After finding out that her husband of three years has been cheating on her, the only thing recently widowed Samantha Collins wants to do is to put her old life behind her. The first thing on the checklist? To sell her husband's share of the hedge fund he started with his best friend.

Only Luke Darren has different plans.

More comfortable with running the day-to-day operations of the firm, Luke has always stayed in the background, letting Jason become the face of the company. But now that Jason's gone, clients have been leaving in droves. The last thing he needs is for Samantha to leave as well. It would be the last straw for the customers who were already on the fence about pulling their money out and Luke couldn't risk that.

But soon, working with Samantha is wrecking his concentration. He's been in love with her for years and with Jason no longer in the way, being friends just isn't enough and he soon finds himself wanting more!

Fallen is a stand-alone novel.

Natasha Grace’s Fallen was a wonderful debut novel; it was a fun quick read, one I really enjoyed. I was addicted from the start, and I’m more than willing to dive into more of the author’s work in the future. In fact, I’m rather eager to see what comes next with the Billionaires of Manhattan series (in fact, there are certain characters from Fallen I would like to see more of).

In a world where romance books seem to be thrown at me from every direction – I’m unsure how I went from avoiding them to romance being my most read genre – I often find myself a wee bit nervous when trying a new author. I never go in expecting bad things – I’m not that kind of reader – but I rarely go in with the belief I’m about to find my new favourite romance author. With favourites firmly in place in my mind, I just go in hoping for a fun read.

There is no doubt in my mind that Fallen is an extremely fun read. It’s a simple story, but it is incredibly addictive. It does not quite have the depth I usually enjoy in my romance novels, but it does have a lot to it – more than enough to keep you engaged throughout, ensuring you’ll be turning the pages at a rapid pace. In fact, I found this one extremely difficult to put down. Once I started, I found myself desperate to finish – I wanted to see how every detail came together.

With a trope that is extremely popular, Natasha Grace throws in plenty of her own charm, ensuring the book has enough to make it stand out from the crowd. It has all a romance novel needs to make it a hit, along with that something uniquely the author to ensure you will be back for more. I think my favourite element of Fallen, though, was the way the business side of things was actually given some attention. Usually this aspect of such stories is there, but never looked at – it sits in the background and we fill in our own blanks – but Natasha Grace addresses the business world, giving us a little something more to bring the story to life.

With great characters, a fun storyline, and plenty to keep you entertained, Fallen will have you hooked from the first to the last page. Upon finishing, you’ll want more Natasha Grace in your future.

Without a doubt, this is a great debut and I cannot wait to see what the author brings us next.

Fallen, (Billionaires of Manhattan 1), Natasha Grace

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

I do like a romance with some luxury in it, the kind that comes from unimaginable wealth. Real escapism. I enjoyed this story but wasn't riveted to the page though, it didn't have that must-keep-reading feel.

I was a bit puzzled by Sam's quick recovery from Jason's death. Yes, she finds out he's been cheating on her, possibly for most of their marriage but she was so in love, so devoted and it was as if that just switched off.
I did like the times she was looking back at events, at how and why she'd changed, and seeing that Jason did have quite a pervasive influence over her, but it was so carefully done she didn't actually notice how much she had changed, had left behind things, habits, people he didn't like or approve of.
Luke, he was one of the truly good guys, and he'd been carrying a torch for Sam for so long. I did wonder though why he was so close with Jason when they didn't seem to have anything in common, and he knows about the constant cheating.

I wanted to shake the pair of them at times, Samantha wondering if Luke really wants her, Luke wondering if Sam really wants him....it became a bit frustrating.
When they did get together they were perfect and the heat was sizzling and well done. Sometimes that part gets so OTT it overtakes the story and I hate that, but here it fits perfectly.
Of course running a billion dollar company isn't easy and with the recent changes they all need to be on their toes, and I did like that snippet of business insights we got.

Inevitably there was The Crash, the bit where the romance goes sour and I felt that was pretty weak, it didn't really add up for me, didn't feel genuine. I like some real depth to a story, some top highs and lows I can wallow in for a bit and I felt that for much of this story it was just mid-line. Perfect for others, just not for me.

Stars: Three, a decent read and one many will love, but a little short on drama and depth for me.

This debut novel by Natasha Grace, is a forbidden lovers to enemies story, which was well written. I found it hard to get into it in the beginning but after a while I did become involved in it, in some ways it moved too fast and at other times too slow. It didn’t have the must read feel for me but I just had to find out what happened in the end.

