Pit Stop: Baby!

Rate this book
We had the hottest hookup ever. And now, she’s having my baby.

I’m a carefree single guy.

A successful race car driver who enjoys hitting the track—hard.

I don’t do commitments.

Hell, I rarely even do repeats.

Until I spent the night with a gorgeous, funny woman who rocked my world.

No names. No identifying details. Just lots and lots of pleasure.

Until we meet up again at my older brother’s wedding. And guess what, she’s my brand new sister-in-law, Rylee Ford.

And apparently, now she hates me.

Oh, and she’s also pregnant. Surprise, I’m the daddy.

I’m so screwed.

Author’s note: Gage doesn’t start out as a single father... but it sure doesn’t take long for implantation to occur. Pit Stop: Baby is a standalone romantic comedy with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

There was no excitement or the feel that keeps you guessing for what will happen next.

I’ve enjoyed the Dirty DILF’s series quite a bit, but have to say that Pit Stop: Baby is my new favorite. There was something a bit refreshing about two people who hook up then find out their siblings are marrying one another and months later find out their hook up left them with a surprise baby. What I loved most is that while they both were surprised, and maybe a bit scared, they were both determined to be good parents to their child.

Rylee was a free spirit and has always lived her life on the edge, flitting from job to job when she got bored and genuinely enjoying her single status and life in general. Moving to the small town her sister has settled in with her husband, Rylee likes her job despite not really liking her boss and she is making friends, but when her brother in law’s brother and the man she hooked up with before knowing he was blows back into town, life gets a lot more interesting and complicated.

Giving up NASCAR racing and after driving across country Gage is still trying to figure out why he feels so unsettled. Deciding to spend time with his parents and his brother brings him back to the east coast where he hopes to gain some perspective he just doesn’t expect it to come wrapped in the beautiful package that is the woman he hasn’t been able to forget.

There was something about the way Gage just barreled through life determined to find his happiness that made me smile. I loved his easy going temperament and the way he didn’t let the prickly people (like Rylee and his brother Dare) in this life get him down. He was determined to find happiness he just didn’t realize he’d find it in the tiny town of Crescent Cove with a woman that challenges him on a daily basis. I loved Gage and Rylee together; their passion, they way they complimented one another, and the way they wanted to show the people in their lives that while they might not have planned their pregnancy, they were going to do whatever it took to do right by their child. The heat between them was undeniable and I enjoyed watching them fall for one another each and every day.

Pit Stop: Baby was a delightful story that was sweet, sexy, and enjoyable from the first chapter to the last.

I love DILFs, who doesn’t? And in this installment of this funny and steamy series, I was swooning all over Gage. The man was so taken by Rylee it was adorable. You know it’s true love when a man can even love your crazy.

Rylee was a hot mess, but it was in an adorable and quirky way. She’s still at the age of trying to find who she is and Gage was perfectly okay with that. He had the hots for her and he was determined to make sure she saw it.

I loved how determined he was. To prove to his family and to Rylee that he was done with all his traveling that came with his fame. He was so ready to put down roots and he wasn’t letting Rylee slip through his fingers. It was just so sweet!!! And with Rylee all over the place at time, her character provided the levity of keeping the story light and funny.

I LOVED IT!

In every romance I read I always hope for a surprise/unexpected baby 😂. It's one of my guilty pleasures in my books so it's no surprise that I mostly loved this series.

I did not finish the previous book which I think was about Gage's brother and Ry's sister who do appear here, but it in no way hindered my enjoyment of this one
This is a low angst, sweet often funny read of a ONS turning into something more. Gage was a sweetheart in his determined pursuit of Rylee,he was loyal and charming and took the baby news very well. I adored him with Rylee.
Rylee hasn't been able to hold down a job her whole life, she's a bit scattered but she's trying to get her life together. Though she was stubborn and believed that eventually Gage would get bored and lead she was still funny, strong and sweet.
The mcs of the previous books appear, with Dare and Kels featuring quite a bit which turned out to be unfortunate because Dare's judgement of Gage soured the book a bit for me. He eventually came around but by then I didn't like him at all.
All in all this book gave me everything I'd been hoping for and I honestly can't wait for more in this series.

