Finalmente! Finalmente um livro pra me tirar dessa má fase literária onde NADA chamava a minha atenção.
Esta história era tudo o que eu precisava, tudo o que eu queria e de quebra, matou minha vontade de ler um romance com militar.

Eu adorei a Emilie e Hayden, principalmente a faixa etária dos dois. Ambos marcados pela dor e cada um à sua maneira tentando superar os traumas que viveram... Duas pessoas de mundos diferentes, mas que juntos fizeram sentido.

Eu gostei de como o relacionamento deles foi desenvolvido e a forma como a autora conduziu isso. Eu adorei também todos os personagens secundários. Cada um teve o seu destaque, mesmo que brevemente.

Eu fiquei tão presa à história que quando dei por mim, estava em lágrimas e meu coração em cacos. A tensão, emoção e dor que determinadas cenas continham foi tão e real impactante... simplesmente impossível não sentir, não se emocionar. Acho que chorei todas as lágrimas reprimidas de leituras passadas...

False Perceptions no geral, foi uma leitura ótima, envolvente e marcante. Fui cativada desde a primeira página e não consegui parar por muito tempo a leitura enquanto não chegasse ao fim. Valeu super a pena e eu adorei! *Mesmo dormindo e acordando com os olhos inchados lol*

FALSE PERCEPTIONS: Is a full length romance novel by ’Michelle Heard’ Spoken in ‘Multiple Perspectives - briefly’ In this we meet Emilie & Hayden Cole.

This book is full of action, love, romance, death, corruption you name it, every box will be ticked.

The first opening chapter we’re introduced to forty-one year old Emilie with one divorce already under her belt, we witness her shutting the door on another chapter in her life, with another divorce looming right around the corner as she hands over her wedding ring and goes and stays at her father’s who is running for Senator until something suitable comes up.

Emilie and her father do not get on, though that's not on her shoulders, he's just another man in her life that has let her down, made her question humanity. Because if your own father doesn't love you who will?



Attending her fathers rally as she's jumping into her car she's rear ended by a big SUV, things take a turn for the worst when she realises she's been kidnapped, this is where Hayden and his band of brothers go in on a simple mission to bring her safely home.

I have zero faith in humanity. Except for my five Navy Seals. I'll never trust another human being again.

Hayden has been pulled in for a six month long mission to go in as undercover protection for Emilie as she's refusing protection from her father.

When these two meet properly under such different circumstances to the last time, both aren't the same as they were, both are carrying such profound sadness within their souls.

A slow burn romance with all the feels, so beautifully written, 'False Perceptions' is definitely one of those unputdownable books, it's unique and completely unpredictable in every sense. This is definitely not a run of the mill ordinary romance. It's insanely addictive and intensely consuming.

I started this last night at 9pm and finished it at 1am I am not wide awake and bushy tailed!!
Go into this blind, don't read reviews, just expect to be slayed, slayed by this authors words, slayed by the emotional turmoil this authors characters will put you through, no band aide will cover the breaking of your heart, I cried my eyes out, snotty nosed and fucked up eyes, I was gutted, but I couldn't stop myself from racing through the pages to find out the outcome for these characters that were left standing.
Finally I was able to lay my head down and sleep, happy with how it ended, in love with these characters, I highly recommend this book, just one word of advice - Tissues will be required..

It's not often that a book sends me over the edge like this one did. I was legit sobbing like a baby at 2am trying to put this book so I could finally sleep. Newsflash....I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what happened next!

It's action-packed, fast paced, and an absolute emotional read. Trust me! All the feels were felt. I laughed. I cried. I threatened to throw my kindle. But most of all, I enjoyed myself!

Was it perfect! Nah, very few things are. I had some ticky issues with transitions, one of the sexy scenes, and a minor snit with one of the characters. Guess what....in the long run, it meant nothing because I fracking loved this story! It reads like the author poured her heart and soul onto the pages and I literally could not get enough. Even after the final page was turned, I wanted more. That's really all that matters, right?