Luke was the behind the scenes guy in a business he built with his friend, Jason. Now that Jason is gone, he is forced to take the drivers seat, he’s dedicated to the clients and the business they built together. He’s also been in love with Samantha even when she was married to his best friend. So he was more than happy to comfort her and more after she learned some bad news about her late husband. Sam was so angry and hurt it felt like she was just getting back at Jason but, she soon realized she had feelings too. I'm not sure how I feel about him. I felt like he kind of took advantage of the situation because of Jason’s recent death and her heartbreak in addition to the news of his infidelity. But, she wasn't exactly resisting his advances.

Although they are quick to jump into bed this secret relationship grows slowly, as it takes them awhile to both get there. I would have liked more dialogue between the characters. I think it would have helped me connect with them better. There was something about Sam that I didn’t really care for, maybe it was her lack of excitement.

I will be watching to see what this author writes next, she’s definitely worth another read.

Ya just never know...

Normally, I don't read widow books; it's a topic I don't like to think about, and since reading is a hobby, I will, quite contentedly, bury my head in the sand as far as that topic goes.

But, this synopsis was interesting...her beloved (now dead) husband was not the man she thought he was. Now THAT was an intriguing concept, and one I haven't come across.

Sam was dealt a tough hand, and Natasha did a great job of making me feel what Sam felt when she learned of her deceased husband's...extracurricular activities, as well as her metamorphosis from "how could I have been so screwed over" to "screw it, I'm over it."

And I really felt for Luke; he had been tortured by having to work alongside the woman he loved from afar, and her husband who Luke knew didn't deserve her.

I have to say that the internal back-and-forth Luke and Sam had with themselves throughout was a tad repetitive and a little exhausting at times.

In addition, the final scene seemed a bit rushed...it was too quick of a way to wrap up all of the drama that had happened shortly beforehand, and if Sam were me, I'd totally be like, "Uh, Luke, WTF?! We need to seriously talk this out first!"

That all being said, this was a great debut book for Natasha and I would DEFINITELY read more books in this series!

(I was given a copy of this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

Samantha loses her husband in a car wreck. He owned a hedge fund company and she worked there too. When going through the things the police gave her, she finds his phone. Come to find out he’d been cheating on her. Luke a partner in the firm told her years ago but she didn’t believe him. Luke has been in love with her but couldn’t tell her because she was married to his best friend.
Sam shows up at Luke’s apartment and tells him what she found. They talk and then she kisses him which leads to sex. She wants a fling and wants to keep it a secret. They go on for months, Luke wants to go public but Sam doesn’t. When he realizes Sam is distracting him at work, he breaks up with her. After him wanting her for so long he just drops her. At the same time Sam realizes she loves him and plans to tell him but he beats her to it with his bombshell. When at the end he gets mad at her for bringing his stuff over to him when he has packed up her stuff to give back. She thinks he’s cheated on another woman with her and Luke can’t get over her only wanting a fling. Can they figure out want they truly want or move on with their lives?

Fairly good story. Steamy sex scenes. Two people where one is wants to get revenge against her dead husband and the other doesn’t believe he can get the girl. I wanted to smack some sense into both.

Okay, I have to be honest and say that for the first 20% of this book, I was quite bored. The build up seemed to last an age and I found myself not wanting to continue, however after that it did pick up pace and was an enjoyable read.

I didn’t much like Sam to be honest with you, she was quite dull, she had no excitement, even when her and Luke were together really. The person that held the book together for me really was Luke. His personality was enjoyable to read although I do wish he’d have had a little more backbone in his personal relationships as he seems to do with his professional ones.

The plot was okay, the storyline is one that I do like to read but as I said I wished that first 20% had just dragged me in from the get go and it would have been a five star read for me.

I would definitely recommend though for an easy read.

It was a nice book, well-written and entertaining. A bit too fast-paced for my liking in some parts though. Sam and Luke were interesting and relatable in their feelings. More communication and honesty would have saved a lot of trouble but as expected, seeing where they are coming from, all was for a reason. I missed the "can't put this book down" feeling and skipped a few pages here and there but i still had a good time with this story.

I received a copy of this book by the author in exchange of an honest review

I really liked the story.

Sam's recent loss left her feeling empty inside. However, her marriage was nothing as it seemed. Slowly, she began to realise that she was the only one in the marriage.

Luke had watched from the sidelines, pining after the woman he loved. When his friend passed away, he finally had the chance to take what he wanted all along. But, could he do that to his friend? Surely, even in death, he was still breaking some sort of bro code.