Minor Quibbles

In Rylee's inner thoughts she mentioned trying to overcome being known as "good time Rylee" .from this a d other little comments she made her past seems to be the type where I'd have stopped reading but thankfully no details are given so I was able to just ignore the little hints.
I wanted to see the baby born!!!!!! I wanted to experience it
from their pov 😭though I'm assuming they appear in the next book this one ended too abruptly for me.

I love this series and am hopeful that these author's deliver more baby goodness!

Gage likes to remember the good times, “I remember the claw marks I wore for days after you left me.” Gage pays attention to his woman, “first of all, hello—not a girl.” She grinned around a crunchy bite. “And I’m well aware you’re not wearing a bra. You’re trying to kill me.” I loved this book, I loved Gage.

I'm actually reading the compilation "Santa Baby" with the 4 books in this series but I thought it would be better to review each book as I finish it.

Unfortunately...this was the last book in this series and is Rylee and Gage's story. These two are in-laws but were introduced in the 3rd book as a hook up. Surprise when they both end up moving into town!

Borrowed through Kindle readers library.
And I’m glad I did because this was very short for the purchase price.
First thing first, the brother and sister were hypocritical jerks. They’d have gotten a serious tearing down by me.
Second, why does everyone love Rylee? She’s a bit bratty. She never really respected Gage.
I am still curious enough about Vee and Moose to read their book.

This book was sent to me by the author's for an honest review. I only have two complaints. First, the book was not long enough. Second, the ending was not quite as satisfying as it could have been. I loved Gage and Rylee together. The chemistry is off the charts and I loved how Gage just had this strong instinct to take care of Rylee. Rylee is stressing because she has started sleepwalking and is afraid something serious might happen when she does it. Marcy catches her in the act but decides not to press charges. Rylee isn't too sure how she feels about Gage being back but she doesn't trust that he will stick around. When Gage does go home, he gets a feeling that he is where he is supposed to be. No matter what he does or says, he can't seem to convince anyone that he is there to stay. When Rylee discovers she is pregnant, she already starts imagining a future without Gage in it. She is also afraid that Gage will think that she is a freak because of her sleepwalking. When he doesn't freak out but comes up with ways to try to help instead, she is still feeling wary about him being around. Even Gage's brother Dare doesn't believe that Gage will stick around. Once he does convince everyone that he is there to stay, things start to look on the brightside. The ending left me hanging because I feel like there is so much more to their story. I loved both characters from the beginning and I feel like they were cheated out of a better ending

A fun read with a famous race car driver who comes home and meets up with this beautiful feisty woman who is all about a one and done. That was music to Gage’s ear but he left for the road once again and when he returned home a little later this woman had left her mark on him (literally) and he wanted more from her…even though his brother was married to her sister.

This was a feel good book that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. I fell in love with Gage and Rylee and would love to read more about these two.

Gage is looking for something, but he is not sure what is missing until he meets Rylee. She is just trying to stand on her own for the first time. I love how independent Rylee is. It is not often that a sleep disorder is part of a romance but I really enjoyed how it was handled. I could feel the anxiety, the fear, and the confusion that Rylee was experiencing. I liked how, as the younger siblings, they had to prove their maturity to their older siblings when they are faced with a surprise pregnancy. I really like the friendships that Rylee builds with the girls in the coffee shop and how Gage supports her spreading her wings with her creative side.

Audio Review: Pit Stop: Baby! (Crescent Cove, #4) by Taryn Quinn, Narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross

The bigger they are the harder they fall. Crescent Cove grabbed me many books ago and has retained it's hold on me ever since. I love to watch how a baby changes the dynamic of two people who never saw it coming. Gage and Rylee pulled me into their hangups and ran away with my heart. Ross and Kennicott gave even more vibrancy to one of my favorite series. Refreshing, heartwarming and humorous are temptingly addictive fun.

This story was super cute, strangers on a one night stand to their siblings getting married to OOOPS!!

Fun story and their chemistry was great! Some fun twists in the story too! Almost drama at all which very unusual for a romance story lol

This is narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. I very much adore their narrations! Their voices blend very well and they don’t hesitate to act out the giggle and sighs and groans and growls along with the words! Brings it to life that much more!

For me there was a definite feeling of missing out as did not read 3rd book with older brother Dare's story.

Gage and Rylie however are a lot of fun to get to know and their rocky road to a well deserved HEA was a pleasure to read.

