Unnecessary information and ow stuff that did not add to the story at all but instead took away from it, therefore lessening my enjoyment of what could've been a good second chance story. I will say, I love that neither were with others since their ONS almost three months ago, and that Ryan never even thought of being with anyone else. When Ryan's path crossed, unexpectedly, with Suzie's again, he was pretty much all in immediately and wanted to fully explore their connection.

Received a copy for an honest review. Thank you Book End Tours & Nicole Flockton for providing the eBook.

I have become quite a fan of Nicole Flockton since my last read because of White Knight. She has such a unique writing style that I am really finding myself wanting more and more to curb my addiction. Ergo my signup for Guarding Suzie book tour!

Told from the perspective of Suzie and Ryan, the book jumps right into the good stuff from the start. Ryan finds himself in a hospital where his amazing one night stand happens to be his nurse, and Suzie is definitely there to pull some punches on the backbone of this love story. I loved the premise, gush me more please.

In terms of the characters, I liked them, but did not love them. Ryan is definitely sexy as hell, with an alpha male personality. He is also a really funny character, very compassionate. What can I say, I am a sucker for a good alpha male. Unfortunately it was Suzie who made my opinions on the read a little wishy washy for a better lack of a term. Don't get me wrong, I loved the chemistry, which I will get to more in a second, but it was Suzie's overall personality that made me unable to really connect with her. I loved that she had this dark past, she was conflicted female lead who was trying to be strong and move forward as a strong, independent female. My issue however lies with the fact that one minute she is this hardass, hold not punches back then suddenly she is this inferior female who leans completely on Ryan. I personally would have liked her to have been more stubborn perhaps, little less timid.

Aside from my pet peeve of the looming issues for Suzie, I couldn't deny that I loved the juicey goodness that was Suzie and Ryan. Hot damn. The connection between them was undeniable, though it had a feel of insta-love, it was nothing short of delicious. I would definitely love to see them more, or even have seen more of their build of the connection.

I also really enjoyed the supporting cast plus the escalating drama. It was definitely super fun setting and I loved the drama filled action in the end. It really left my heart pounding for a resolve. I was literally sweating with fear that something was happening to Suzie!

All in all, it was a quick, nicely paced read. I could probably compare it to a novella type short read, but none the less I found it decently enjoyable. Aside from my slight urk-ness of just my personal preference, I definitely still recommend giving Flockton a go. She has a way with her writing style that grips you from start to finish, her storylines are definitely intriguing and the chemistry is off the pages delicious. I won't deny that I plan on going back to read this series, plus I am looking forward to what comes next!

A second chance….

This was a new author for me but anything to do with Susan Stoker’s Special Forces series is an instant “gimme” kind of read. I’m not always a fan of adding different voices to a much-loved author’s series but sometimes you have to branch out and take a chance.

Suzie and Ryan came together by accident when Ryan was wounded and shipped state-side. This wasn’t the first time they met and their passionate encounter months ago had unexpected consequences. As they both came to terms with their new reality they also had to work through feelings of anger and regret or their future was going to be rocky indeed.

“She was becoming important in the way Erin was to Italy. The way Maria was to Ash. And it scared the hell out of him.”

Suzie’s only comparison was a bad relationship she never wanted to repeat so she was in no hurry to get tangled up in another one. No matter how attractive and compelling Ryan was. Ryan, on the other hand, knew he wanted the whole ball of wax with her and wasn’t shy about letting her know that…

There were no huge surprises though that’s not always necessary if the story keeps my attention. Suzie and Ryan kept me reading even if I struggled with the slow delivery at times. I would definitely read this author again - a story that is all her own, one I wouldn’t be comparing to someone else’s…

Nicole Flockton is a new author for me. I picked up Guarding Suzie as it's part of Susan Stoker's kindle world series which I loved. However, I am not loving this book as much as I hoped. Firstly, I can overlooked the grammar and spelling errors, they aren't that many but I did spot a few. A good editor or proof reader should have been able to spot them.

What I really dislike is the portrayal of Suzie. Look, I understand that she got out of a bad divorce where the ex was a domineering controlling s.o.b however, her incessant need to always be in control and not giving an inch is so over the top and annoying. Ryan aka Joker has to walk on tip toes around her, fearing that whatever he says might be misconstrued by her. Ryan is a stand up guy and a likeable hero but an Alpha he is not. For me, heroes in this Susan Stoker world has to be Alpha, not only must they be sex-on-a-stick, they ought to exude confidence and take charge attitude. I find that Ryan gave in too much to Suzie, he doesn't demand his rights and sometimes he came across as such a pushover.

Overall, I cannot recommend this book nor am I going to read anymore from this author.

After leaving a bad relationship Suzie has worked hard to move on and gain her own independence. A one night stand with Ryan, a Navy Seal, is just what she needed. However fate has other plans for these two.

This is a really well told story. The two main characters are fab together. Can’t get enough of the secondary characters either. I really do need Texs story.

Awesome!

I'm so glad I tried this book from Nicole Flockton! I've never read one of books now I can't wait to read another. If you've read the books from Susan Stoked you will recognize Tex and Ghost! I just love these cross over novels. You get to read new authors and this one is great! Read this one and you will not be disappointed!

I didn't love this story, it was way too short and extremely cheesy and cliche at times.

The Joke's on Joker

A nurse and a SEAL...can't get any better than that! The surprise that came for Suzie and Ryan after their one-night stand became the catalyst that would have brought them together but it was their unexpected attraction that made it all happen. I am so addicted to this series. Have to meet all of our heroes and the women who brought them to their knees!

This one is a little on the cheesy side but I still enjoyed. I did not enjoy Suzie constantly "needing to be in charge" and I thought Joker did remarkably well in dealing with and understanding her needs.