The story was really sweet. It kept me turning the page to see how it unfolded, but I did wish there'd been more dialogue. One word answers were followed by a lot of narration; I found myself having to go back to remember what they were talking about in the first place.

Overall, a good read, and a sweet romance.

As debut novels go, this isn't bad.  The premise is reasonable and, for the most part, competently delivered.

The best parts of this story, for me at least, were when Luke and Samantha were interacting without second guessing each other and their feelings - that did become a little frustrating after a while.

I did wonder about the speed of turnaround of Samantha's feelings for her husband, but understand what the author was trying to convey.

All in all? A decent romance that I liked, though it didn't set me alight.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Doch was wird Luke dazu sagen?

I'll start by saying that I appreciated a fresh idea in this contemporary romance, blending the world of stocks and finance into a romance! Samantha intelligent and caring, having several wonderful qualities despite losing her husband and then learning the truth about him afterward. However, I feel that Luke is definitely the shining star in this novel and that his character was much more developed than Samantha. Luke is professional, driven, and often, extremely stressed out regarding the backlash Jason's death has had on the company. The fantastic thing about Luke in this novel is, the reader gets quite a treat watching him make changes and expand his life in ways not solely related to the company. Don't get me wrong, he certainly has some bad moments, but overall, I think he rocked this novel.

Fallen's overall plot was engaging and interesting, as were the subplots regarding Samantha and Luke's own personal growth and developments. I was definitely hooked, wanting to know what would happen next regarding all aspects of the story. However, despite the unique setting of being in the hedge fund world, I found it tiresome at times. There are several segments of the novel providing back information about the company getting started, various roles and responsibilities, and various successes and failures that occasionally felt irrelevant. When the author was focused on the characters personally, the novel flowed wonderfully, but when things were focused on the business, I felt it was more of telling, rather than showing.

Back to less critical thoughts, I truly enjoyed this novel and look forward to future novels from this talented author. Hopefully, since there is a "book 1" in this title, there will be future installments of this series and I cannot wait to read more. Although technically a "billionaire" novel, Natasha Grace created a story that is relatable, a romance that was realistic, and characters that were likable and facing real-world problems just like anyone else. Congrats on this debut!

Fallen is the first book in the Billionaires of Manhattan and my first Natasha Grace read, I really enjoyed this book as it was a great 2nd chance love novel and easy to read.

Samantha thought she had the perfect marriage they balanced work and their personal life together, then her husband was killed in a car accident. When she restart’s her life, she finds out that Luke Darren her husbands business partner never lied to her, her husband was a cheater. Samantha wants nothing to do with the company she grew to love and asked Luke to buy her out, selling their home and donating numerous items to charity, all reminders of her late cheating husband. Luke is hiding a secret one that he has held onto for years, now is his chance to lay it all out on the table.

I really liked Samantha, she held her head high and even though she held herself back in fear of having her heartbroken she didn’t let the past destroy her. Luke was selfless in way and selfish at the same time, he was a gun in his professional life but was soft and loving when the appropriate time came.

They have chemistry, I don’t think they both realised how much until they came together. It is one thing to fantasise about it but acting it out can change everything and these two didn’t disappoint.

I found Natasha to be on point with every part of this book, I loved that there was obstacles and small doses of drama to keep me turning the page. Having both POV’s is always a bonus in my eyes, I love reading what the characters are feeling and how they are processing each moment.

I personally really liked this book and if you are looking for a 2nd chance romance that is down to earth and has that warm fuzzy feeling when you turn the last page, this is the book for you. I cannot wait to see who is the next lucky Billionaire of Manhattan to grace the pages of the next book.

There is a lot about this book that I will happily hold my hands up and say that I loved, but that doesn’t mean that it all got my approval because there are other things that whilst I can’t say I totally disliked them, I would say that I would have liked it a lot more if the story had gotten to the good stuff quicker.
The first few chapters just seemed a little laboured but once they were out of the way the story and characters took off and I was totally hooked.
Once the author had hit her stride, it was as if she was possessed because there was no let-up in the pace. I loved the environment, the financial aspect of the story and all that the complexities of that environment brought to the story, although on occasion I did feel as if I was bombarded with a little too much information that I didn’t really want.
But what about the characters?
Well Sam, I would say I was initially ambivalent to, she just seemed to give off a lacklustre vibe, she was obviously an intelligent woman, but I didn’t seem to be able to find what it was that that made her shine and that was frustrating …Luke on the other hand, I loved.
Luke was almost a tale of two personalities, when it came to business, he was totally driven, I can’t say ruthless, he was every bit the businessman and I felt for him dealing with everything that Jason’s death foisted upon the company and in turn onto his shoulders. But what I was taken aback by was the grown that he underwent as the story unfolded, he wasn’t perfect, but he really came into his own.
Together they were a solid couple that seemed to balance each other out and that gave their situation credence and brought a semblance of normality to what was going on not only between but also to them
On the whole I would say that I found this a great first read from an author that was new to me and I look forward to seeing what she delivers next.

