Her innocence awakens something in him he’s left buried for so long. Can he resist?
Charlotte I’ve dreamt of opening my own bakery since I was a little girl helping my mom bake pies back home in Iowa. Sure, running my own pasty cart in the lobby of Pierce Industries isn’t exactly living the dream but hey, it’s a start. Plus, it gives me the chance to ogle the sexy and elusive stranger that frequents my cart a few times a week. I can’t help but be captivated by his commanding presence. His deep, blue eyes fixating on me as we exchange pleasantries leave me wanting more. I may be a 23-year-old virgin but my bodily reaction to him is anything but innocent.
Preston I don’t do pure. I don’t do naïve. And I certainly don’t do forever. I know better than to look twice at the beautiful woman in my lobby. Her milky skin and long, slender neck beg me to taste her. She’s young, naïve and practically dripping with purity. She’s too innocent for someone like me. I know I should walk away from her. But I can’t stop thinking about having her on her knees...
Alexis Winter is a contemporary romance author who loves to share her steamy stories with the world. She specializes in sexy billionaires, cocky alphas, brooding bad boys and the women they love.
If you love to curl up with a good romance book you will certainly enjoy her work. Whether it's a story about an innocent young woman learning about the world or a sassy and fierce heroine who knows what she wants you're sure to enjoy the happily ever afters she provides.
When Alexis isn't writing away furiously, you can find her exploring the Rocky Mountains, traveling, enjoying a glass of wine or petting a cat.
An indeed sweet and quick romance read with Preston and Charlotte - where there is a big age difference between them - trying to find out how a relationship works.
A sweet book. H and h were good too, but reading the book in third person always ruined my mood. I feel like I don't connect to the characters if I'm not able to understand what their thoughts are. Anyway, the book was boring in the start, then again it was boring at the end, the only interesting thing in the book was when there was any dialogue.
There are like countable dialogues in each chapter, 4 dialogues of H and 5 or 6 dialogues from h, then the rest of the chapter is filled with crap about very much unnecessary things I don't even want to know.
There was no attachment to the characters, I don't even know if the h is annoying or not, that much crap the chapter is filled with instead of actual story.
The whole book they are behind the bakery h wants to open and she starts telling him her whole life history from the moment she was born, in exactly 3 or 4 lines and that's that. Really slow book indeed.
And H whenever he comes in the book he is either sitting in his office drinking scotch or sitting at his home drinking scotch. He even gives h scotch, and she accepts it, for someone who NEVER drank, she sure did starts drinking at the first chance she got.
Charlotte Fairweather's Uncle was a silent partner in Pierce Industries, since he was her mother's brother, no one would need to know they were related. When he told her a food cart on the first floor of the Pierce Building opened up, Charlotte, at 23, jumped at the chance. It wasn't the big goal of course, that being to have her own bakery, but it was turning a profit. As she was trying to build her brand and save money to buy her own bakery, each afternoon Charlotte would take a basket of mini muffins to each business on each of the 40 floors in the building. Preston Pierce had started his original business 18yrs ago with the help of his partner Howard Specter. Now at almost 40, it had grown into Pierce Industries and was a major stockholder in several businesses including pharmaceutical manufacturers, restaurants, hotel chains, research and development companies and IT consultancies. He was a workaholic and most nights slept in his office on the top floor of his building. Alexis Winter has taken two very unlikely characters and with a little help from fate, had them cross paths. This is an easy read with just enough angst to give a plot twist. The ending was something a little different than I expected and was quite pleased the way it turned out. You'll enjoy this one for sure!
Well I really like this book ....it's a short novella and I loved it....it was a sweet romance. I liked both Preston and Charlotte's characters. They are lovely and amazing. No age or status could be barrier when the love prevails.

Charlotte is a young woman that moves to the big city in order to make her dream come true. She starts with a food cart at a big building, securing a spot there with the help of her uncle. Her dream is to have her own bakery someday however, the only part missing for that is the business part, as she never really thought of that part. Here enter Preston.
Preston is an older man, in his forties, that build his own famous and expertise within the market since he was young. He has a strictly professional life. He even sleeps at the office most of the time and that's good for him. But, it all changes when he meets the new girl from the new food cart at his own building.
