From their earliest gig in a Denmark school gymnasium on September 7, 1968, through to the last gig that Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones ever performed with John Bonham, in Berlin on July 7, 1980, this is the Led Zeppelin story told from where their legend was forged—live on stage. Deploying impeccable research spread over many years, Dave Lewis and Mike Tremaglio bring clarity, authority, and perspective to the band's unique story.
This was the most comprehensive book out there for Led Zeppelin performances, then guess what? A couple of tapes were found. Detroit 72 and Glasgow 73 are now circulating and now the book needs updating. I'm not being serious...this book is awesome. It's awesomely heavy. It's so heavy the box it came in was destroyed when delivered. This is one of those books you pick up and glance through when you're curious about a particular Led Zeppelin show. The amount of research done for this book is astounding. I wonder if there's more to be found that wasn't included in the book.....I'm sure there is. Keep up the good work Dave and Mike.
Reading about the night I went to see Led Zeppelin in 1977 was like reliving the concert. Reviews, venue pictures, and ticket stubs enhance the experience. The attention to detail is utterly amazing! A complete reference book I'll be reading over and over again. This is THE ultimate book for all Led Zeppelin fans.
