watch!
A War on the rise, Secret, Adventure, Lost Royalty, and Romance! Dive back into the Magical & Mysterious World of The Lunar Medallion Series!
Scylla plays out like a Epic Fantasy movie in UR mind Lela Grayce has created a unique and brilliant series for readers to get lost in! U feel as if UR living the story right along with Andi & Anna!
I get more addict with each book! And absolutely love all of the characters can't get enough of them! Dying for the next book already! 5 Sea Stars all the way!
Wendy and DeeDee’s story continues in the second book of the Lunar Medallion series - Scylla, however the MC’s of the are Andi and Anna this time around. With an epic battle raging, transformations, adventure, love and vast number of characters, you won’t be able to put down Scylla.
This is a truely magical series, and I can’t wait for the story to continue in the next instalment is the series.
*I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
Scylla is the second book in the Lunar Medallion series by Lela Grayce.
In Areion (book one) we learn of this hidden, magical world Gaai. In this world, there are four elemental kingdoms: Areion – Air, Scylla – Water, Therion – Earth, and Deniera – Fire. Each of the four kingdoms has a set of royal twins who were raised on Earth and brought back in hopes of defeating the evil Ethaniel, who is trying to take control of Gaai. The first book was about Areion twins Wendy and DeeDee. This second book is about Scylla twins Andi and Anna.
Andi and Anna set out with the other twins, their new friends, and their aunt to return to Scylla. Their aunt has told them that their kingdom is divided and she hopes that the return of the twins will cease the fighting and impending war. However, things do not go as planned. Kidnapping, pirates, betrayal, love — this story has it all!
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I am obsessed with these books. I was nervous about reading this book because I didn’t want to lose Wendy and DeeDee’s point of views, but they’re still a major part of the story, and I ended up loving Andi and Anna. In fact, I think Anna is my new favorite twin!
This is a fantasy series that is easy and fun to read. It holds all the great qualities of fantasy, but Lela makes it her own. With the sass and sarcasm from certain characters and pop culture references that go over the heads of those from Gaai, these books are amusing in ways often lacking in this genre. There is also incredible world building and imagination in this series.
I highly recommend these books. They are fantastic and I cannot wait for the next one to come out!
Scylla is a fantastic story filled with action, romance, humor, and so much more! It’s brilliantly written and captivating from the very first word until the last.
I couldn't put it down... heck, I didn't put it down. With every flip of the page I became more invested with the story. I kept reading until it was all over and I am in serious need of the next book.
Lela Grayce has created another perfect, detailed masterpiece that was gripping until the end.
Another great installment in this series! Scylla has a magical world, romance, and crazy plot twists but what sets it (and this series) apart for me is the inclusion of plutonic and sibling relationships. It has both and they are done very well. I love the sibling interactions and their fierce loyalty to each other as well as their strong bonds as a group. The world building is excellently detailed and the writing is well presented. I love this series (and the pop culture references) and look forward to the next book!
I found the first couple of chapters a bit difficult to get into but then the story opened up and gripped me as much as the first book did. Andi and Anna are the twins that are the main focus in this story. Being used by family and at the mercy of strangers, even one who looks like Jack Sparrow, is pretty scary for the girls. But their adventures give them courage and when it counts, they bravely do what needs to be done. Lela Grayce has plot twists and turns that I could never have guessed were coming and now I cannot wait for the next book. Excellent second book in the series.
Another exciting book in this series by the talented Lela Grayce. This time the focus is on Andi and Anna and I was really excited to read about the sisters and it was great to read Lela bring these twins to life in an interesting way!! This book is full of emotion, adventure and intrigue. It is great to still read about the characters from book one and I am excited to see what happens next! Highly recommended series.
The author really does an amazing job at bringing the world that she created to bigger and better things. I really liked Andi and Anna. Seeing them go through the ups and downs they have to deal with really made it easy to connect with them. The author is so creative when it comes to different aspects of the story that you can’t help but be sucked in. I’m a sucker for great action and the author didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to read the next one and see the next adventure. 4 stars #2OCCJD
What an amazing book. This is the next set of twins to discover and learn to control their powers to save Giann. They meet some pretty interesting characters once they escape their aunt. This is a must read. It has adventure, laughter and of course Dee's sarcastic mouth and the rest of the twins to help them along the way. Their bonds and trust in each other become stronger. I can not wait to read about the next set of twins.
