DNF @ 86.6% I called it quits for the first time in my life! I just couldn't take it any more that last scene was too much for me and so I had to say enough is enough. To begin with I found the leading man; the cyborg Adam to have been horrid. He was terrible to our leading lady Lilly his creator. He supposedly loved her so his idea of love was to kidnap her and keep her captive as a sex slave and force her to bare his kids. He wanted to mould her into the mate that was right for him so if she displeased him in anyway he would spank her, whip her with a belt and force anal play on her! During that particular scene she begged him it hurt and his response was 'Good'! Yeah it was a delight reading how this Ahole treated the love of his life. And if that wasnt bad enough at one point in the story after she had tried to escape him he puts her in a CAGE!!! That's love folks if I ever heard It! He even referred to her as a 'brat' and when ever he heard her crying he would think of her as pathetic and feel no sympathy or compassion towards her. He was brutal in his passion and confesses that what he had learned he had seen on the internet. Well he must have been looking at some hard-core porn sites because even BDSM is supposed to bring some pleasure to your partner not just pain. Although I know there are some who enjoy the pain so he must have been watching those then. His actions reminded me alot of a kidnapper, taking what he wanted from her by force and doling out punishment in order to control her and modify her behaviour it made me sick to my stomach. Lily started out as a very intelligent woman but then turned into one of those amenable women after a couple of dickings. It was very sad to see her accepting her punishment no matter how much she cried and eventually start to enjoy it was just sickening. Then the scene that made me throw in the towel, they are running from their pursuers and Lilly gets shot in the stomach. She apparently dies and Adam miraculously saves her by performing a very complicated surgery in a SEWER! That's right with no surgical tools, hygienic surroundings, defibrillator, nothing. He supposedly kept her brain alive while he was trying to save her by giving it oxygen, how in the world did he achieve that??? It was just to unbelievable and convenient and just down right stupid. She was apparently pregnant too and because of the shooting lost it and would never be able to have kids. What a feel good read this book turned out to be and this is why for the first time ever I was unable to finish a story.

Smut for smut's sake. A cyborg from Ascent seeks revenge against those whom made him, held him, and experimented on him. After his killing frenzy, he seeks and entraps Lilly, one of the scientists that made him. He keeps her as his to do with what he pleases.

The world currently has about 1 billion people and some places are wild and unruly while some places are under control. The authorities are seeking to capture Lilly and Adam but Adam has her in a secure bunk with enough provisions for months. And Adam is more than he seems. whahaha. Love it.

A quick short read. More than one surprise.

The H is cyborg, and h played a part in his creation. Now he's kidnapped her, and although they are on the run, his goals are to be free of the humans who tortured him and he wants her to breed with him. She knows she is guilty, horrified at his treatment, and although she's his captive, she is very attracted to the H, especially his sexual dominance. He has secrets that he won't trust her with until he finds out that perhaps she's the only person he can trust. Really good scifi adventure.

The writing is trite. The stories misogynistic. This is a sociopathic males sadistic wet dream. This is not about love. It's about control and sex. It's about conditioning. If that's what gets you off go for it.

Loki Renard often writes books that cause my jaw to totally drop. This one caused my jaw to drop and then I just said fuuuuuuuuuu.....cccckkkkk.

Lilly is a scientist. She did part of the work on creating a cyborg. And of course, since he was the first of his kind, they named him Adam. When he first opened his eyes, she looked at them and they had some kind of connection. But when she finds out that Adam is being tortured and tries to stop it, she gets fired and has to leave Adam behind.

Three years later, she's hiding in her apartment, and when watching the news, she finds out that the lab where she worked has been destroyed. Then government agents come to her house and tells her that everyone there was killed, and they are there to take her somewhere safe, but she escapes so that they can't take her.

She may be able to hide from the government, but she can't hide from Adam. He wants her. He wants to take her and breed her and fill her with his babies, as many of them as possible.

Really, this was a wow book from me. Adam and Lilly are everything. I love how smart and tricksy that Lilly is and that she was able to do some of the things that she did, without Adam knowing. Of course, they may have been the wrong things to do, but she was about to figure out how to do them. Adam is very stern and strong and sexy. Totally awesome and totally perfect. The book was a roller coaster, and I wasn't always sure what was going to happen with it, and every time I thought I knew, Loki tossed in a corkscrew that turned into an upside-down loop and changed everything around and I had no clue what to expect.

I'm really hoping we get to see more of Adam and Lilly, because I love them so much.

Was He A Mistake? Mans Inhumanity💥🔫🔪 To Man

This is a book about Adam🐺, a one and only, totally unique Cyborg, and Lilly💃, the woman who helped create him.
He wakes up knowing, even though his creators thought he would be a blank slate. He was created by a company called Ascent, by a group. No one person in the group knows the whole process.

Lilly💃, the scientist, knew that Adam🐺, the first Cyborg, is going to be trained and used by the government. Naively, she doesn't want to know what for, but she must accompany him to make sure he isn't overtaxed or damaged. She assumes he will be used in The military or In enforcement.