Low on angst and drama, I really enjoyed this story. It was charming, adorable, sexy and romantic – just what I needed to read to lighten my week. Adored Gage's loving acceptance and adaptability for Rylee's personal challenges - so lovely. Some hilarious moments with characters from previous stories in this series, who showed both the challenges of being a parent, but also that closeness and sexy times didn’t stop when they became parents. Loved it – going on my 2018 Favourites List.

Sex leads to love.

I liked the story plot but felt there were way too many unnecessary explicit sexual situations given through out the book.

REVIEW: PIT STOP: BABY is the fourth instalment in Taryn Quinn’s (Cari Quinn / Taryn Elliott) contemporary, adult CRESCENT COVE erotic, romance series. This is retired NASCAR driver Gage Kramer, and Rylee Ford’s story line. PIT STOP: BABY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Gage and Rylee were first introduced in book three WHO’S THE DADDY.

Told from dual first person perspectives ( Gage and Rylee) PIT STOP: BABY follows the building relationship between twenty six year old Rylee Ford, and retired NASCAR driver Gage Kramer. Three months earlier Gage and Rylee had a one night stand before discovering that each others siblings were to be married the next day. Fast forward to present day wherein Gage returns to his home town in search of his future only to discover his one –night stand from months before. Enter Rylee Ford, struggling to find a place in the world, and the woman with whom Gage would fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Rylee and Gage, and the announcement of another Ford-Kramer baby, on the way.

After making a scene at their sibling’s wedding three months earlier, Rylee and Gage were on the outs with their respective kin. Issues of trust and a lack of communication, hurt feelings and jealousy are plenty to over come but adding a pregnancy into the emotion-fueled sibling rivalry makes for many uncomfortable moments for everyone concerned.

The relationship between Rylee and Gage is a ‘second chance’ of a sorts; a one-night stand that turns into something more including the announcement of an unplanned pregnancy. Gage is determined to win Rylee’s heart but our heroine struggles with more personal issues that Rylee fears will push Gage out of her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful secondary and supporting character include Rylee’s sister Kelsey, and Gage’s brother Dare (Who’s The Daddy #3), real estate entrepreneur Oliver Hamilton and his wife Sage (Claim My Baby #2), as well as café owner Macy Devereaux, baker Vee, café customer Murphy ‘Moose’ Masterson; Gage’s friend Tish Burns, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Kramer. Moose and Vee’s story line is next in BABY DADDY WANTED.

The world building continues to focus on the ‘unplanned’ and ‘unexpected’ pregnancies in the tight knit group of family and friends. The conflict is limited to Rylee’s embarrassment of what was, and her ongoing personal issues at home.

PIT STOP: BABY is a story of family and friendship; second chances and falling in love. The premise is heartwarming ; the characters are sassy but tender; the romance is captivating and hot. PIT STOP: BABY is a fun, energetic and enjoyable instalment in the authors’ Dirty DILF’s romance series.

Wonderful Story & Audible Listen🎧 Rylee💘Gage!

Pit Stop: Baby!
Crescent Cove, Book 4
By: Taryn Quinn
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross

Taryn Quinn pens another awesome novel and I loved everything about it, from their wonderful writing style to the storylines and characters they created, as well as where their stories are set, Crescent Cove. I think I fell in love with Crescent Cove a few novels ago, it is always great to return there. This is Rylee Ford and Gage Kramer’s story, Rylee is new to town she is Kelsey’s sister and is trying to make it on her own. She takes the apartment above the coffee shop Brewed Awakening. Gage is a race car driver, he has been racing the circuit for a while but is at the point of considering more. He and Rylee had a one night stand the last time he was in town, Rylee was happy with the one and done night of passion but Dare had not stopped thinking about her. He is having thoughts of settling down in Crescent Cove, considering opportunities with his brother but Dare does not take him serious, he believes he will eventually return to the racing world. Rylee thinks the same, that is just one of the reasons she does not want to get involved with him. I adored these two character, Rylee for her strength and independence, Dare of his determination and drive. I love how well plotted their story is and how everything played out. There is never a dull moment, there is plenty of drama, angst, some humor and a build up to a wonderful romance. I highly recommend this enjoyable and entertaining book, actually I’ll go even further and recommend the entire series, Crescent Cove is a wonderful place to visit, the characters and stories are a delight. Thank you Taryn Quinn for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. They are amazing at projecting the characters emotions, as well as the drama of the story into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen🎧

The couple: Gage and Rylee

Romance trope: one night stand
Series: Crescent Cove
Length: 235 pages

Plot: Gage and Rylee meet at a bar one night and spend a pleasurable passing evening together. They are quite surprised to find themselves both at their siblings' wedding (to each other) when they hadn't even exchanged names. Gage is happy to pursue Rylee but she doesn't want anything more and has a big secret of her own that she thinks will be a dealbreaker. He has some challenges to overcome, but these two black sheep will have to decide whether or not to make a go of it.

