‘15 simple exercises that take no more than 15 minutes per day to complete’
Chicago author Raza Iman has written several successful books on health and fitness – UNCONVENTIONAL FITNESS TIPS, THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RIPPED, HOW TO BURN BELLY FAT, THE LEAN BODY EXPERIMENT, 17 QUICK AND EASYHIGH PROTEIN MEALS IN 12 MINUTES OR LESS. Now that he has helped prepare our body and diet he steps into the arena of tending to our mind with 30 DAYS OF FOCUS: THE STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR PRODUCTIVITY AND CRUSH YOUR GOALS IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS. And if Raza is the model for the covers of his books….then take heed. As he states in biographical notes, ‘I'm not a 22 year old fitness guru. I'm not an "Instagram hottie" I don't live or work in a gym. I don't have chefs prepare my meals for me. I'm a busy father of 3 young kids. I work in IT for a major hospital in Chicago with a 2 hour daily commute. I have to (and like to) eat my wife's cooking - which doesn't always stick to my "macros" I go to birthday parties, and barbecues, and business lunches, and family gatherings. But I've figured out how to stay in shape despite all of that. So I decided to become a Kindle author to write about my experiences and show simple strategies and tips regular people can use to get healthier, stronger, and leaner.’ And now, THINK FASTER, LEARN QUICKER , GET SMARTER.
Raza’s primary lesson in this very accessible book is learning the skill of TRAINING YOUR MIND. His technique is so user friendly that we feel we are at his does through this brief book. Example – ‘Though I’m no genius, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of reading to make humans smarter. And it’s not just a hunch, there are TONS of real life examples of smart, successful people reading vigorously. For example, Bill Gates makes it a personal mission to read at least 50 books a year. Likewise, other successful people, including Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, and Mark Zuckerberg all make an effort to read as much as they can. Clearly, these people know that reading is directly associated with success and intelligence. In addition to there being TONS of anecdotal and experiential evidence, here is actual research behind the idea, it isn’t just anecdotal pseudoscience..’ That is the flow of this book.
Raza lays it all out in his choice of sections - Read More (simple but powerful), Make MORE Mistakes (yes, more), Empathy and the Power of Learning From Other People’s Mistakes, The Ancient Technique of Controlled Breathing, Lifting Weights and Running to Sharpen Your Brain, Visualize Your Ideal Outcome (a smarter you), Pay Close Attention (focus on the little things), Learn How to Sell (to think faster), Learn How to Program (to learn quicker), How Writing Makes You Smarter, Learn a New Language (activate more parts of your brain), Take More Naps (need I say more?), Eat Less (being overstuffed makes you stupid), Positive Self-Talk (talk to yourself like you’re smart), and Take Aggressive, Persistent Action (it’s the only thing that matters).
As with all of Raza’s book he teaches us without wasting our time. Thee are many valid and valuable points that he shares and taking advantage of his thoughts WILL train your mind!
Raza Imam wrote a wonderful book. This book is an outcome of his voracious reading. He touched upon various things/topics. Exercise to stay fit physically as well as mentally, breathing technique, eating habit, concentration, reading habits, computer coding, observing others, selling things, self talk and what not.
Though this book is general in nature, but his atiitude is no nonsense. He directly came to the point with no extra time pass stories. he was straight on the target. Moreover, you can get 3-4 books combination or say essence in 1 book. I really liked this one. any one can read this one.
This book is filled with strategies found in longer books of this type. The author is familiar with a truth; most of us already know what we need to do, we just need to do it! Taking these strategies individually or several at a time created significant improvements for me. These are good reminders of the need to continue practicing to get results. It’s a short, entertaining, and effective read!
I liked the tactics used in writing style, precise narration with loaded information, I really liked how in short time we gain a lot information, besides the topics covere are valuable.
It was a great reminder that I'm on track and doing almost all the tactics for getting smarter and learning quicker. The nudge to take more action and challenge myself was very motivating.
The writer lost me completely when he used Jeffrey immelt as an example of anything except latent incompetence. The chairman of GE single-handedly brought one of the greatest companies ever created to its knees. The example of his idiocy is the man had a second corporate jet fly alongside every one of his visits two other locations. I don't know what his plan was but I know you can't change planes in mid-air.