After a few weeks of experimenting with the good from the food cart like clock, Preston is surprised when he finds Charlotte at the top floor - his floor - at night, looking for his assistance, Sophie. He is surprised by her there at night at all and, also is Charlotte, because she did not expect to find someone working at night on a holiday. As the two of them start talking, Charlotte shares her dream with Preston and, aside from the attraction, he believes in her and decides to invest in her business.
Everything runs smoothly until Preston can't fight his feelings anymore and acts on his urges. That scares Charlotte away, but later, she regrets her decision and things become a lot more than professional between them. And, again, it all comes crashing when her uncle discovers who is investing in his niece's bakery and buys him off. Charlotte accepts the deal out of fear and disappears on Preston. But, after a lot of insisting from Sophie, he goes after her and even with the fear of a new business and new relationship, they decided is worth it.
This book was lovely. An older man - younger woman relationship is never easy but, I think Charlotte should have more confidence in herself and she should've stood up to her uncle and his ultimatum. But the rest was lovely. Also, Sophie was so sweet and cute, wish it was a lot more about her. Nice, quick read.
Sweet Temptation by Alexis Winter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charlotte Fairweather doesn't know who Preston Pierce is. Preston doesn't know who Charlotte is. But, the two interact 2-3 times each week at Charlotte's food cart in the building where her uncle Howard works. She doesn't want to rely on her uncle's reputation, she wants to make it on her own. When Preston comes to her cart in the mornings, she always tries to engage him in conversation, like she does with her other regular customers, but he's not interested. On her rounds to the various offices in the building to increase her business, Charlotte, after business hours, happens upon Preston Pierce and they finally, strike up a conversation. They talk about her business and her aspirations, to the point of Preston offering to be Charlotte's mentor/advisor. What seems innocent enough turns into more than either one anticipated professionally or personally. Will either one act on their obvious attraction? Will Sophie, Preston's PA, clue him in about who Charlotte is? Can this all really have a happy ending? I love the characters of Preston and Charlotte, they are both extremely engaging even with their obvious age difference. What will happen if and when Howard realizes who Charlotte's business partner is? It was all very uplifting regarding Charlotte's aspirations. She's a strong, albeit young, women. And Preston is more than just a closed off business tycoon. I love the elements of attraction and camaraderie between Charlotte and Preston, it's almost fairytale like, but realistic as well. This was a well thought out, smart, romance. But could it possibly end well? Or is it all too far fetched? As usual, I'm very satisfied with Ms. Winter's writing!

A very Sweet Temptation between an older man and a younger woman. This is a quick and light read. It was fun to read about Charlotte who has dreams of opening her own bakery. Preston is a billionaire who finds Charlotte's pastries delicious. His secretary Sophie has befriended Charlotte as she was networking floor to floor in the Pierce Building. Sophie was the one to tell Preston that Charlotte wanted her own bakery. Sophie already knew she could deliciously bake and had no question that Charlotte would succeed one day. Preston took it upon himself to encourage Charlotte. As he helped her fine tune her business plan they started to get to know each other. Charlotte had always been intrigued by him when he would stop and buy a pastry from her food cart on the first floor of his building. She had no clue who he was. It was not until she was making her bakery rounds in the building that she found out who he was. Preston was fighting his feeling for Charlotte. It was hard for him. He had never felt this way about anyone in his life. Will Charlotte's dream come true? Will Preston ever make a move on Charlotte? Does Charlotte feel the same way as he does? Will Preston get turned off because Charlotte has zero experience with men? This is such a delightful read. When the last page came, I said to myself "is that all there is?" It would have been nice to have had an epilogue. At least to find out how Uncle Howard ending up dealing with her new situation. I am a fairly new reader to Ms. Alexis Winter and I am completely enthralled with her work. If Sweet Temptation is an indication of her talent, then I sure hope to be reading her work for years to come.
Within these unique pages of Sweet Temptation, you meet two vastly different main characters, Preston and Charlotte, they meet by chance, however, they just 'work'. Being older, Preston Pierce, is experienced and decisive. Charlotte Fairweather is young and just starting out with her cart business in the Pierce building but she has dreams of her own to one day own her own Bakery. However, everyone has to start somewhere and when her Uncle informed her of an open food cart in the Pierce building, she took the chance towards her goal. When these meet, this wonderful storyline just takes off and you'll be as enraptured as myself with this impressive romance. Sweet Temptation is a quick and sexy read that I am positive you are going to love as much as I have. Congratulations to Ms. Winter, I can not wait to see what will be next.