I wanted to be entertained and the author delivered! 4.5 "Flying with my Eagle" Stars!!

I will forever remember this story. This journey between Hayden and Emilie. Two people, two strangers, living normal lives, going about their own business. I found myself wanting so very badly to jump right into this book and save her myself. It was only when I realized that would never happen, I cried some more.

Hayden Cole is a Navy Seal. A man on a mission. An honorable man who serves alongside his team. A band of brothers who he considers his closest friends, his family. Their strong bond is unbreakable and their loyalty is unwavering. Together they serve on dangerous missions, risking their lives to save lives.

Hayden is also a father trying to get to know his daughter Evie after 26 years. Why 26 years? How did he find out about Evie? I’m not telling…… Now there’s a wedding in Evie’s future and Hayden is preparing for his role as father of the bride. A role he’s proud to take on.

Then Hayden is suddenly called into action along with his team members, Dave Slater- Hayden’s best friend, Max Perry, Axel Harrison & Mike Warren. Not far from her heart and mind are “Her Men”. The 5 men who saved her life. One in particular is Eagle (Hayden). The one who told her “It’s okay, I’ve got you…your safe now”. She hopes one day to be able to meet these men and thank them for what they did for her.

Meanwhile, Hayden and is team are sent back out on what was supposed to be a relatively easy mission but turned out to be anything but.

The fallout from that mission will forever alter the course of Hayden’s life and the lives of his team members; Mike, Max, Dave and Axel. Loss of epic proportions leave behind anguish, sorrow, guilt and so much pain. Lives are forever changed, forever destroyed, and “forever” takes on a whole new meaning.

Hayden suspects who was behind Emilie’s kidnapping and that her life is still in danger. What happens when he tells her? What will she do? Will she trust him with her life? Or will she run again?

Danger is fast approaching. Unspeakable betrayal. It’s an epic showdown between the enemy and a woman whose bravery can’t be measured.

When the dust settles, both Hayden & Emilie come to except the truly devastating and painful past and push through that pain and find healing on the other side.

Hayden lets go of the guilt. He’s able to forge ahead where he discovers, unexpectedly, that this woman, his final mission, in turn, saved him as well.

Now, when he looks back on the painful memories of that mission, he remembers his fallen brothers, his family, with admiration and awe. Remembers their united bravery and sacrifice with honor and pride and remembers his friends with love, laughter and loyalty.

His heart is also filled with undying gratitude. Gratitude towards his team for the successful mission on that day not that long ago, when they saved a woman, “the” woman, “his” woman who now owned his heart. His future is forever changed, forever cemented, forever brighter and forever filled with love……

Emilie is an earthbound angel and Hayden is heaven on earth. Both have wings that are broken. When all seems lost, they find each other, find strength in one another, heal each other and love each other. Together, they mend what’s broken in each other. They find courage, love again and fly together.

What I really enjoyed was how the author wrote this poignant story. There was no lag time, no filler parts interjected until another main even happened. The author took the time to write about each and every character in detail. Presenting them in a way where the reader gets to see how they think and feel. We get to learn about their individual personalities and watch through their eyes. Even at the worst of times you felt like you were right there with them. I honestly found myself wishing these characters were my friends (well not the bad guys). So much about False Perceptions struck a deep and meaningful chord with me. I want to list them all but I can’t spoil it. I’m giving too much away as it is.

Some of my favorite lines in the story were spoken by Emilie:

“A real smile settles on my face. At least I took everything Robert loved. Hell, I even took the toilet paper. He can wipe his ass with our wedding photos….”

My favorite parts of this book involve a nursery, a delivery, a horse with a sweet tooth, a picture frame, 3 punches and Rhett’s gifts at church.

I was overjoyed that Miss Sebastian (who happens to be my favorite all time supporting character) made an appearance in this story, just as I was with seeing the “gang” all together again and coming full circle.

