"We were going to face down the darkness together. We were going to set the world on fire."

"I was running out of time."Freaks picks up directly after the nail biting cliffy in Nasty. Fix is on a mission to protect Sera. He will do whatever it takes to identify the individual that wants her dead. Fix is a ruthless assassin and paired with Sera they become an unstoppable force. The stakes are high for Sera and Fix to eliminate their enemies and find long lasting love together.

"I'm in love with you, Angel.Told in dual POV, Freaks contains all of the elements of a perfect storm. The intensity of the plot paired with the passionate connection between Sera and Fix makes this trilogy an absolute must-read. The characters are complex and the circumstances in which they live will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read. I am constantly amazed by the witty banter and rich dialogue Ms. Hart craftily weaves in her work. Sera and Fix are both burdened by the demons from their past and yet, together they become whole. With a complex plot, strong characters, and smoking hot passion, Freaks is an exceptional read with a twisted plot, a ruthless alpha hero, and a spirited heroine.
And it will be the death of us both."

“Fuck,” he groaned. “The moment you slid your pussy down onto my dick, I was a fucking goner.”
“I walked the road to hell, and I lived there for a time, but I’m not going to be another broken girl you have to take care of. You’re a fixer. But you don’t need to fix me.”

and Nasty
, do not read this one (also if you have not read the first book, this review will contain spoilers).
--- but this encounter takes place on the same timeline, but earlier than when Zeth actually gets together with the h in his story - there are a couple of years between when he "meets" the h and when they actually get together). I paused this series to read the one about Zeth so I would better understand his character, and I don't regret doing that bc it humanized Zeth (to an extent). I didn't read the whole thing, just the first 2 books in that series; it was enough to know at least some about this character. It was obvious to me what was happening with Zeth coming into this story because “Better men would pretend. They’d make sure you were safe, and they would leave you the fuck alone. I’m the very worst kind of creature, the fucking worst, because I can’t do that. I can’t fucking let you go. I’m in love with you, Angel. And it will be the death of us both.”
“I’ll love you as fiercely as the sun fucking burns, and you’ll have to fucking like it, because you did this, Felix. You made me love you just as much as you love me, and it’s never going to go away now. I’m never going to go away. This is it.”
“Nothing will ever be simple after you, Sera ... I’m unwilling to even think about what my life would look like if you decided to turn around and walk away from me.”
He had the face of an angel, the body of a god, and a mouth that could make the devil blush.
I’d had to fight for everything in my life, and I didn’t regret that for a moment. The fight had shown me how strong I was. It had shown me the true value of happiness, and it had shown me the lengths I was willing to go to in order to protect it.
