When Roni Diarmuid took a position at Clementine Distillery, she planned on developing the best craft bourbon money could buy. She never factored in having a tall, suave, and devastatingly handsome boss, Kurtis Clements, who would make her panties melt. Fortunately, the company doesn't have a no fraternization rule. When the universe seems to be against Roni and Kurtis' romance-and the success of Clementine Distillery-accidents happen, things go awry, and all hell breaks loose. Will Roni and Kurtis-and Clementine-survive the accidents and sabotage, or will they fold?
Initial Thoughts: I really enjoyed this novella. The story of Roni and Kurtis is thoroughly romantic but so down-to-earth. They are both survivors. I enjoyed the reality of their own recoveries and how it played a part in their journey. The plot of the saboteur was not surprising but the escalation and path it takes was. I really enjoyed this new-to-me author and look forward to more. Please click on the link to my full review posted at That's What I'm Talking About blog: http://twimom227.com/2017/01/review-d...
I received an ARC copy in return for an honest review.
I went into this understanding that it was written with a word count cap and a deadline, so while I say the novella felt a little rushed at the end, it is understandably rushed and I'm happy to know that it will be re-released at a later date with more substance.
Despite that one flaw, the plot is interesting. I love the idea of following your dreams and fulfilling them despite untold obstacles. The fact that both main characters were flawed, open about their flaws and doing their best to help each other deal with them and move on with their life was a refreshing take from the 'perfect people' that so often get written about who don't seem to be able to articulate their wants and needs to their 'soulmate.'
While the antagonist was obvious, the associate was less so and their role in the whole plot could be further explored and I hope will be in the next edition.
Overall, great characters, good plot, well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I look forward to reading more.