Commentary: Both Gage and Rylee are treated like irresponsible children, and while they are still young-ish, they're both employed (although it's weird that nobody asks Rylee why she switches jobs so often and she lets them all think she's just flighty), pretty much on their own, with no shirked responsibilities (despite the fact that Dare thinks Gage should be at home helping their parents). It feels like that attitude toward them carried on a bit too long, especially from Dare - he was over the top with it and maybe that was just his own stress from his own problems, but it was not okay! I wish someone had shut him down, and hard.

Previous book in the series: Who's the Daddy
Next book in the series: Baby Daddy Wanted

Who knew a hot one night stand would end up leading to so much?! Certainly not Gage and Rylee when they indulged after a fun bet on a game of darts. But when they meet up later, Rylee's not exactly feeling the hot guy she hooked up with before knowing he was her brother in law's brother (Dare from Who's the Daddy). Yikes...

Rylee's finally (maybe?) settling into this small town, near her sister, and with a new job and a new place. And then Gage rolls into town and upsets her fragile peace. But her body can't resist him for very long and soon they're giving into their attraction all over the place. Seems like fun, and it was until she ended up pregnant. Pregnant by Mr. one and done, race car driver himself. The man who doesn't do commitment and doesn't stick around. But for Rylee and his soon to come baby, he just might stick around. Scratch that, he will definitely stick around. Now if only Rylee would believe. Believe in his feelings for her. Believe that he wants forever with her and their baby.

Gah I loved Pit Stop: Baby!! I thought I adored the Hamilton twins and Dare, but honestly, they've got nothing on Gage. Gage is the sweetest, sexiest hero in the Dirty DILFs world, by far! He's so determined to stick by Rylee, and I loved seeing him fall for her, and not fight it. Rylee fought it, though, boy did she. But she was adorable in her own way, and absolutely perfect for Gage. These two authors have definitely upped the ante on the Dirty DILFs series - I can't wait to see if Vee's story is as delicious and sweet as Pit Stop: Baby!

It was enjoyable reading this book. Also, to experience the drama along with the bantering, these friendships went through. I read book three, it was the first one in the series, I started with. In that book, I noticed that the town is running a blue light special, on pregnant mamas. There must be something in the water. At the end of the book, and the beginning of this one, Kelsey and, Dare’s wedding we find out that, Gage and, Rylee had a one-off.

To say it ruffled a few feathers is a minor detail. Everyone expects, Gage, to be an a-hole about not only their night together but, also the reason he's not getting back into the racing world. However, me the reader, I am not expecting the open hostility he has to endure from, Dare. Not just that being thrown under the bus, numerous times by, Rylee. The woman is a flake, at best with her sleepwalking. This is a huge factor, however, if she would just be open about it with him, he would help.

It has changed her outlook on life. Making her less trusting of others over one boyfriend who did not step up for her. Here’s the thing he was a boy. Gage is a man, a caring man at that. He even starts to see long-term possibilities. No more racing for him. But, because of his brother and her sister, she has no faith in his word. It's time for action. When the garage owner told, Gage he wanted to sell he got excited especially, when he saw all the vintage cars in the junk out back.

He knew something else something had been bothering his brother other than just him. But, the garage closing would do it. With a new wife and another baby on the way. That alone would scare/worry anyone. However, when he brings it up to Dare he is treated like the dumb little brother who knows nothing about the real world. At the same time, he can't get, Rylee to see he’s staying so he sets out to start planting roots.

This was such a good story. Seeing the prickly pear grow a flower so beautiful that it shines bright for all to see. They share their darkest secrets from their darkest corners. Thereby, moving into a much stronger relationship, and getting their HEA.

