Oh my gosh! This was one of the most entertaining books I’ve read in a very long time!
Nikki has lived her life always in a relationship, never dependent on herself. After her last break up she quits her job, cashes in her retirement fund and heads to Europe where she has absolutely no plans except to live a life of adventure. When the handsome stuck up brit next to her begins to panic as the plane takes off, she does a typical Nicole thing and kisses him.
The last thing Harrison wants is to spend the long plane trip trapped next to a stranger. When an exuberant beauty takes the seat next to him and begins telling him her life story he is not amused, not in the least. This is the most inappropriate behavior and the kiss she lands on him is even more so. Just because he returns it with gusto doesn’t change that fact. Now he’s in need of an assistant and his only hope is the wacky Nicole who has no solid plans, needs a job, and hasn’t left the airport yet.
This book was so much fun! I laughed and grinned through the whole thing until my cheeks were sore. Nikki is forthright and quirky and fits right in with Harrison’s wack-a-doodle family. I loved that she always saw the positive side of things even in the most dire of circumstances. Harrison is uptight and grumpy, always scowling and completely tired of the craziness that is his life when he returns home for the summer to help his family’s business. The last thing he wants in a woman is someone who fits in with his family. The fact that he couldn’t help but fall for her in spite of his assertions to himself made me love him all the more. (I do love a grumbly hero!)
This is a fast paced read that I whizzed through in one sitting, mostly because it was just so dang good. The secondary characters are extreme and thoroughly humorous, especially Granny. After all, when you’re her age you’re free to say and do whatever you like. Senility, you know? Along with Harrison’s friends and family, there is a group of villagers that add to the hilarity. Immature humor is not my thing, and I’m not sure this would be labeled as such. It was, however, so freaking cute I just gobbled up every bit of it.
Just a little advice, read the dedication. Then when you’ve reached about the 25% mark, go back and read the dedication again. I, personally, found it to be much more relevant at that point which caused me to laugh again. And I continued to laugh as I fell more in love with this couple and Harrison’s aversion to The Book That Must Not Be Named.

3.5 Stars!
This was a cute read. Funny, fast paced, likable main characters and some really good side characters. His granny was pretty entertaining. If you've read previous books, you get to see the couples from book one and two as well as the rest of the guys in the poker group. You do not have to read them first. This can be read as a standalone. It's a very safe read and good for when you need to light and fun read. The first book in the series still remains my favorite so far.

Scotland or Bust is a fun read. It has this cute fun banter. Miss Archer did stick to rom com from start to end.
The family drama is bit OTT (it is hilarious drama), but the chemistry between Nikki and Harrison is spot on.
The story is short but need something real twist on the story. Otherwise, I feel the story is flat and recycle.
Anyway, it is still enetertaining book.

I think this is the first time I've finished a book and not had a rating in mind. Some parts I loved, and other parts had me shaking my head and chuckling at the absurdity.
So I think for this one I will start at the beginning and take you all along on my process. We'll see where the numbers land at the end.

I’m a huge fan of the fake fiancé trope and the Scotland setting was an added bonus.
I liked Nicole and Harrison well enough. They have more in common then they think and it was fun reading them figure it out. The chemistry and button pushing didn’t hurt either. There are a lot of secondary characters, but Granny stole the show. And I’m pretty sure every scene in the pub was my favorite.
Plot wise, it was okay. For me, everything felt rushed and there didn’t seem to be any concept of time. Within a couple of pages, it’s been months and that was a bit of a struggle. I’m all for love at first sight, but besides a few kisses and a couple of generic slash semi fade to black sex scenes, it didn’t come across that their relationship was changing.
Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. I’m not sure what the page count is, but I think this is a story that would benefit from just a bit more.

Harrison Troy is a man who doesn't tolerate much and now he finds himself flying first class and hoping that whoever has the seat next to him either doesn't show up or is silent as a mouse. In walks Nicole Franklin, she is a beauty to be sure and within a few minutes he knows the story of her life. Not that Harrison asked for the details, she shared them freely and she is fulfilling her dreams to have her own Outlander experience.
When Harrison finds himself losing another assistant he makes a deal with Nicole and hires her to help with the castle his family lives in. Innocently enough Nicole ends up in Harrison's bed and becomes his pretend fiancee. As the town bets on how long she will last, Harrison begins to question if maybe the best thing that happened to him is Nicole, will he figure it out before it is too late?
This was so funny. I was cracking up and loved the references to Outlander throughout. I thought Harrison's family was a hoot and liked seeing him come out of his rigid exterior. If you are looking for something light , this is one to pick up.