One of the most gut wrenching scenes in this book, and let me tell you there were plenty, was when Hayden and Max share in their sorrow together. Yup, I was reaching for the near empty tissue box..... Again!

False Perceptions is so jam packed with high octane “feels” and adrenaline packed action that I could not keep my emotions in check. This book gave me full on body chills, heart palpitations and many heartfelt ugly cries. It also delivers some humor when you least expect it but are in need of a laugh or two.

False Perceptions delivers an ending that will have your heart soaring across the sky. Just like an eagle does.

I absolutely love this authors stories. Each story I read I think it's my favourite of hers so far. Then I read another that blows my mind and is my new favourite. False Perception is now my new favourite.

I was so happy to hear that this was going to be a military romance. I love this genre and this was so much more. I inhaled this read. Like seriously how was I meant to put it down. The characters are brilliant , the storyline is gripping. This story deserves five stars plus many more.

I had so many feels reading this story. I'd be smiling one minute and the next I was holding back the tears. It's just that kinda read.

Can't wait to see the author writing my next favourite read.

"Hell was the last place I expected to find an angel"



Firstly, I love that this book follows Evie and Rhett's story Shameless and you actually get to see them tie the knot in Hayden and Emilie's story.

False perceptions drew me in from the start, I had complete sympathy for Evie who had a cheating husband, a failed marriage previous to that and a father who was running for the presidency and treated Emilie like dirt, a rubbing rag, a puppet to help him with his campaign.

When Emilie is taken, kidnapped, locked away and tortured for information about her father, Hayden who is a Navy Seal and his team are sent to rescue her.

Emilie only knows the names of her hero's when she is rescued because she is half conscious through starvation and she knows them as Eagle, Falcon, Owl and Hawk, men who risked their lives to save her.
Following her ordeal Emilie turns her back on her father and his campaign and with a new outlook on life moves away to a tiny town to rebuild her life but never forgets her heros's especially Eagle who was the one who carried her, reassured her and is the one who visits her in her dreams, his voice is the one that soothes her in her nightmares.

Hayden and his men are shortly sent on another mission and this is where my heart ached for these men, I think I spent 20% of it in tears.

Emile and Hayden find each other again but the road to their happiness is not without heartbreak and loss.

There's further twists and turns as the plot progressed and I was captivated.

A moving and tragic story, a story of fate and unfortunate events, a story of true Heroism.

58 chapters and I was engrossed in each and every one of them.

A book that deserves as much honour as the heroes within it, I loved it.

5 Star ... an emotional and thrilling romance...

I love stories about courageous men and brave women and False Perceptions has both of these types in plenty..This is a suspenseful, action packed, bittersweet romance with two individuals at its heart who have encountered more than their fair share of hurt...

Emilie is a strong and vibrant heroine..she experiences betrayal as well as physical and mental harm and yet she remains resilient and kick***, regardless...and then there is Hayden a battle hardened Navy SEAL who, by the very nature of his work, faces trauma and loss..their path to each other is filled with self-doubt and second-guesses... a slow burning love story with perfect chemistry...but the strength of this story lies not only with Emilie and Hayden; there are so many well written and fascinating secondary characters...I feel disloyal to name any in particular, because they all add something extra, but Hayden’s band of Navy SEAL ‘brothers’ are everything they should be, : strong, brave and their camaraderie and banter adds moments of lightness even in the darkest of times... Max in particular is such a wonderfully described individual...

This is an emotional story and there are some very touching and downright heartbreaking moments; but there are also some very funny moments, and some sweet moments, and some hot and steamy moments ...something for everyone no matter the readers preference.. the author has created a vivid and captivating world and populated it with relatable and believable characters...I was hooked from the very first chapter and completely engrossed until the very last page....I received an advanced copy of this book from the author..

False Perceptions was another Michelle Heard hit. It was deeply touching and emotional with the perfect amount of grit, realness and a fabulous slow burn romance. I could not get enough of Emilie and Hayden and their story. The hero and heroine were perfect for one another and I could not turn the pages fast enough.

