The book blurb sounded great but the story / execution was all over the place. Couldn’t connect with or care about the MCs. I nearly gave it 1 star.

I really wanted to enjoy this book. The blurb sounded great. I just couldn't relate to the characters or situations. It felt two dimensional and a bit stiff and rigid. The story line itself was interesting and this book was never one I considered making DNF. The story was grammatical and well edited for typos. It just missed the mark with me. I didn't hate it but won't reread it either.

I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.
This was about an Alpha Leo who was in an abusive relationship but is finally starting to 're explore the possibility of a forever love but its all to do with trust issue and letting the possibility of leaving himself open to hurt again. Hayden is new to exploring his bisexuality and bondage when he meets Leo, they both have a lot of issues and with an ex hanging round like a bad penny and stirring distrust its a bumpy ride for them. I liked the book but was not enamoured with it, I just felt there was something missing and which I just didn't connect to the story like others of this author's work.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the romance between Hayden and Leo. Leo is a Dom, but he has left the lifestyle behind for the most part after a bad break up. Leo used to go to the clubs but now stays home. One night he was looking at dating sites and he found Hayden's profile. Hayden is a closeted bisexual man whose mother now lives with him after his father died and he is unsure if she would accept him being with a man. Hayden has fantasies about being used by a Dom and wants to act on them. When he talks to Leo, he knows Leo is the one he wants. Leo was known as the Beast and he thinks Hayden could be fun. When they agree to meet, Leo thinks Hayden is not going to show up. When Hayden chickens out, Leo reluctantly agrees to try again. Hayden is in heat and Leo knows if he goes to the club, alphas will take advantage of him. Leo claims Hayden as his own, but when Hayden goes to Leo's home, Leo has a panic attack and is rude to Hayden. They have to decide if they want to be together and Leo is also having issues with his ex. Hayden and Leo have a connection, but it is hard because Leo wants Hayden as his own, but Hayden is closeted and they have to find a way to work through things. I like this story. I thought Leo blamed himself for things that were not his fault. I like how they help each other through their problems. i thought they had great chemistry and made a great couple. Good one.

Safe Word, by Alice Shaw, is another fun mpreg story, this time including some hot BDSM.
Leo and Hayden are both men who are suffering and holding themselves back from truly living. Leo, a Dom who's being stalked by his crazy ex, can't seem to move on from his past relationship problems now that his heart can't trust anyone. Hayden, who's mother is driving him crazy, is in need to being controlled. He spends all his time having to be in charge, and is searching for exactly what he finds with Leo; a way to let go.
My favorite part is when Leo has to come to terms with what happened between him and his ex. This part is just so real and touching. Once the ex gets involved, things get very interesting.
This story contains some great BDSM scenes, and even more impressive, the reasons for why BDSM works so well for these guys. One of the most important thing for these men is learning to trust. Both men will gain so much if they can truly trust one another.
Watching these two men find their way together, learning to trust and love, is an emotional, fun, and sweet journey. I would recommend Safe Word to any fan of BDSM romances.

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like Liberty from Seth King or Save the kids series from EM Leya). it’s like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books)

A sweet, a little kinky with a few twists and turns creates a wonderful story. Two lonely heart craving a special connection and love find a forever together. A chance meeting online creates so many possibilities for these MC's. You could feel the connection and i was cheering for them to find a way to communicate and find the love they both wanted. They were able to create a better HEA than i had hoped for them.
Story-line kept me wanting to see what happened next and i enjoyed the journey. I found both men interesting. i enjoyed getting to know them and understand their needs and hopes as they discovered themselves and each other. Leo and Hayden will touch your heart!

3 stars. This hit all of my boxes. M/M, Omegaverse, BDSM, Daddy kink. Like it had it all. This could've easily been a four or five star read if the writing had been better. Lots of editing issues going on here and it made the story seem jumbled up and kind of a mess to read at times. There were plots that were unresolved in the end and the characters don't really go through any kind of development but the smut was fantastic and it was all so kinky that I'm not even mad. I enjoyed those scenes immensely and honestly that's probably terrible of me to say but oh well. I think if this had been edited better this would've been so much better but for what it is it's a fun, dirty read and the epilogue was super cute.

A great book to read!
I fell in love with Leo right away for being an alpha he had many problems to overcome. As he struggles through the different issues he has he shows his strength as he overcomes them.
Hayden is the perfect Omega for Leo because he is crying Young get strong and his personality. He has had to overcome many things in his young life and it has made him such a strong personality that he is able to stand beside his Alpha and help him overcome his issues.
I love this book it is a wonderful start of a new series and I can't wait to see what comes out in the next book.