This is a cute and fun romance with some references to Outlander. Nikki takes a job with Harrison and let the fun begin. Not only does his family live in a real live castle but Harrison dresses up in a kilt. I enjoyed the romance and the fun between Harrison and the villagers. Four outlander stars of entertainment!

I was getting flashbacks of that infamous wedding scene from outlander while reading this book. The setting, the atmosphere and the characters were so likable and fun to read.

Another fantastic book from Kira Archer. Oh how I love her books and she knocked this one right out of the park!
Uptight Harrison who is forced to fly commercial home to England for the summer meets his seat mate Nicole. The lively, beautiful and ever optimistic chatty Nicole who managed to figure out Harrison didn't do take offs well as he was rifling through his brief case looking for his Xanax all the while bemoaning that his private jet was being worked on... clever Nicole distracts Harrison in the best possible way by laying one on him and then some. She fell into the kiss and he followed her right down that path. Harrison hated going home for the summer, hated the thoughts of what was ahead of him, his crazy (delightful) family and the castle they lived in that was falling down around them and he oversaw the work. His very strong dislike for Outlander which you must read this book to appreciate the full impact of why. Nicole is a fan. Nicole tells all, that she's left a bad realtionship, one with no future, quit her job, cashed in her 401 and has decided to move to Europe. Sure she has no job or plan, but she'll wing it. Harrison manages to piss on her parade a couple times but when he gets to the airport and a text from his assistant that she's quit, he quickly seeks out Nicole offering her the job, and a place to stay, the castle.
Once there she is quickly taken in by his family especially is ultra quirky Scottish Gran who is half crazed, but really isn't. She makes a dang lot of sense and doesn't miss much. They're preparing to launch an Outlander tour which is so popular it's booked 2 seasons ahead and Nicole really proves herself worth her salt and keeps Harrison is check. She's quick on her feet and one step ahead. Clearly these two are attracted and everyone else sees it, even his friends who come in from NY as part of a trial run pre opening the castle for the tour, but after being caught in bed and Gran planning their wedding and giving him her ring to put on Nicole's finger, the two of them still play it pretty cool.
When the first tour guests arrive all goes well, until the end and man I didn't see that coming.
Nicole has a heart to heart with Gran. Meanwhile Harrison doesn't know what to make of what's just happened nor does he talk about it either. Better to sit at the Pub with the family and friends and get sauced. Feel sorry for himself. Until he snaps out of it.
I loved these two and all of the crazy family. His Gran was hysterical and smart as a whip. Nicole brought out the best in Harrison and she enjoyed being herself. Truthfully. She was perfect as she was. I couldn't have wanted any more from two great lead characters in a book. The best I've read in a long, long time. Don't pass this one up!

Three and a half stars.
Can't see how many pages, but feels like a novella.
Harrison Troy is flying home from New York to spend the Summer with his family, it wasn't entirely clear to me whether 'home' was Scotland or England, he wears a kilt (for Outlander purposes) but is repeatedly referred to as English - whether that is the author not understanding the nuances of being English, Scottish or British I don't know. His private plane is out of action, none of his friends can lend him a plane and the airline he has chosen to fly with doesn't have the modern first class pods so he is forced to sit next to a total stranger (first world problems encapsulated). His seat mate is Nicole (Nikki) Franklin, an unlucky-in-love accountant who has thrown up everything in order to realise her dreams of travelling Europe. The start of the book reminded me of Managed, Harrison is terrified of flying and Nikki takes his mind off take-off with a steamy kiss. When they land in Scotland/England Harrison discovers that his assistant has quit and so he offers Nikki eight weeks work at his family's castle.
What follows is a madcap/ slapstick caper in which Harrison's zany family frustrate his attempts to get the family travel business into the black by running Outlander-themed holidays. I'm not a fan of the zany and Harrison's grandmother in particular (talk of fornication outside wedlock and entering jousting competitions) was (in my opinion) unfunny and unnecessary, indeed most of Harrison's family appeared merely there for the zany and had no real interactions with Harrison or Nikki.
I did enjoy this but I have to say, as an Englishwoman, the idea that you could halve the time taken to drive from the Scottish border (assume for the sake of argument, although I believe Outlander is set in the Highlands) to London Heathrow is frankly ludicrous. It's 313 miles from Gretna Green to London Heathrow which would take just under five hours via motorway, the idea that you could drive a minibus at 120 miles an hour constantly is simply ridiculous. Also, has no-one pointed out to Kira Archer that there are five terminals at Heathrow, some of them quite some distance apart?
Nevertheless, if you can overlook the geographic ambiguity, this was a pleasant, low angst romantic comedy - ideal beach reading.