This was a first for this author for me, and I can say that I don't see it being my last. The basis of the this story was one that I haven't seen much. Yes there is those love stories of the guy or girl falling for their dead friends significant other. But this one did things a little differently. You never got to see the relationship that was, right off the bat you are taken into 2 week after the death.
Luke is someone that has been having to live with the fact that he has wanted his friends wife all these years. And now shes, but can he allow himself to go there with her?
Sam was living a life with blinders on when it came to her husband, now there are things that have come to light that she didn't want to believe when she was told them years ago, by someone that she has resented for years. Now she has to come to not only terms that her husband is gone, but that he was the man that she thought that he was.
The story that is Luke and Sam was one that grabbed my attention and was able to keep it from being to end. The struggle that they both where putting themselves through was something that had me reading page after page to see, if these two could allow themselves to find the one person that could make them happy. And the fact that this was a split POV book helped in the way that there was jot just one way of seeing the events that unfolded. Both Sam and Luke had their own emotions and troubles that they were working through and to be able to see how they both were handling things was something that was needed to fulling connect to each of the characters.

Samantha's mourning her husband Jason who was killed in crash, trying to come to terms with losing her love she returns back to the business he ran with his partner Luke. She always kept her distance from Luke as she didn't think he wanted or liked her there and after he told her Jason was cheating on her three yrs previous she thought it best to avoid him. She started looking back at how much her life and she had changed, she hadn't noticed how Jason had such an influence over her but it had been in such a way she had left habits and people he didn't like behind distancing herself from them. Luke was one of the good guys and he had been hiding his true feelings for Samantha for a long time, even when he told her what Jason was up to he knew it was for selfish reasons but Jason didn't deserve her and she shouldn't be treated that way. So he kept his distance but when she goes through Jason's things she finds out there was truth in what he had told her she turns to him for help.......... This is a great story of betrayal, hidden feelings, truth and emotions that are real. I enjoyed reading this and will be looking for more from the author.

Fallen (Billionaires of Manhattan) is book one of the series and my first read by this author. I did enjoy this second chance romance but I didn’t feel the intense need to turn the page.

Sam is a smart, intelligent women who gave up her dreams to be there for her husband and his company. When he died suddenly she was left to manage the company with his partner Luke. Luke has always wanted Sam for himself and when he knew her husband, his best friend was cheating he told her. Sam refused to believe him and put up a wall between her and hire husbands business partner and friend. It was only after Jason’s death did Sam find out that he was in fact cheating. It hurt!!! So to mask that hurt she turned to the one person her late husband would never want her to be with, Luke. The passion between Luke and Sam is intense and he really loves her. It’s just takes time for Sam to realize it. An enjoyable read but I at pets I did find it drag. That being said I would definitely read another by Natasha.

I really enjoyed this story and I thought that it was a great debut novel for this author. It did take me a little to get into and I didn’t warm to the characters straight away but I did want to keep reading. The pace was a little up and down at times but the flow of the story was good.
Luke – he was a funny character for me, it was pretty obvious that he had feelings for Sam and had done for a long time. I liked him I just felt maybe he took advantage of Sam a little at times.
I really did feel for Sam, she is devastated about the loss of her husband only to find things out about him that hurt even more than losing him does. I did however find it really hard to connect with her and I’m not sure why. I don’t think I knew enough about her to really form that connection.
I could definitely see potential with this author and would love to read more from her in the future.

Fazit:
Schöne Liebesgeschichte über eine Liebe mit Hindernissen.

This is the 1st book in the Billionaires of Manhattan series featuring Luke and Sam's complex emotional secret relationship, friends to lovers, second chance romance. Sam has only recently lost her husband in an accident and she always believed that their marriage was wonderful until she came across his phone showing that he had been living a completely secret life he was cheating on her. Sam wants to know if Luke her late husband's business partner knew more about her deceased husband's secret life than he's letting on so she heads over to his place. One thing leads to another and they share a special moment but that's all Sam wants she has no idea that Luke has feelings for her and he's always wanted to be with her. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this complex emotional friends to lovers, secret relationship, second chance romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Cherrylily ARCs and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A lovely read. I voluntarily read this book to give an honest review. Luke and Jason had formed a business together after meeting on the job. I enjoyed the forbidden/secret love/enemies-to-lovers tropes that this romance portrayed.