Wonderfully written with exemplary characters. Some familiar and some not. There is a bit of sexual content inside. A warm, loving story with action and a whole lot of heart. Loved this.

As I read all of Nicole Flockton's Guarding/Guardian Seals books back to back, I began to joke that I loved the latest hero "The most." So it was with Ryan 'Joker' Smith. I thought Storm, then Ash, then Italy were my favorites. But then Joker came along.

He was in the last book. He'd met Suzie when she was the nurse for one of the character's in Italy and Erin's book. They hooked up for one fun night. No big deal.

Until Joker is injured and ends up in the same hospital where Suzie is his nurse. Not expecting to see her again, he can't deny his immediate attraction. Only Suzie's hiding a pretty big secret from him...

These guys are funny and sexy and fierce. These books are fun, quick reads. Worth your time to delve in.

Who is Suzie Waterson? What does she do for a living? What are her likes and dislikes? What is her life like? Who are Ryan 'Joker' Smith and Greg 'Cowboy' Robertson? Why does Suzie make note of an address? Who's address is it? What could happen to her if it is found out? Who are Jeffery and Peter? How do each of them know Suzie? When Suzie comes up missing, where is she? Who has taken her? How do they find her? It was great seeing Truck and Ghost in this book, with our SEALS. I hope to see more cross over between the DELTA team and the SEAL team. They make great bedfellows, so to speak. There was plenty of action in this book for it being such a quick read. Enjoy it!

Guarding Suzie: Special Forces Operation Alpha: Guardian SEALs Book 4 is by Nicole Flockman. The next SEAL to fall is Joker. However, his fall is totally unexpected .
Erin and her best friend, Antonia, were kidnapped. They were saved through the efforts of the entire SEAL team led by Carlos’s interest in Erin. While they were in the hospital, the entire team came to visit. Carlos had asked her to bring Antonia for Joker; but there was no interest between the two. However, there was a spark of interest between Suzie and Joker. This led to a one night stand which was what the two had agreed on. However, Ryan just could not forget her.
The team was sent on another mission and through a series of unfortunate happenings, Joker was shot in the leg. He was sent home and sent to the hospital. He was determined to get out as soon as possible. When a nurse came in to take vitals, he knew her. She was the one he had the one-night-stand with. He first recognized her by the rose perfume she wore, then by her name. He wanted to see more of her. She ignored him until he went home.
Suzie had something to tell Joker that he wouldn’t be able to joke about, so she went to his apartment to tell him. When she got there, she found him running a fever and immediately got him to bed to check his wound. She found it infected so quickly called the ambulance. Meanwhile, Joker blacked out. When he woke in the hospital, he knew he had really messed up his leg and it would take longer to mend and he immediately remembered what Suzie told him last night- She was pregnant.
What are the two going to do now?

I liked this book. I didn’t love it, but I did like it. Also, some spoilers ahead.

The heroine was a little frustrating sometimes in regards to her “I run this show and if you have any strong opinions then you had better keep them to yourself or be a giant pussy about it and realize I’m pretty unreasonable”.

I did like her no nonsense attitude, as a nurse she gets an appropriately take-no-shit attitude. But it was just everywhere. Even when she falls for Ryan, even after her place is trashed, even when he thinks Jeffrey is stalking her. See the pattern?

I know she had a shit marriage before and so I kind of get why she was like that, but it can still be considered kind of on the bitchy side. Even with context.

Ryan was a nice guy, I don’t particularly have anything to say about him that could use work. The drama at the end though was a little annoying. I liked the slight twist but it was all just over super fast.

Overall, it was an okay read.

Ryan (aka Joker) met Suzie when Erin and Antonia were in the Hospital (Book 03). 3 months later and Ryan is still thinking about her. Of course Fate was on his side and he ended up seeing her again at the hospital she works at. They see each other and that spark/attraction they felt was still there and going strong. Mix in a lot of Drama and it makes for a really great story. I’m looking forward to reading all the SEALs books especially Robot and Antonia’s. In each book we get a little glimpse of what’s going on between those two and the suspense is killing me.

Happy Reading 🤓

One night and more

Suzie and Joker...steamy start and then an unplanned surprise. Joker has his own insecurities but the main obstacle to their romance is the abusive baggage Suzie has from a previous marriage.I loved the bromance Joker has with his team, but really with Truck. I have not read about him yet and I want to!

This was a fast and fun read. The level of friendships, respect for the military and their loved ones, the drama of the crimes and the all k owing Tex makes for a fun read and series!

A one night stand of fun and over the moon sex leads to so much more than they imagined when Joker ends up shot and sees Suzie again. These two had no intention of ever running into each other again, ever. Fate had different plans. Ha and so does her past. With an ex that's toxic and a neighbor that's creepy it's a good thing that the seals are close by.

Another great read from this author. Sexy, intriguing and fun.

Good story

Suzie dealt with an abusive husband and was able to get away from him. She moved on with her life with no intention of getting involved in another relationship. After one night with Ryan, her plans change and she makes the decision to involve him in her life. She seems to recognize that Ryan is giving her control of their relationship but she gets upset when he tries to control her safety? I’m glad she came around and they were able to get past the drama.

Good Read

It's hard to believe how much was packed into this story. Looking at the pages I thought this would be a quick easy read and did not expect the full, beatiful, drama filled story I got. I loved getting a peak at other characters from previous books. Enjoyed the drama and seeing them get their HEA.

I felt like this was the best book in the series. What was only supposed to be a one night stand between Joker and Suzie ends up so much more. When Joker gets shot and Suzie ends up in his hospital room. Good thing they cross paths again because between Suzie’s ex and her not right neighbor it’s good to have Joker and his SEAL buddies in her corner.
