I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I liked the way the stories flowed. It starts mostly in the human world (Tempe, AZ) and gradually transitions into the Vampire world of Verno. As much as I liked Vince (for a Vampire prince he is remarkably not over the top arrogant), I absolutely loved John. John makes a lot of transitions throughout the books, helping to really move the story along. John and Vince together make a sweet couple, though not without their problems (both internal and external) that make it anything but easy. There is a good bit of world-building with the vampire world and I like how it is gradually melded into the story, that as the vampire world becomes more and more of a setting we get more and more information.
I'm hoping there will be more books based in this world because there are some points that felt unfinished to me. There was a lot of build-up in the later stories with secondary characters that never came to a conclusion and left it feeling a bit incomplete to me.

Fun vampire romance
There were several instances where it felt like something was missed, or edited out in error during the course of this book. For example, when John begged Vince to never change him, and seemed to be fearful. At that point, John had no idea what that entailed, so what was he afraid of? Was it just fear of drinking blood? Of no longer being human? I never quite got a clear understanding of exactly what was going on with that.
Otherwise, I liked seeing Vince and John grow stronger as a couple. I liked seeing John respect the traditions of the vampires while working with Vince to be true to himself. I liked that both characters needed to discover what priorities meant the most to them as they made the choice to be together.

Ultimately, I loved that John made the choice to become a vampire because otherwise this would just have been a rather bittersweet HFN, with a very depressing outlook on Vince's future.

While I'm not new to reading vampire romance, a gay vampire romance was new ground to me and I'm so glad I took the plunge. Vincent is a hot gay vampire exiled prince that lives among the humans running his cupcake bakery. John is a hot detective in denial about his sexuality and definitely in the closet. The series takes you through the history of Vince's past and why he is exiled and of course the struggles that John has coming to terms with his sexuality. The sex scenes are very explicit, just an FYI for you other readers out there. There is a lot of steaminess, action, drama to keep everyone enthralled. I look forward to reading more from these great authors!

This was an interesting series about two men, one a cop and the other a vampire, who find attraction in one another. The story is quite well written; however I would have preferred for john to be more open about his sexuality and love for Vincent. The story takes the reader on an extremely intriguing love story and adventure including murder, hidden romance and of course the love of John and Vincent, even if it is not made public.

All was going well under John Reeder come along, John knows he hiding something only what? Once John learns of Vincent's secrets how will things turn? Can Vincent and John make a go of it or will John turn is back on him. How will the orbus taking Vincent breaking the three rules? This was amazing story loved it.

I really enjoyed this set, which tells the story of an exiled vampire and a closeted cop. Vince begins as murder suspect, but he has deep secrets while the cop who leads that case John deals with secrets pf his own. As the stories progressed their love does too. It’s beautiful and they sacrifice so much for each other. There’s mistery, murder and a conspiracy against the Lord Heir, and lots of loving between the MC. Family is important to both and that was a great touch.

Wow what a story to say the least filled with drama on and off the call for duty!!! It cant get any better then a vampire falling for a human which he is warned not to because its against the rules of the High council BUT he finds a way to be with John even after the murder case was solved the story continues into the 2nd book and man there are some pretty hot situations going on as well as tension between john and Vincent

What a fun guilty pleasure read series
I chose five stars because I have guilty pleasure reads once in awhile and this was a fun romp read.
I was a fan of a few characters but really this read is mostly for those who live for angst and steamy bedroom scenes between hot guys and hot vampires.
Great that this is the box set. I could just binge it.

I really enjoyed this boxset. The series follows Vincent who is exiled to live among the humans, happens to be a vampire and owns a bakery. John is the cop in charge of the investigation of what happened to Vincents landlord.
There is drama, action, sparks flying and steamy times.

I really enjoyed this box set. The world building was great and the vampire lore was interesting. The characters, for the most part, were great and the storyline developed at a consistent pace. I did become a tad frustrated with John and his actions, but that just made me love Vince all that much more!

Fantastic story
Wow where to start, this is by far my favorite set of books. This is a fantastic story, love the characters and their roles in the story. Love the way you weave the two worlds together and how the characters deal with emotions and day to day real life events. Love it.

What a great boxed set! Even though Books 1&2 could be read as a standalones with HFN endings, I would recommend reading them like this... all 3 together. I was immediately invested in this storyline and these characters. Great storytelling!!

Great characters, great story. I wanted to give 4 stars but I thought there were too many sex scenes that could have been more storyline.