This novel was a tough one as it dealt with very real and terrifying occurrences. Emilie's story was absolutely heartbreaking and yet I could not turn away from it. Her strength was admirable as was her will to survive. She was determined to live and an absolute joy to read. Likewise, Hayden and his band of brothers were amazing. I held my breath at times because the tension and suspense was palpable.

Overall, I really loved their story and cannot wait for more in this series! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

"I'm falling for this man. Is it the confidence he wears like a second skin? The fierceness in his eyes? The brute strength in his body? Everything about him lures me in."

Kudos to the Author for drawing me in and having me so invested in these characters so quickly that I became a sobbing mess throughout this story. Heart-crushing emotion, the beauty of survival, picking up the pieces, and finding true love when you least expect it, the whole story was a journey that I couldn't put down. The characters were utterly lovable and you felt as if this happened to someone you knew. It really was an experience.

"I love and hate being in his arms. It's the only time I feel safe, but it also means he has the power to hurt me."

Filled with action, drama, suspense, laughs, tears, and a roller coaster in between, I eagerly inhaled each word. A really well done military romance that kept me in its clutches and took my breath away. I so can't wait for more from these characters and thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Wow. I wasn't sure what to expect when I dove in but I loved that this book connected to the author's previous series. This was different than anything I've ever read by this author and I loved it. It was such a beautiful story, full of love, of heartache and grief and self-discovery. It's a book that will show you your worth. My heart cried out in love for the characters and I couldn't read it fast enough. I legit screamed when I turned the page and it was over. Hayden and Emilie's story, despite falling for each other instantly, the journey it took for them to be there was so beautiful. Definitely a book worth buying!

I saw the cover and I fell in love then I read the synopsis and I knew I needed to read it. I really knew nothing about the story I purposely avoided teasers so I didn't get any clues, I love surprises.

The author has written two very strong very different characters. Hayden the tough Navy Seal and Emilie the politicians daughter both are compelling and they pulled me in wanting to know everything about them. They meet in stressful dangerous circumstances that had me clinging to the edge of my seat. This is an integral part of the story so to know what it is buy the book.

Although there are other players in the book essentially it's about the main characters. I loved their relationship it evolved at a natural pace. They curcjr each other at the start but a connection and the chemistry cannot be denied it leaps off every page.


This is a very varied book, there are some scenes that just broke me, I had my hand over my heart to try and keep the emotions in because they wanted to bust out my chest.

I have to say the author surpassed my expectations of this book it's worth more than the five stars I can give.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review. Michelle Heard has been a go to author for me for quite some time now so obviously I love her writing, but False Perceptions has to be hands down the best book she’s written yet! It’s like she unleashed an entirely new depth with a whole new level of talent in this book. Is there a word for being more than blown away? If there is, that’s how I feel after reading this. False Perceptions is powerfully emotional, flawlessly written, and contains an incredible love story.
I’ll tell you now you’ll need tissues in bulk for this one. I more than ugly cried while reading this. Michelle’s writing brings these characters, every last one of them, to life in a way that makes you feel like you really know them and all that they go through will hit you as hard as if you were right there by their sides. I thought she’d hit me in the feels with previous books, but none of that holds a candle to what this book did to me. False Perceptions is the kind of book you find yourself totally lost in. Nothing else was even on my radar while I was reading this. Food? Nah, who needs nutrition? Water? Nah, I’ll just continue to dehydrate. Adult responsibilities? Never heard of ‘em! All I could focus on was the beauty written on the pages of this book.
Hayden was someone who’s story I desperately wanted ever since Evie found him. He seemed like an incredible man then, but nothing could have prepared me for the true hero he really is. The bravest of the brave and with a strength I can only begin to imagine, I think I fell as hard for him as Emilie did. Emilie herself is exactly the woman Hayden needed in his life. Stronger than she realizes, beautiful inside and out, she was a joy to read. The love that blooms between these two is nothing short of magnificent. The light in the darkness for each other these two have a romance that will stick with you long after you’ve finished reading and leave you yearning to go back and read their story all over again!