What starts out as a fake engagement becomes something neither one ever expected...
Nicole has always been in some type of relationship and is determined to break the habit. She’s quit her job, cashed in her 401, hopped a plane across the ocean, and shared a steamy kiss with a complete stranger. Not bad for a chickie with no future plans, in a foreign country and flying by the seat of her pants! She’s optimistic, chaotic, compassionate, and so stinking funny...I loved her!
Harrison is kind of a stuff shirt, prefers order to chaos, and always expects worst case scenarios. Yet he’s also patient, sweet, and witty. He loves his nutty family (no joke, they’re loco, but in a totally adorable way!) but knows he doesn’t quite fit in with their zany personalities. So it boggles his mind he’s so attracted to Nicole and her quirkiness.
I simply adored this book! The eccentric cast of characters had me laughing out loud too many times to count, but my favorite bits were all about Nicole and Harrison. I loved their chemistry and witty banter, making those intimate moments that much sweeter! This was a delightful read and I’m so glad I took a gander and picked it up! Definitely recommended to anyone who likes a sexy Scottish kilt wearing hero and good rom-com!

The third book in the Winning the Billionaire series by Kira Archer. Harrison Troy is on his way to England to visit the family and do his part with the family business. Much to his dismay he is seated next to Nicole Franklin. Nicole is ready to live for herself. Dumping her boyfriend she is off to England to who knows what. Next thing you know, Harrison is hiring Nicole as his assistant when his bails on him. Thing is, Harrison seems nervous for Nicole to meet his family. He considers them eccentric and dreads the working visit. But Nicole fits right in. Then Nicole accidently slips into the wrong bed and the family (grandma) naturally believes they are engaged.
Loved it. The characters were fun and there were quite a few LOL moments. Loved Grandma. The characters from the previous books show up and that was fun too. Great series and I hope more is to come but if not then I will have to find other books by this author to enjoy.

Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer is a fun vacation themed romance, and part of the author’s Winning the Billionaire series.
Nicole Franklin has always wanted to go to Europe, and since she’s single again, now is the perfect time. With a one way ticket and plans to find a temp job and figure things out as she goes along, she lucks out on the plane when she meets wealthy English businessman, Harrison Troy, owner of a popular travel agency.

What do you do when you break-up with your boyfriend? For Nicole Franklin, well she goes to Scotland with no job, no money, no plan and no visa. Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer was a funny and sweet read with likable characters.
Nicole knew there was no future with her ex, so why not head to Scotland? I loved her. She was funny and mostly spoke her mind. Harrison Troy is formal and proper, even if he is surrounded by some crazy and funny family and friends. The last thing he wants on a flight home is to sit next to a woman who talks nonstop, buts somehow now she is working for him.
Nicole and Harrison were opposites, but somehow also complemented each other. When they find themselves pretending to be engaged, they find they may have more in common than they thought. I enjoyed reading Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer and look forward to reading more of her work!

This was a fun fast listen and I quiet enjoyed it. I liked the characters and how Harrison tended to be the shish one and Nicole was the out going on.
Being as they are in Scotland and all the things I love about the country this book gave us that and a romance with humor.
Harrison’s family home/castle is featured in the “Outlander” books and so now they do tours. It’s funny how much Harrison hates the book that shall not be named but it makes his family a pretty penny. And in turn gives them the opportunity to fix up the things that are breaking.
I loved Nicole’s zest for life, and how she gets hired to do a job and she is so good at it. I just liked her character.

It's not bad, but I had expected to like it more than I did. It somehow just missed the mark for me, and at the end, I found myself speed reading and skimming pages. Especially the epilogue was tough, but I do have a problem with those so...

