As a lifelong dog owner, I loved this book of short stories. By the end, I knew everyone of the pups. Fred is, and will always be my favorite. He thinking’s what I usually say. And sweet Hedlee, the rescue hit the jackpot when she found Alice.

Alice Wollman has a wonderful way with her prose. Sometimes the reader dances, other times, we choke back the tears. I’ve read this a number of time when I feel the need to be transported away from my real world. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Wollman publishes next!

This is a book for anyone who knows how it feels when a dog crawls into your heart and stays there forever. It’s happy, it’s sad, it’s funny, and it gives voice to everything it means to love a dog. Perhaps most importantly, it remembers Sarah, Jessee, Charlie, Trooper, Louise, Joey, Buddy, Hooker, Johnny, Shelby and Magick. Thank you, Alice.

This book has a series of short vignettes about 1 Brittany from 103 that were rescued. This is all about #80, who was eventually named Hedlee. The stories go back and forth in time, capturing moments as Hedlee adjusts to a new family of both people and dogs. The book shows some of the challenges and many of the rewards of rehabilitating a dog that has been in a bad situation.

Cute book. I prefer the chapters written by the dogs myself ... they just add such an adorable and funny dynamic.

Poor Fred and his tragedy being “kidnapped and tortured” ... best chapter of the entire book. Oh and “The Mutt” chapter is provably my number 2.

Delightful true stories. I highly recommend this book. Reading this if you are adog owner you can relate. You will and yes some stories may bring a tear to your eye.