This is book 4 in the Dirty DILFs series and it can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the ones before this one, especially as those characters are seen in this book and these characters are introduced in the previous book. This one is about Rylee and Gage. Rylee and Gage met up at a bar and decided to have a one night stand-no names and it was supposed to be a one and done. Until they saw each other again at her sister's (and his brother's) wedding! Not only was it a surprise to them but it ended up being a surprise to everyone when they made a spectacle during it! Fast forward and Gage has just spent time traveling across the country to come home and finally decide if he truly wants to leave racing. But if he leaves what will he do instead? Rylee is trying to get her life in order, she has always been a free spirit but she feels like it's time to grow up. She just doesn't know what she wants to do with her life. And with some other things happening, she's not sure what to do other than try to forge ahead. Neither plan on meeting up again, but when they do, neither can stay away from the other. And when the unexpected happens? They both need to decide what will happen now.

I absolutely loved this one! Now see I liked the other ones and the last one was my favorite of the series but this blew it out of the water in my opinion! There is a specific part of the book that made me laugh so hard I was crying! And all I will say is to remember book, because I don't want to ruin it! That whole scene with Rylee and what was going through her mind and what she says will crack you up! Rylee and Gage both made me laugh but they also make you believe that you can get the things you need, if you just work for them. And the way they end up working things out at the end? It was an awesome thing! Now I really need a story about Macey!! And with the introduction of another new character, we need hers too!!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my first three visits and was looking forward to this one. Didn't know what to expect as Rylee and Gage were both portrayed as the wild ones of their families. And the fact that there was going to be a baby involved? Oh my. But I loved it. They were cute together, even though their older siblings, Dare and Kelsie, treated them like children. Sure, they both had reputations of being irresponsible, but I was so invested that I got upset on their behalf, lol.

I was glad that they stuck it out. I loved watching them grow as a couple, working out some of their issues. I enjoyed this story so much that I was sad for it to end. There was so much that I still wanted to delve into. I wanted to get more into the sleepwalking, the new business, the new relationship. That's my highest praise, I wasn't ready for the end. I wanted more!

I've fallen in love with that little town and I don't want to leave it! Hopefully, we'll see more of them and their development in the next story. I love that even though it was a stand alone, we get to see and check in with the couples from the previous stories. And I totally can't wait to see Macy's story and now Burns, too! She's really one that I'm interested in.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

I am so delighted that this series is staying fresh, fun, and steamy! I loved how Rylee and Gage meet and the chain of events that follow. Rylee is a free spirit who is living life on her terms. But she seems to be at a cross roads when she moves to the small town of Crescent Cove, to be closer to her sister. What she didn't expect was to see the man who gave her one night of unbelievable passion, only to become her in-law the next day, to be there too. Gage is tired of racing, and he is looking for something meaningful as well. When he sees the Rylee, he is determined to make this spitfire see him as more than a one night stand. He is especially determined to make them a family when they find out she is having his baby! I loved how they both faced this life changing event head on. They didn't let meddling family members bother them, or the shocking descriptions in their baby books! They compliment and support each other, and their chemistry is explosive! I loved visiting with the other couples in this series and seeing where their lives have taken them, but also getting to know new characters as well. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross' narration is so spot on, and their chemistry makes this story even more moving and delightful. This story was so hilarious, quirky and steamy! I just can't get enough of these delightful baby making couples of Crescent Cove!

Pit Stop: Baby is the 4th book of the Crescent Cove series and a little bit different from the previous 3 books.
In this one we have Gage (Dare's brother) and Rylee (Kelsey's sister) and are both known as the family screw-ups.

While Gage has been out making millions in his career as a race car driver, he's also known as the carefree, hook-up, doesn't make attachments guy. His brother (Dare) doesn't take anything Gage says seriously, especially when it comes to settling down.

Rylee is Kelsey's younger sister and can't seem to pave her way in life correctly. Many of her jobs only seem to last for 2 weeks because Rylee has an attitude and has seem have lost the filter from her brain to mouth. She's also not shy about her sexuality and makes this very clear when she engages with Gage for a one-night stand.

Things get a bit awkward for Gage and Rylee when they discovered that their siblings were getting married. Now there's no avoiding each other or that lustful chemistry they seem to share.

My only issue with this book is I really wish we would've gotten an epilogue to know what the sex of their baby is! I've already read the next book (which is the one I started with on this series) so I know it's mentioned in that, I think, but still I wanted to maybe get a scene where they finally get to discover what they were having.