FALSE PERCEPTIONS by Michelle Heard is a military romance that details Emilie and Hayden’s emotionally gripping story. This novel deals with very real and terrifying situations. Emilie is a strong and independent heroine. The things she went thru like betrayal, heartache, heartbreak, along with physical and mental harm and yet still bounce back with this tougher shell, is amazing. Then we have Hayden, who is a battle weary and hardened Navy SEAL just looking for peace from the traumas of the world. How they end up meeting and then connecting will blow your mind. This is an emotional rollercoaster ride of emotions – there are some deeply touching moments and also some very heartbreaking moments in this story. The author has written such a story that will move you, touch you in places and leave you on the edge as you read Emilie and Hayden’s love story. I do not want to give any spoilers away so I have kept this review spoiler free. I was hooked from page one and couldn’t stop reading until the last word on the last page. What an amazing romantic suspense read and is a must read!!!!

If your a fan of Michelle Heard then you've already met Hayden. You may not realize it yet. I didnt. He's Evie's Dad, from Shameless. (Haven't read those, start with Heartless). And no, you don't have to read those to follow this. This is a whole NEW series.

When we first meet Emile, her life, well kinda sucks! It doesn't get much better. That is until one super hot Navy Seal comes to her aide. One Mr. Hayden Cole. (Take a moment to swoon)

She's been through allot. Lived an unappreciated life for awhile. Hiding out seems like the thing to do. Only problem is nightmares follow you wherever you go. That is until Hayden walks back into her life.

His life hasn't been a picnic either. In life or love. Relationships are difficult at best. Trusting someone with your heart is never easy.

But together they find that sometimes the most dangerous people are the ones you trust the most.

Now normally, I'm NOT a big military romance kinda gal. To be honest, I wasn't sure I'd like this, but that was before I turned the page. You can't help but be drawn in. Emilie and Hayden's story is about finding yourself. About letting yourself fall, and trusting that someone will be there to catch you.

I loved it! And I cannot wait for Max's story!!!!

There are so many things I love about False Perceptions.
I love that the couple is in there forties.
Love,romance and new beginnings aren’t just for twenty something year olds.
I love that it’s based around Navy Seals.
Men of honor and courage and loyalty to country are the sexiest.
I love that the heroine never showed weakness even when she’s scared to death.
Strong men need strong ladies.
This book has great characters,a pulling storyline and plot.
It’s filled with drama,suspense,love,loss and hope.
It had intense moments,scenes that are devastating and parts that are heartwarming.
The characters are outstanding!
I loved Hayden and loved the surprise Ms. Heard had for the readers about him!
Hayden is everything a good man encompasses. Plus he’s a wonderful father.
Emilie is an amazing woman. She’s had a hard life and kept standing tall.
Hayden and Emilie are the perfect match for each other if fate gives them a chance and their enemies leave them alone.
Outstanding book!
Very emotional so keep tissue close by.

I just was so enthralled with the characters and story line. It was so well written and holds you until you can't put it down. I was surprised, because I thought it was a coincidence, then put two and two together, by the couple from another series, but made the story so special with the addition.
I Loved It. At this point, I'm going to attempt to write a review without giving too much away.
Emile is at the end of her second marriage. Now she has packed everything and is waiting for the movers to load the last box. When she walks out of the house the only thing left to take is his Audi. Yes, she is taking it also. But he got the house.
Her father is running for President and she's expected to be his pawn and he hates me. She's to meet with him for a rally and stand at his side. When it's over she's kidnapped in the parking lot, drugged and taken to somewhere to be tortured.
A Navy Seal team is called to duty and they are to bring her back safely. But she doesn't stay...

