Having conversations with people who enhance your world view always excited me. This books weaves in such a conversation between protagonists and this leads to some great discussions and you are with them making your points. This needs to be read every year to make you believe in unbelievable.
End of Week 17: Book📖17 Completed✌️: What You Seek is Seeking You by – Brain Tracy & Azim Jamal #Read2lead #myread4change
The book is about the story of two strangers who meet at the airport. The CEO and an Artist happened to share table at airport cafe while waiting for flight and soon normal conversation turns in to how fear hinders exploring and living life to the fullest and people hesitate to be themselves to be liked, even though being authentic is the heart of long term success and meaningful relationship.
Really like this paragraph about coming to Awareness of Self -
You are the sole creator and owner of your opinions, beliefs, likes or dislikes. If you like something, and that makes sense to you, you accept it. If not, you ignore it. There is no need for somebody else to agree or validate your opinion. You are free essentially free, once you realize it.
Authors claim though this meeting of to be Sufi an artist and CEO more than coincidence. We often attract what we focus on and many coincidence good or bad is directing us in our desired direction directly or indirectly. As Albert Einstein puts it. “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous”.
Few 🔑Takeaways from the Book –
• Stay tuned to coincidences as they always push us in our desired direction. We may not like certain situation and yet we should look for what is that trying to tell us? • When unwanted changes happen look beyond them and see the opportunity they might contain. • Awareness is achieved through active listening – listening with your eyes, ears and heart. Give your undivided attention and remain non-judgmental.
Quotes📌 I liked from the book –
• Attention is our greatest asset. We all invariably attract what we give attention to. • Awareness is the starting point of every quest and the outcome of every journey. • EVERYTHING given in this life is given as a gift. When it’s gone, it’s a good memory to be grateful for. It was never really yours. • You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. - Khalil Gibran • Life is what happens to us while we’re busy making other plans. – John Lennon • The wound is the place where light enters you – Rumi
"There is no need for somebody else to agree or validate your opinion. You are essentially free, once you realize it". This is the essence of this book that is more in the form of conversation between the chief protagonists and the conversation that the author enters into with its readers. This makes the book pretty engaging. There are many books written on the subject but this one is different. It drives home points, in simple language, that might otherwise appear to be esoteric. There are few gems in the book that flow from the one quoted above : "Once you believe you have the freedom to pursue your own truth, you have to, by the same logic, give that latitude to everybody else as well". The book is full of optimism : "when unwanted changes happen, look beyond them and see the opportunity they might contain". It is not a question of how important is the work you are doing "whether you are writing a novel or preparing tea, both can be creative. As long as you do it with love, grace and gratitude". And finally, "Charisma is good, but charisma without authenticity is dangerous". A book worth reading and practicing
This is more of the usual self help books but set in the background of SUFISM ideologies and Turkish backdrop. It was an extremely pleasureful read indeed! It was good to know Rumi, the Sema dance and its concepts and all were awesome. Having travelled to turkey and the trip starting from India I could visualise the whole book like a movie and I just loved the sincerity in writing. Was pleasant surprise to know that the book is written with contributions and support from more than 3 writers. It’s a good creation and I would recommend if you need a smooth read.
surprisingly breezy read for a non fiction book ... also the writing doesn't have the preachy undertone ... plus having a fictional tale makes it relatable to understand the life philosophies ....
A gripping and catchy story. I read and liked the total but have just a single objection to the input that Mevlana Rumi was a Persian (or Iranian) Sufi. Although his teachings are much more important than his nationality to me, he is widely believed to have Turkish origin.
Most experts agree that Mevlânâ is a disintegrable component of Anatolian literature. Mevlânâ Celaleddin Rûmî was primarily a member of the Seljuk State. Although the daily spoken language in the Seljuk lands was Turkish in the 12th century, in the 19th century, the prevalent language in science was Arabic, while Persian in literature. If scholars wanted their works to be disseminated widely, they had to write in Persian.
Ultimately, Mevlânâ wrote works in Persian due to the facts that the official language of the Seljuk Palace was Persian, that Mevlânâ addressed an elite and intellectual group in his literary works, and that Persian was a rich language in terms of poetic and literary expression which would enable him to reach a wider range of people.

Beautiful book which takes the reader through different incidents of two characters and their interaction with each other, each short story ends with summary of the learning we get and ways to implement the same in your personal as well as professional life.
Recommend to go through this book slowly and feel each learning. A must read for achieving a successful and happy life.