This is one of those books that you can totally picture as a movie filled with your favorite stars. It’s full of fun, swoony moments and has no angst. I super enjoyed it. And if you’re a fan of the Book That Must Not Be Named, I can guarantee you’ll enjoy this heart warming tribute to it.

this was a super cute and super quick read. i've read two other books by this author - the two winning the billionaire books - and i loved the first one, liked the second. i probably felt the same about this one as i did the second, it was enjoyable, i laughed, but it wasn't amazing. nothing stands out as being awful, nothing stands out as being fabulous. it was cute, i liked it, but ultimately pretty forgettable.
i liked harrison and nicole well enough, though i'm not sure i ever got a grasp on why nicole was so hesitant to get into a relationship. yes, it was explained but it felt pretty flimsy, i guess. the whole fake relationship was a bit odd, not really a focus of the story but still there at random times? it was weird. i really liked harrison's family.
i love outlander. i don't know if people who don't like/know nothing about it would enjoy the several mentions of it in this book. didn't bother me.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a super cute, light romance. And it also included OUTLANDER! So how could I not? But apparently this was a continuation of a series, and I didn't know about it. So now, I have to read these books to, that revolve around Harry's friends.
“Do your friends call you Harry?”
“No.”
“Never?”
“Not to my face.”
“Can I?”
His lips twitched. The woman was insufferable. “Not to my face.”
She shrugged. “Too bad. You look like a Harry.”
I liked both characters, both Harry and Nikki were super admirable. What shocked me was the beginning of the book, leaving in a different country I wish I found someone like him during one of my flights, but real life is not like books, unfortunately.
“That must have been hard. Sometimes it’s lonelier being surrounded by people than it is when you are actually alone.”
I could relate to Harry. Although I not ashamed my family like he was before Nikki showed him that they were amazing, but I felt like we were super tight. And while I'm, thanks to them, super outgoing and extroverted loved being around people and loud, BUT I wanted to be ALONE at times, so I really could relate to him at times, although my family wasn't crazy like his.
“I swear, our poker games have gone from a relaxing night out with my mates to a giggle and gabfest with the ladies over tea. Can we please talk about something other than my love life?”
Humor was always present in this book, that's why I liked it a lot. I love good humor and the author made it real and not cheesy at all. After reading this book, I can't wait to read his friends' books that I feel could be funnier, based on some of their personalities that I have seen here. Since it seemed like Harry was the serious one, out of them all.
He drew his thumb across her skin, cupping her cheek in his hand. She rose on her toes, and he leaned in.
It was a horrible idea. There were a million reasons to walk away from her.
And he didn’t give a shit about any of them.
Despite having a fake relationship I liked how they treated and respected each other. It was also interesting to see how seriously Nikki took the job.
“It isn’t the romance, or at least not the way you think. It’s like in the show. Yes, the guy who plays the main character is gorgeous. But frankly I’ve seen better in real life.” Her eyes traveled over his body with a slow intensity that almost had him squirming like an inexperienced virgin.
“And yes,” she continued, “the sex scenes are fun. But not for the reasons you think. It’s not what they’re doing. It’s the way he looks at her. The way he touches her. The things he says to her. He’s a good enough actor that you believe he really means it. He would do absolutely anything for her. Give himself over to his worst enemy. Let himself be captured, beaten, flogged, killed. Anything to keep her safe. He’d dive into the middle of a storm-raging ocean and face down entire armies for her.
“Hell, my last boyfriend wouldn’t even toss a few of my shirts in with his laundry when he ran a load. Not to be mean. It just never occurred to him to do something like that for me. If he did do nice things for me, it was because it was convenient for him, not because he wanted to make me happy or because of something I needed. That is why I love the series so much. Because when I read it, I can experience a different time and place and be a part of a type of love that probably doesn’t really exist. I get a taste of something that I’ll probably never have in real life. Their love is epic. And when I’m immersed in the books or the show, I get to feel that for a little while, too.”
I mean who would not want to have a guy like this. Scottish, sexy accent, tall, handsome, rich, family oriented, caring, down to earth. It is sad that they don't exist in real life, or I don't run into any.
Our adventure will never end.
Overall, it was an amazing book, and the author deserves every single praise word that she gets! Can't wait reading the other books of Harry's friends.