I love the cover of this book!! This book concentrates on Andi and Anna’s journey as they learn about their history and the threats facing Scylla, both from external forces and internal ones. There’s the same characters from book one as well as some new interesting ones, I am hoping we get to see a whole lot more of. World building is great and the characters are developing brilliantly. Storyline moves fairly consistently with a few surprises and curves balls thrown in for good measure.
So, this is book 2 of the Lunar Medallion Series. I am seriously loving this series! The writing makes you feel like you are part of this journey with the twins. From perfect descriptions to the emotional journey Anna and Andi go through, it's perfect! I love that each book has a different pic from each twin. This series puts magic back in our lives. I can't wait to grab the next one, you will too!
Oh my soul! I didn't think the previous book, Aerion could be topped, but the author proved me wrong! Prepare for all the feels in this action-packed, powerful coming of age novel. It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but among them was surprisingly Anna. Shy and sometimes timid, she doesn't use that as an excuse, but digs down deep and completely wins me over. Also, Velkan.
I have loved this series since its start, and am looking forward to the next in this series. I love the mythological spins used within each story and have to say I didn't think of a pairing between sirens and Scylla, but it flows perfectly as though it has always been made to be put together. Amazing writing!!!
Get ready to fall in love with Wendy and DeeDee all over again. This book was full of adventures and secrets. I didn't think the first book could be topped honestly it was so good. Lela Grayce has done it again. Even her short story doesn't compare. Revisit her world of magic and wonder that just keeps getting better and better.
This is the second book in this series and follows Andi and Anna's story. It's just as good as the first book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's full of twist and turns you don't see coming and gives more insight to the characters. It's definitely a page turner and I definitely recommend this book as well as the first. I'm looking forward to the next book.
Lela Grayce will have you hooked on this adventure full of humor and some heartbreak. She has fall in love with characters and you will cheer them on through their journey. You won’t want to put it down!!! It is an absolute must read!!!
A fun read. Started right where we'd left off before and definitely makes you want to read the next one. The character development is done well and we definitely get to know these two better in this one than in the last one. Great story.
Scylla shows us a whole new part of Gaai! It still had the characters you loved from book 1 growing yet focuses on Scylla twins. You won't be disappointed, well maybe if you have patience issues because book 3 isnt out yet...
She brings you back into the story. I recommend this series to everyone. I'm not a spoiler when it comes to reviews. So I will tell you this. I love how the characters have grown. Still witty but that will never change I hope.
Throughly enjoyed this book it picks right up where the other book leaves off. Anna and Andi are the twin from Scylla when asked to help reunite their people they find out who they can trust and what they need to do to save their Kingdom. Can't wait for the next one.
Love this book from the beginning!! After reading the first Lunar Medallion Book I couldn't wait for the second book and Lela did not disappoint. Anna and Andi were amazing and there story pulls you in. Definitely can't wait for the next book ❤❤
I really enjoyed reading the book. Wendy and DeeDee find themselves in a whole new world of experiences in the second book of the Lunar Medallion series. I'd recommend this book to fans of mystical and fantasy adventure. I look forward to the next book in the set.
I'm enjoying the Lunar Medallion series immensely. Anna and Andi meet challenge after challenge head on, and do a lot of personal growing in the process. The extended epilogue answered some questions. I love epilogues!
I loved the first in the series and wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the second with it being from a different POV but I loved Andi and Anna's view on things, and I really enjoyed finding out about their story, and how they got to where they are. I cant wait to read the next one!
Wow this was an amazing story. I loved learning more about Andi and Anna. I feel like they blend in to the group really well and I loved the fact that you can see the characters really grow into their own compared to the 1st book. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
Well this book was kind of hard for me to stay with for the first couple of chapters. Maybe it was just me but it just wasn’t catching me. THEN, after that, I really enjoyed it. I’m actually looking forward to the next book.