When Lilly💃 finds out the military is torturing Adam🐺 because he won't obey, she goes to the lab to see for herself. For trying to protect him and reason with his torturers, she is fired and threatened with death.

This is a sad book in many ways, but it's also a book of eventual hope. The 🌎world of Adam and Lilly, is,a dystopian 🌎world in many aspects.
Population is a tenth of what it was, most of the large cities are falling down around the mainly half crazy inhabitants. Many of them are zombie like, preying on every other person they see. The government has abandoned these crumbling areas. The cities are lawless.

For all her education and brilliance, Lilly💃 lacks a lot of common sense. Adam🐺, the created man, the cyborg, he's the one with the street smarts.

Recommend for lovers of Cyborg romance!

The author does warn that the book contains spankings and that is usually where a book and I part ways. My continual quest for good cyborg stories had me taking a chance that part of the story would be very secondary. It was bad, spankings became a form of punishment and other 'too much for me' worse. If this had been only a human story, I would not have continued reading around 50% mark. I hung on waiting for H's remorse and I was surprised with an unpredictable remaining storyline, one well worth reading.
I have perused other books by Ms. Renard and those of interest to me carried the same spanking warning so while I think she is a good writer, she is not one I plan to explore more.

3.75 stars. Sci-fi version of Dr Frankenstein and her monster Adam, a cyborg. I found the storyline really interesting, although the ending was a bit abrupt.

The Asent Laboratories created Adam with help from Lilly. She has become protective of Adam when she finds he is being tortured to try and make him submissive to them. That is not going to happen and although Lilly tries to stop their abuse of Adam, she is forcefully removed from the lab. where he was created and fired. Adam makes his escape finally and destroys the labs and the people involved in making him and some others that are cloned. Finally he finds Lilly, the woman he knew the first time he was conscious and the same one that tried to protect him, but he has plans for Lilly who he considers his. She helped make him, now she will help Adam to make another. Adam plans to breed Lilly! From the start of building Adam in the lab to the captivity, Lilly feels a bond of sorts to her creation, Adam also feels a bond with Lilly but he is a CYBORG and totally a creation of man. They do have some really hot attraction to each other that neither can resist, but Lilly earns herself quite a few
punishment spanks peppered here and there with smoking hot sexual encounters with Adam. Their lives hidden in the bowels of the old buildings in the bad part of the city, isn't free of danger though. Lilly creates her own problems and Adam takes her in hand, but the outsiders that are still searching for them do finally make themselves know with a surprising appearance of another shocking creation. This book kept me on my kindle swiping pages and gasping as each new revelation appears and I was equally shocked as I learned of my previously thought out scenario is totally not what I was expecting. I did expect to enjoy the book, Loki Renard hasn't written anything that disappointed me yet!!!

This is a short but oh so smexy read!

ADAM is the first of his kind - created in Ascent labs by a team of scientists - he was to be the perfect synthetic version of man and machine - an AI so advanced it would change civilization - He was to be programmed as their greatest weapon
Lily -Smart, sensitive determined - and maybe a tad bit of a romantic. She was the first set of eyes he saw upon awakening - the first person to defend him wholeheartedly when he was being tormented - his creator, his savior - and they laid hands upon her
This was too short - I want more!
Adam and Lily are so lively and haunting - This takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and though we only see small scenes and glimpses of the remains - the details are close enough to home to give the reader chills I enjoyed the emotional turmoil that this couple brought to the pages - each feeling their way through a vast landscape of unknowns - wanting only the basics :

Lilly is on the run but he is going to find her. She knew from the beginning he would. He was too perfect. They created him that way and now Adam wants her. Adam has been tortured and treated like nothing more than a cyborg but he is more than that. He saw and heard Lilly, the way they treated her. She was part of the team that created him but always protected him. Now he wants Lilly for his own and he plans to add to their group.

Let me start off by saying, OH MY GOD!!! Loki you have created one heck of a Dom here. Adam my by a cyborg but hell I think we all might want one if he is like this. You have truly out done yourself in this book. My jaw dropped and I was drooling through this. When I first started reading, it gave me the feeling of the “Demon Seed.” Old 70’s movie based off Dean Koontz’s book. It’s the idea of life a new and how it is created. But the story takes a few turns. I love it.

This isn’t your typical cyborg taking charge. Adam is unique and the system that build him is evil. Lilly just happens to be stuck in the middle.

But to her horror, she witnesses shocking testing conditions and gets thrown out for it. For three years she wallows disconnected with life and pining for Adam, wondering if he was still alive. Three years later, a fire at the Ascent facility changes the tides, and now she is being hunted down, both for her knowledge and work on the prototype and by Adam himself.

When he catches up her, what will become of her when he exacts the revenge the authorities just warned her about?

I absolutely loved this story, with its very future-plausible and grounded storyline as well for its emotional components and twists. And of course, all told with Loki-Renard-level of hotness!