I totally enjoyed reading this book! It was funny, sassy, and just an overall fun read! I loved the girl on the cover!! She MADE me want to read about her peppy and energetic self! Him? Not so much! He didn't seem to fit the description of a Highlander to me....
Harrison and Nikki meet on a plane. Nikki just got out of a relationship and looking for a life reboot, drains her 401K, and heads for greener pastures in Scotland! Harrison is annoyed but at the same time attracted to Nikki. He was pretty stuffy, an aerospace nerd that definitely needed to get the stick out of his a**! Finding himself in need of an assistant now, Harrison propositions Nikki. They bargain for her to stay for the summer season.
Nikki likes the idea of working for the largest travel company in Scotland doing Outlander tours! Harrison is easy on the eyes and she gets to live in a castle! A real castle!! She finds working for Harrison is a challenge-but she loves it there! The scenery, his quirky family, and even the locals who are betting on how long she lasts!! Harrison is steadily growing on her, and she on him! You know where this story is headed, but it was an absolute delight to read! The journey has a lot of ups and downs, humor and sadness, but in the end we get that HEA that we came for!

The whole travel company backdrop was very believable and all the references to Outlander made me want to indulge even more! Harrison is forced to slum it in First Class on a commercial airline and sits next to Nikki, who has cashed in all her savings and splurged on a one way ticket to England. Due to a very entertaining chain of circumstances, Nikki ends up as Harrison's assistant, although his family believe her to be his fiancee. At this point the novel sort of stalls and perhaps it is more interesting if you have read or watched "The Book/Show Which Must Not Be Named", which is constantly referenced (I have done neither), but I lost interest to an extent.
There were too many minor characters - Harrison's father disappeared altogether and his sister popped up very occasionally only to say the odd line. Then there were his poker buddies and their girlfriends, who got so much airtime I wonder if they were in previous books. Having never encountered them before, I didn't really care about them and couldn't keep them apart in my head.
Then there was the exhausting series of hi-jinks, mainly on the part of Harrison's grandmother, the leaving the groom at the altar, the big road trip to the airport, the obscene expenditure of money to catch up with the fleeing Nikki, etc etc. The emotions behind these events were explained carefully, but made no real sense to me.
Also, British people don't use the word "rutabaga" - it's swede.

I absolutely LOVED 69 Million Reasons, the first book in this series. The second wasn’t quite as good but still enjoyable. I feel the same about this one. There were a lot of references to Outlander in this book. I don’t know what that is or anything about it, so I didn’t care for the “show not to be named” references all throughout the book. That being said, I loved Harrison’s quirky family and thought it was a fun and cute read. What I didn’t get was why they kept holding out on themselves over getting together. There wasn’t a strong enough reason in my mind.
Bottom Line: Fun, quick read.

This is a delightful book that made me smile. I loved Nikki, even though she's done some flaky things. I even loved Harrison, who is uptight and rigid. Reading about Nikki crashing through his defenses and helping him find joy was thoroughly enjoyable.
If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list and this book exemplifies why. This is a wonderful light romance with a bit of humor that is just a feel good story......and Scottish kilts?....Swoon warning.....even better, learning what one Scottish man wears under his kilt.

I really enjoyed this book. The heroine is quirky and I love the opposites-attract theme. Because the hero is rather grumpy and ofcourse she changes his point of view!
I won't expand too much about the plot. Simply said: the heroine (Nic) burns her (American) bridges and splashes (squanders..) her money on a first class ticket to England and meets Harrison on the plane. It is not love at first sight... When Harrison finds his assistant has quit on him, he asks Nic to be his assistant for a limited time, offering a good deal of money. When the couple arrives at the family's castle in Scotland they are forced to fake a relationship.
Although it's an enjoyable story, I do have doubts about some stuff. First, Nicole just ups and leaves her country (spending thousands on a ticket) and hasn't even looked into Visa and stuff??!!!! But she is amazing at her temporary job. There are more (little) plotholes concerning Harrison's family and fortune and what Harrison actually does for a living, but okay... let's accept it for the sake of the story :-)

This is a wonderful lighthearted cute read with touches of humor and emotion that just made me smile. Harrison was so stoic and serious. It was fun to see how the whirlwind that was Nicole slowly won over not only him but his family and the entire small town. Nothing to deep in this one but sometimes that's exactly what I need in a relaxing book. For a great afternoon of reading grab a copy of this one and enjoy. I highly recommend.

Cute, funny and it includes the book that must not be named.
Harrison's family was amusing, the humor in the right places and the whole Outlander thing was fun.
The grandmother was a hoot with her crazy behavior. The rediscovery of old Morty had be laughing out loud.
