I'm taking it this short is set in the Med, or Aegean, off the Greek islands where neirids live in the sea. The returning sister finds her palace crumbled since she left, gold flaking away, her sisters indolent and selfish. Life has changed in the years since the age of heroes. Can one neirid be enough of a hero for today?

I enjoyed the well described fantasy and I think it serves very well as a prequel, bridging the gap between those who have read a series and those who have not. I would look forward to the first full book length tale.