If you've read the authors Enemies to Lovers series you may recall Hayden. This is his story.
Generally I can tell within a few chapters just how much I'm going to enjoy a book, this one had me by the end of chapter 2. I fell head first for each and every character from Hayden and Em to Peanut & Jelly, each one full of their own brand of sass that you can't help but smile at.
False Perceptions is a military book, Hayden being a SEAL but that's not the only focus. Em & Hayden's story is one of trust, healing and heartbreak.
I full blown ugly cried reading this book, the loss is heart wrenching, I couldn't stop the tears, trying to clear my eyes to get through the next paragraph.
But the beauty of what comes after is what will steal your breath, bring a smile to your face and leave you with a serene feeling seeing what can come from tragedy.

I thoroughly enjoyed each and every chapter of this book. The characters we only got to see for a short time, the ones from books past and the sparkle Miss Sebastian brings to everything all came together to make this one of my favorite reads.

Well, I’ve got to say, it’s refreshing reading a book with a hero in his 40s, it’s a welcome change for a more mature woman like myself to be lusting after someone in a more suitable age bracket (haha). What a hero Hayden Cole is (his name is even Swoonworthy), he’s humble, honest, trustworthy, sexy, and a bad@$$ all rolled into one. Perfect in my eyes. As the dad of Evie from Shameless it’s not my first run in with him and his heroic buddies, it is however, the first time I’ve met poor dejected Emilie Swanson, beaten down by her bitter ex husband and her heartless father. I so enjoyed reading Emelie and Hayden’s story, it was exciting, it was sad, my heart was so full of different emotions with each scenario. I learned to expect the unexpected. Wonderful characters, I’m so looking forward to seeing where Max’s story takes us. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

Amazing

It book is truly amazing. Make sure you have a box of tissues ready. This book literally broke me then put me back together again slowly. A fantastic story of heartbreak, betrayal, true love and family. Haydon and Emilie are amazing they made me laugh and cry. I loved seeing a glimpse of the characters from Enemies to Lovers novel series. I now have a serious book hangover. I can't wait for True Perceptions. I honestly can't recommend this book enough. A definite must read!

This story kept me on my toes. And damn, sometimes it just killed me. This story made me all tearful and my heart to crack. This story is so touching your emotions. I can even say a soul? Because for sure it have all the feels. Was I okay at the end? I'm not sure. You can say it ended on a good note, but my heart was still aching and remembering. And maybe that's how it must to be. Moving on, enjoying each day, but remembering.

This was the first book by Michelle that I had the pleasure of reading, it defiantly won't be the last that is for sure. I was intrigued to read this after seeing the blurb, that intrigue continued as I was captive to this book. I loved that the couple in the story aren't the traditional. I felt deeply while reading it. I can't wait to see what comes next from this author.

If you have a love for military men then this book is for you but be warned Hayden Cole will be making your panties wet!!
Hayden Cole was a part of a mission to save Emilie Swanson, the senator's daughter from kidnappers but that's not the end of the story!
For me this story was everything from the beginning to the very end and most of all one of the best story from this author!

Heartbreaking, and beautifully written story. This is my first book by this author and will not be my last. This tale ripped out all my heartstrings, and somehow mended them by the end of the book. The Navy SEALS don't get enough recognition for how often they lay their lives on the line. Even though this isn't a true story, the brotherhood and the honor in the characters feels very real. Incredibly well written, I'm excited for the next book to come out.

Sssooo good! I loved this book. A new favorite for me. Don’t be fooled though. It is a tear jerker! It may make you ugly cry! Lol. This book literally had a little bit of everything. It kept you hooked and wanting to keep reading. I love Em and Hayden! They were awesome together. I need me a Hayden of my own! Great book with an equally as great ending. Definitely recommend this for a read!

Best book from this author yet! A must read for any Michelle Heard fans. Shares some characters from the Screw Crew books, but is mainly about Hayden (Evie’s Navy Seal Dad) and Emilie and the traumas they both have to face before getting their HEA. Looking forward to Max and Gab’s story.
