What follows a wedding? A honeymoon, of course. The beginning of a happily-ever-after future in which Ivy and Mac will travel the country in their motorhome searching for the perfect place to settle down and live. No more dead bodies. No more murders. Instead, here they are on a detour to an old dinosaur park, and Ivy is up to her possum-gray hair in ghost goats, deteriorating dinosaurs, and . . . what else? A dead body, of course. Ivy and Mac vow Non-involvement, no searching for clues or killers this time, but it's a vow difficult to maintain when they seem to be at the top of the list of suspects. There's a gun with Mac's initials scratched into it, a hint of dastardly doings in the past, an exploding Porsche, and a covert climb over a chain link fence into the dinosaur's domain. Is Ivy in danger from the dinosaurs? Or is it more a case of Watch out dinosaurs - here comes Ivy!
Ivy and Mac are back and on their way to a long awaited honeymoon!
On the way to Arizona, for their honeymoon, Mac is asked by his editor to stop in Northern California and write a travel article on a dinosaur park, so off they go to another mystery! While working on the article, they run into old friends (you'll love them!) and make new friends - and enemies - in their attempts to solve a mysterious death and make sure the killer is brought to justice.
One of my favorite things about the series is that the story is told from the viewpoints of both Ivy and Mac. It's easy to follow and it allows both to "showcase" their individual sleuthing talents. It was heartwarming to see them as newlyweds - it was a long and dangerous road to get where they are now - and their genuine kindness and faith - shines through. The book is fast paced and keeps you engaged in trying to figure out "whodunit". I thought I knew but I was wrong!
After their very exciting book that concluded in their wedding, Mac and Ivy drove off for their honeymoon. Only there was a wee bit of a detour. And they came across a dinosaur park and that led to Mac writing an article for a tour magazine and a whole lot more. There were so many ways the story could have gone, I had no idea what would happen. But the good news is the book is as good as all Lorena McCourtney's other books, full of funny bits, mysteries, and odd people. I must say I had several ideas of how the book would end, and they were all wrong! Lorena's ideas were better than anything I could have imagined. Now I can hardly wait for the next book in the series!
This was supposed to be their honeymoon trip, but they didn't quite reach their destination yet. Ivy & Mac thought this was a quick detour for an article he's writing. Instead they find themselves involved in more mystery and murder. I really enjoy reading about LOL Ivy. The stories are well written with an ending that I didn't see coming. Looking forward to reading about more of their adventures as they motor on to enjoy their honeymoon. Well done!
Another long book. I feel like this series goes by rather slowly, but that just leaves room for a lot of details and getting to know the characters. I was rather disappointed when I discovered who the killer was. Oh well.
Mac and Ivy are a sweet couple who have strong faith in the lord. I love that! I like how Ivy prays Ana how God answers her prayers.
The next book is Desert Dead: A Mac ‘n’ Ivy Mystery, Book #3 (The Mac ‘n’ Ivy Mysteries).
I just love how the author has kept the Ivy Malone stories going now Ivy has married Mac. Still an exciting read, as always, and hard to put down. Original story line, and great characters. And it’ll keep you guessing on who the “bad guy” is until the very end! Ivy certainly knows how to get herself in trouble! This book won’t disappoint.
I love Lorena McCourtney's books, she writes about people I could imagine being friends with. They're murder mysteries without foul language or graphic violence. The main characters are Christians, but not preachy (I know that matters to some readers). Check out Ivy Malone's mystery series that took place before she met Mac!
What fun to follow Mac and Ivy in this adventure. Murder most foul and Ivy and Mac are suspects. But they do their own investigation and find several others who have motive and may be the murderer. Lorena McCoutney weaves an interesting story that brings her characters alive and forces the reader to turn another page ... and another until we have justice.
Another enjoyable mystery, packed with suspects and unusual characters. This time, Mac and Ivy take a detour on the way to their honeymoon destination in Arizona for Mac to cover a magazine assignment covering a Northern California dinosaur theme park.
The park is run down and Ivy has doubts about the couple running it. Suspicions and motives fly even before a body comes to light. Naturally, shenanigans ensue. I had a little trouble getting into this one, and found the occasional clunky sentence, but Ivy and her mutant curiosity gene are a delight. By the end, I was reading at full speed.
Ivy MacPherson (formerly Malone) is a self-titled “LOL” (little old lady) with a knack for finding—and solving—mysteries. The Ivy ‘n’ Mac series follows the Ivy Malone series now that she and Mac are a couple.
Ivy is funny, sassy, and possessed of a double helping of spunk. She’s a treat to read, and it’s worth going back to meet her in her first book, Invisible. She and Mac travel the US in an RV, yet murders somehow find her at every turn.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I like Mac and Ivy. They are made for each other and are learning more about each other and growing in the Lord, in love, and in grace together as they continue to ride and live in their motor home. I’m looking forward to reading Book 3 of the Mac ‘n’ Ivy Series.
I chose 5 stars because that is what this book is. It is a fantastic journey into the life and world of Mac and Ivy which is never boring. Take a chance...read the book. You won't be disappointed.
I really enjoy reading Lorena McCourtney books. She develops great characters, the plots are fast paced and it’s clean reading without being boring. I always look forward to any new books McCourtney writes.
This is another fun, confusing, and excellent read. Lorena has out done herself with this book!😊. You will enjoy it from the beginning to the end. So looking forward to the next book!😉 keep them coming.
Enjoyable book to read, just like all of lorenas books you can get to know the characters I've read all the Ivy Malone books now looking forward to the next Mac and Ivy adventure
Ivy and Mac Books along with the Ivy Malone books are so fun to read and they always seem to have a surprise twist near the end that you didn’t see coming. Recommend for those over 60 because boy can we relate🤗
One wrong turn can take you on a wild ride. Mac & Ivy learn this the hard way in route to their honeymoon. No matter what life throws at them, with a little divine intervention, this LOL and her silver fox manage to meet this mystery head on.
This one had many twists & turns. I had an inkling of the murderer, but the character had just enough to keep you guessing. I liked that there was more than one case going on at a time. Looking forward to Mac & Ivy’s next adventure.
It's always fun to read Lorena Mccourtney's words. This book was especially delightful as it was set in Northern California, which is familiar to those of us on the West Coast.
