From Writer's Digest: "Spitfire Ringers is a World War II adventure story of the bravery of two young American pilots--and the dangers they face fighting in war-torn England and France. It (has) an authentic feel that also made for enjoyable reading. Though the war brought with it incredible devastation, there was also a great deal of hope and love infused throughout the story... The details about the Spitfire planes and of the politics and events surrounding World War II were meticulously detailed, accurate, and easy for readers to digest, while still moving the story forward. I also liked that Dylan and Payton had this wholesome, “boys next door” way about them, which makes them more likable and relatable for a reader than if they were tough, war-hardened soldiers." - Judge, 27th Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards.

Fantastic first book. A must read for WWII historical fiction readers
I was very surprised in learning this was the first book writt by Ian. There are few and minor editorial errors. But every team, even the Dodgers, make occasional mistakes. His cast of characters are easily followed and they all contribute to the story without being a distraction. His timing and blending of historical events keeps the story moving There is little to no wasted words to distract from the action and events. He keeps the language clean and proper at all times and expresses close relationships in a gentlemanly manner. I was impressed with his style, story line, and sub-plots. I look forward to additional books and will gladly read them all. I believe others will agree and will be delighted in having his books to read.
From America's reluctance to enter the war with Nazi Germany, into the Battle of Britain, "Spitfire Ringers" follows the journey of a pair of twins, who upon graduatig from West Point, seek to join the forces that are already fighting the Nazi onslaught in France. Despite all odds, they seek their destinies in combat in the skies above what becomes, Occupied Europe.
A great book, wrapped in history, and a wonderful read. I can only hope that Ian Lindsey is nearly finished with Volume 2 of Ringers Series... He's a great writer, well able to spin a great yarn.
Five out of Five Stars, and YES, I do recommend this book who like the time and the genre...
Better than most books on this area of WWII . Thought-provoking and filled with a view of many disparate elements within society. While the author spends more space and time on romance the extraneous material is use to enhance the characteristics of the principle protagonists. Also used to find in other players as well as making believable some of the actions of the hero's within the his t historic social culture. A good page after page engagement of the reader. Good job.
I used to read adventure stories like this when I was child, this falls in that category. Implausible situations, trite dialogue, cliches galore. Definitely not for adults with even a modicum of intelligence. Cancelled it out after the first couple of chapters.
The book was well written. It kept my attention throughout. The only thing I would change is the ending. Did the brothers end up marrying their ladies.
The whole premise is absurd and inaccurate The notion that the King and Lord Dowding were this available is nonsense The final blow of awarding the VC is ludicrous
