Ingela P. Arrhenius

Art and design has always played a big part of Ingela’s life and before her career as an illustrator took off Ingela worked as an art director in Stockholm.
Ingela then moved on to study advertising and graphic design at an art school in Stockholm,
In 1992 Ingela set up her own business as a freelance illustrator working on an international level cross advertising, design, publishing and editorial work.
She’s been commissioned for creating print patterns for fabrics, wallpaper, stationary aswell as packaging, product design, home accessories and toys.
Ingela’s posters and designer toys are spread all around the world. She’s passionate about retro style in general which is clearly reflected in her work as well as her joy for typography and colour.
She lives in Stockholm with husband and two boys.

Perfect for toddlers! My son requires to "read" this book multiple times per day and he adores the hidden mirror at the end. Kudos to creators for this awesome idea.

October 2019 - the felt flaps feel a little sturdier than cardboard ones, and the mirror on the last page is a delight to babies. A bonus is that the felt flaps mean the cardboard pages don't stick together, and my 10 month old can turn the pages by herself (her favorite part about reading).

Premise/plot: Where's The Duck is a lift-the-flap book featuring felt flaps. It is also a hide-and-seek book. Little ones can "find" all the creatures--animals--that are "hiding." The last spread asks "Where are you?" and features a mirror hidden behind a flap.
My thoughts: I like hide-and-seek books. There is just something happy about the formula. Little ones seem to really enjoy it. And their joy is contagious. Little ones also tend to like mirrors. So this one is definitely one worth sharing with the little ones in your life.

I have read this book probably 10,000 times because it’s my son’s favorite. I like that the peekaboo flaps are made of felt, so my overeager toddler hasn’t been able to damage them.

April 12, 2022El libro “Where is Mr Duck” me parece de mediana calidad. La autora crea un contenido entretenido y didáctico tapando algunas imágenes dejando al lector intrigado invitándolo a averiguar qué hay detrás de ese pedazo de genero que tapa la imagen, contiene variedad de materiales, es decir texturas al momento de la lectura. Ahora bien, el libro no despierta en un 100% la curiosidad de los lectores, ya que “Ingela P. Arrhenius” no se preocupa de la inteligencia de sus lectores, si no que al contrario a pesar de ser un libro entretenido tiene un contenido básico, por ejemplo, preguntando constantemente “where is…”. El libro no cuenta una historia, no sigue un hilo conductor, lo cual no les permite a los niños a crear imaginación en la lectura.

Oh my god! Wat een geweldig boekje! Ik ben fan van Ingela, van alles dat ze maakt, maar dit boekje springt er qua schattigheid echt bovenuit hoor!
Het is een buggyboekje (met een handige bevestigingsband), voor de allerkleinsten dus. Ze gaan op zoek naar diertjes én zichzelf. De dieren zitten verborgen achter een vilten flapje. En er is zelfs een spiegeltje verstopt, om te weten waarom moet je dit boekje zelf kopen :)
De tekeningen zijn enorm schattig, de kleuren spatten vrolijk van het papier; een echte Arrhenius dus. Tovert gegarandeerd een glimlach op jonge én oude gezichten. Ook een ideaal geschenkje om per post te versturen want hoewel het stevig is is het ook klein én licht! Fan!

My baby loves this book. It's size made it the first book she could handle for herself. It's a very simple book, but the simplicity makes it great for babies.

My boy enjoys this one, the felt flaps are easier for him than cardboard ones (and less liable to creasing), and the mirror at the end is a nice touch that gives him plenty of joy!

Geriausia pirmoji knygelė iš visų, kokias turėjome! Sakoma, kad kai kūdikis judina pirkštukus, jis lavina protą, todėl, matyt, tai šiose knygelėse, skirtose patiems mažiausiems, ir įvertinta. "Kur ančiukas" - po medžiaginėmis spalvotomis skiautėmis slepiasi gyvūnai, tai skatina mažylio smalsumo ir suprasti, kad pakėlus medžiagytę, gali kažką rasti. Labai gražios spalvos, knygutė neperkrauta, kaip tik tokiam mažam vaikučiui, sakyčiau nuo trijų mėnesių iki metukų su puse.
Labai džiaugiuosi, kad dukrytė gali turėti savo knygeles ir užsiimti jomis su mama ar tėčiu, o kartais pati viena. Tas ramybės minutes aš kaip mama tikrai labai vertinu :) Be to, liks labiau apsaugotos mamos ir brolio knygos, kurias labai mėgsta imti ir vartyti, tik jos dažnai nuo to vartymo nukenčia. Kūdikių knygelės storos ir apsaugotos nuo greito plyšimo. Aš manau, kad knygų vaikų kambaryje turėtų būti daugiau nei žaislų, bent mes investuojame kur kas daugiau į knygas nei žaislus, nes tikim, kad jie lavina labiau ir vertė išlieka ilgiau. Juolab, kad sūnaus patirtis rodo, kad žaislas įdomus būdavo tik vieną dieną. Matome, kad su dukryte panašiai- reikia visko, tik ne žaislų, geriau pultas, medinis šaukštas, knyga, puodelis...

My 8-month-old freaking LOVES this. I mean, he physically goes nuts every time we open it and he pulls down a flap. Already on the 236th "reading". I wish I could find someone who loves me as much as he loves this book.