Having the story being told with so much of Luke's thoughts and feelings on display made the book a much more heart-tugging read. Portrayed as more of ice man, the reader gets a side of him that neither his employees or Sam see. Who wouldn't feel for the man full of unrequited love/lust for his best friend's wife?

Sam was a little more difficult to pin down. While some might judge her for moving on so quickly after her husband's death and her subsequent discovery of his shortcomings, Samantha took control of her life the only way she knew how. All her decisions keep leading her toward Luke, and she tries him on, not expecting him to fit her in all the ways she always dreamed a man could.

I recommend this book for a good read, where revenge turns into something much more.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Fallen by Natasha Grace
Billionaires of Manhattan Series Book One
Samantha Collins had quite the wake-up call when her husband died. Looking back on her marriage, she realized that she'd lost who she was somewhere along the way. It was time to clear her slate and start over.

Luke Darren, Jason's business partner, had always admired Sam. When she first started working for them after her marriage, he didn't think she was qualified. He'd said some things to her that had built a wall between them. Now that Jason was gone, and the truth was out...the wall came down.

This is the first book I've read from this author. It was definitely a story that sucked me in and wouldn't let go until the end. A definite page-turner with great characters.

Sam Collins was a good analyst at her husbands company.. the story starts with her husband Jason dying from a car crash so she’s the becomes the part owner of the company him and his friend Luke built together.. soon after Sam finds out that her husband Jason was cheating on her with multiple women she finds closure in the arms of Luke and feeling like she makes a mistakes leaves the company..

Sam was loved by all but I needed some description as to why she was never able to confront her husband so he got away with being a cheater and she never able to speak to all these women on her ex husbands phone

But I guess she definitely proved a point that the best way to forget about someone is to go under someone else..

It’s recommended so i gave it a 4 but I felt like it was missing something and it was too long

I was expecting something different

I'm happy I read this. Natasha's writing was great! But I was hoping for more angst. There really wasn't any. We know Sam's husband, was cheating on her. She was worried about trusting another man. Not wanting to be blindsided again. I would have liked to have seen some of Luke's one night stands, come back, hoping for more. He wasn't really a playboy but he did to go through a lot of one night stands and short term relationships, trying to replace Sam. This would make Sam insecure with Luke's declarations. Also, Sam's husband, Jason, was having and had many affairs. Many of those women Sam knew them through Jason's charity events. But whenever Sam went to a gala, she never bumped into any of these women. Being confronted a time of two, would have brought the angst up. This was more what I was expecting.

I received a copy of this ebook several years ago through a goodreads giveaway and just now got around to reading. Honestly, I would have been fine never reading. I think I’m being generous with 2 stars. I gave a second one because there could have been so much potential if the whole book was literally not just one big miscommunication trope.

This is my first (and probably last) miscommunication trope novel. Because what?! Like that was so frustrating and annoying. There wasn’t a real plot or any character developments. Literally for 290 pages I felt like I was reading about a relationship between 12 year olds (minus the spicy parts). It was so much back and forth but in their heads. Seemed juvenile. When that wasn’t happening not much else was but slight spicy stuff. The last 10 pages or so just seemed sudden.

Sam is now a widow and finds out her husband had affairs through most of their marriage. Luke was his business partner in the company they formed and he has loved Sam from the start. A company and an spouses image are changing drastically. Luke asks Sam to join him as he tries to keep the business afloat. Working together puts an interesting spin on their relationship as it changes quickly. The characters are well developed with great backstories and intense emotions and feelings. The storyline is a roller coaster ride of problems, solutions, plans of attack, big decisions, drama, surprises, romance and much more. The ending was a great way to bring it all together.

This was the first book I've read of Natasha Grace's and I enjoyed getting lost in Luke and Samantha's story. Samantha has to pick her life back up after losing her husband. She has to find a new normal. And with Luke's role in the company and their lack of a good working relationship, things are hard for Samantha. However, as some truths about her husband are discovered, she also learns new things about Luke. I enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve and things and feelings between them started growing. Samantha was also growing and figuring a new life out for herself and wasn't looking for a new romance. I thought this was a cute read!