I LOVE this book. The two main characters, Lily and Adam, are intriguing. In their initial introduction, we get to know who and what they are. We are skillfully drawn into the fear Lily lives with, the pain each one endures, and the retribution Adam devises. I was drawn into the tension and the interplay when they meet again, after his escape. And, look out, when Adam decides to breed Lily, WOW!

Loki Renard, I am in awe of your thought process and your logic and the way your words take me through a tangled web in a way that makes me see, feel and understand ideas and concepts I never even contemplated.

This book is evil, dark, intricate, and intense. It is also an engaging, propelling, entertaining, elucidating, compelling, thought-provoking story filled with extremely hot, steamy, exciting sex.

A sexy, intelligent and irresistible story! You should read this book! Loki Renard has written this intelligent and compelling story that will have you staying up too late to read it all in one sitting. Adam and Lilly are both characters that you can empathize with and their chemistry together is completely off the charts. Their love scenes are hot and fierce and so well written that you can see the details in your head. I loved the intrigue of the plot, with the evil agency at the crux of all the drama. The story unfolds naturally and is very easy to read, compelling in its flow of scenes from one to the next, you will have read the whole book before you realize that it is finished so easily, before you are ready to let them go.

Another fantastic book

I have read all of Lokis books and have never been disappointed, cyborg captive is another hit.
Adam is a cyborg created by scientists with the help of Lily. When she discovers him being tortured and tries to help him she is kicked out of the facility. Lily then goes into hiding when Adam escapes, thinking that he blames her for helping create him. Adam is determined to track down to Lily but not to hurt her for creating him but to punish her for leaving him!!
Loki can't write quick enough for me, I need another book immediately - thankfully her next book Scar will be out soon 💟

This had me on the edge of my seat Lilly is fierce and has such a big heart when it comes to her work and she will sacrifice anything to protect her Cyborg. Adam is unpredictable and I didn't know what to expect when he finds her he was a little scary but when his plan was laid out just WHOA he is one sexy hot Cyborg with the feelings so intense and lets not forget bossy, he rules every single inch of Lilly. I loved the writing and the plot and description is fantastic loads of action and scary moments with intense situations that will have you biting your nails off.

A new book from Loki Renard. It is labeled as dark, but i didn’t find it very dark myself. It could have been the setting of the book which made me feel like this. There is definitely some dub-com going on.

I enjoyed the book and especially the struggles Adam had with his creation. That was well done and I loved how protective Lily was of Adam. And her desire to do what is right. There is a wonderful connection between the characters and some of the things Adam did and say made me laugh.

I wouldn’t have minded a bit more worldbuilding and maybe a bit more about what happened after.

4.25 ⭐ I am so compatible with this writer's psyche, it's embarrassing. The first 50% is rather predictable & serviceable but a shift happens & then the 3rd act brings an epiphany coupled to some dark psychological material. At the end (HFN with a satisfying open ending) I'm left reeling with questions and all kind of emotions. This book deserves a sequel. It was written a few years ago but would fit perfectly in the "cyborg or robot or other AI lover" wave about to hit us because there is so much depth to be found & like the best stories out there it's mostly about humanity.

Lilly and her team created Adam, however while she thought it was for good, the lab had other plans. When she discovers their plans she is thrown out, but Adam never forgets.
A few years later Adam comes for her and the only thing this cyborg needs is the woman he deems his and offspring. Because he is hiding a big secret, and the government is after them after his escape.
Short, exciting and to the point, this cyborg captive novel is sooo good.

Great read as usual

This book should come with a warning the pages weren't just hot they were on fire. The love scenes were hot actually the whole book was from beginning to end.
Loki Renard is an amazing writer and this one is exceptional. I would have liked a little bit more at the end tho another chapter or epilogue just to see the baby. Or maybe we get to see that grown up in another with his own love.....

Who knew cyborgs could be so damn sexy???
I was enthralled from the first sentence.
Lilly is a scientist...she's part of a team that's creating a cyborg; Adam is a cyborg but he's also human
They don't see one another for three years and their connection, their chemistry is explosive
Can they survive being hunted?
Can Adam keep her safe? How often will he need to punish her, discipline her?

Cyborg or Human

Lily helped to make Adam, a cyborg. But there was a part of him that she knew not of. The army was experimenting on him, hurting him. When she objected, they fired her and carried her out. Three years later, Adam destroyed the lab he was at. Adam found her and carried her off. Now, the story starts getting really interesting in a beautiful enduring way. This is definitely an adult only book with a happily ever after.

A page turner for sure

You do know how to write a book no matter the era I enjoy all I read and now for the dragon series I can’t stop reading your books and I have other Authors I love and their books await my attention but if you find a good author well why not read all one has to give each book as good as the last. She help create this cyborg to be human like with feelings and feelings of pain when they abuse him (beat him) she trys to intervene and save him only to be fired...years later he escapes to find her..he's loved her since he first saw her..she was the first thing he seen when he opened his eye's..when he finds her they go into hiding from the government and the ending is beautiful and full twist and turns you have to read it