I found this book to have: intrigue, mild BDSM, emotional issues, some drama, fantasies, a crazy ex-boyfriend, guilt, resentment, remorse, nightmares, anger issues, memories, friendship, family issues, lust, passion, love and a few steamy scenes.
The story-line & plot is quite interesting, the characters were realistic with their emotions.

Leo has been out of the scene for awhile and finds Hayden on-line and decides to meet him. He has a reputation that proceeds him. He's changed though over the last few years. A bad break up with a demanding, vindictive liar has really done a number on him. I liked Hayden and Leo together, but for Hayden to believe Leo's ex's poison ranting without question made me angry with him. I liked Hank also and hope to see him find his HEA in the future. I liked the plot and the concept but the way the book is written is very very messy ... like very very very messy, it makes it very hard to keep up with the storyline. Eventually my fuses blew after the 5th chapter.

4.5 stars. A triffle too angsty, Shaw presents a novel that speaks to mental health. Leo "the beast" controls his depression after selling his BDSM bar, while Hayden explores his bisexuality. The connection is made, however Leo's ex Patrick and Hayden's mother Sheila contribute major downers. Thank goodness for Hank, the omega with wisdom to share.
Shaw's mileau is never clarified. But the L&L maze, Leo and Hayden's abodes are painted out clearly. The central characters fill out well as the POV switches between them. The resolution isn't easy, but feels worth their efforts.

So you have two confused and lost characters in this story that really need each other. They find their way with minimal drama (thank goodness) but there is angst, deep emotions and healing.
The BDSM is not as integral to the story as in some books. It's definitely there but if you have aversion to it this may be lite enough that you can still enjoy the story.
The author has her own style, once you get use to it the story flows along well.

This is a sweet and sad story. I really enjoyed reading this. Leo is such a beautiful who deserves someone who will look after him just as he would look after them. He definitely found that in Hayden just the perfect receipe for his soul. This is a beautiful love story woth the bumps along the way.

This is Leo (The Beast) and Hayden’s story. Hayden is trying to find himself and what he wants. Leo has some pain in his past and knows exactly the kind of Omega he wants. Even though the chemistry between Leo and Hayden is steamy will they be able to work through all of their issues to find a way to be together? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and emotion not to mention steam. A good read.

Hadden is a bisexual still in the closet. Leo is living in exile. Hadden needs an Alpha to teach him life in the BDSM. Leo just needs someone to care about him. Together ,through ups and downs and tons of emotions,their love grows strong. The story moves quickly and smoothly with strong characters , a hot chemistry and steamy scenes. I enjoyed reading their story.

It wasn't what I was expecting according to the blurb. Don't think the title fits per say either. Needed editing in some places, yet not so bad I couldn't figure out what/who was what/who and didn't stop me from finishing.
The top was more needy than I'm used to reading about and the bottom was sweet as heck. Over all, it was an enjoyable read. Enough so I'll be looking in the future for Hanks story.

An all around entertaining read with a little drama, a little kink, some angst, some twists, and a crazy ex! Leo didn't want another relationship after his crazy ex, but when he met Hayden, what was supposed to be one night turns into so much more. It's a difficult journey for both men in order to get to their HEA! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was really good. Hayden and Leo were a great couple. I was rooting for them. This was a sweet story with a little bit of drama thrown in. I enjoyed it and will be looking to read more by this author.

Self discovery
Hayden is bisexual and is looking to find his daddy because he wants to be used. Leo is fighting some inner demons when Hayden reaches out to him in Grindr. They start on a journey for both of emotions that have been buried deep. A journey that only both of them can discover. Great book couldn’t put it down and had me emotionally up and down.

That's A No From Me
The story is all over the place, there is no real plot, and the characters fall in love in literal days. There's no true explanation of the bad guy, and there are too many plot holes. Every character has some kind of issue and is emotionally stunted. And editing wouldn't be remiss.

This was such weird book. I honestly didn’t know what was going on they was no explanation or world building. I don’t understand half of the book. Like how can a male have a baby and what whole alpha and omega thing wasn’t explained. Like I know what they are as in wolves but still doesn’t explain it in this book how work works. I just found this book to be confusing and not explained at all.

A very steamy M/M romance. Lots of heat is mixed with a good depth of emotion. With issues that need to be addressed and drama, this is a short and entertaining read. I am posting an honest voluntary review.