I was incredibly fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Sweet Temptation in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Ms. Winter. This really was a beautifully designed romance.
A ROMANCE that is all about connecting, sharing, trusting, and caring! “SWEET TEMPTATION” was an amazing romance that screamed at my heart. What I clearly heard was that love is based on TRUST. In “SWEET TEMPTATION” author Alexis Winter has a moving and enticing May/December romance which portrayed the most well-developed and lovably realistic characters. I fell in love with Charlotte and found myself identifying with the struggles she faced in trying to build her success in a city far away from her parents. I also loved her strength, but since I don’t want to spoil a second of your reading pleasure, this is all I can say about that! Read the blurb, and then decide if “SWEET TEMPTATION” with its exceptionally well-written prose, realistic characters, and compelling plot is the book to take you into a new experience. If you like to read about amazing people whose ability to face the fear of trusting another to find healing and happiness, then “SWEET TEMPTATION” is truly the book for you! I was given an ARC copy of “SWEET TEMPTATION” to prepare this honest, voluntary review of a wonderful 5-STAR recommendation. I suggest you grab your copy of “SWEET TEMPTATION” today! Happy pages! 😉
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Charlotte and Preston. Charlotte has moved to Denver and is now working at a food cart in the lobby of an office building, but her dreams are to have her own bakery. When Charlotte decides to take baked goods around to all of the offices in order to advertise and build up business, she leaves muffins at Preston's office. Preston is a very successful businessman who owns the office building and invests in a number of different businesses. When Preston is alone in his office after hours and Charlotte comes to collect her basket, he invites her into his office for a drink. They begin talking and Preston learns of Charlotte's dream of owning a bakery. When they talk about it, Preston offers to be an investor and help her succeed. Over the next few weeks, they get to be friends, but Preston wants more. Charlotte is a virgin and is scared of Preston's real intentions of helping her. I liked this story. I really liked Preston and thought he was a workaholic until Charlotte showed him what was missing in his life. Charlotte was mature in wanting her business, but she was still scared to be an adult with her family. Good one.

This is a short good read with lots of lust, passion, fascinating, sweet, funny, and engaging. This is the first time I read a book by Alexis Winter, but I assure you, it will not be the last. An engaging story that will keep you captivated and glued to the pages, and I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters. This is the first time I read a book by Alexis Winter, but I assure you, it will not be the last. Preston Pierce is handsome, successful, billionaire, sexy as hell, confident, charismatic, and he normally gets what he wants. Charlotte Fairweather sold bake goods from a cart in the high rise building that Preston owned, and he stops by her cart two days a week. Preston finds out that Charlotte has desires and the acumen to opening and operating her own bakery business. While trying to help her with her dream, Preston finds that he is drawn to her like the proverbial moth to the flame and their chemistry is palpable. Will Charlotte allow Preston to help her once she finds out who he really is? Will Preston find out about Charlotte’s secret? The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end. A very enjoyable read!
Charlotte moves to Denver after finishing culinary school back home in hopes to open her own bakery one day but for now she starts off small with a bakery cart in a very busy building. After the first few weeks she is becoming friendlier with most of her regulars selling out her delicious goodies daily but there is one regular customer that just doesn’t say a whole lot.
Preston is a successful, handsome billionaire. A man took a risk on him when he was younger and since then he has skyrocketed. Most nights he would work so late he slept in his office apartment. One day after walking into his building he noticed a new food cart by the elevator, he knew from the smell alone that the pastries were going to be delicious. What he was expecting is the young, smart, beautiful woman running the cart. When she stumbles into his office one night he begins to finally talk to her realizing there was so much more about her then just her delicious goodies.
As Charlotte and Preston get to know each other and become friends they both try to fight the feelings each has for the other but for how long can they fight themselves before one caves to the urges and feelings they have for the other?? Hmm... guess you’ll have to read to find out!!
Alexis Winter was a new author to me not long ago. After reading Always You: A Friends to Lovers Romance (book 1) I became a fan. Now I’m a lifer lol I love her writing style, the comedy she brings to her story’s and how she has a way of making you fall in-love with the characters in her stories.
Young baker Charlotte runs a cart selling her delicious goods every morning in a huge office building, but she dreams of opening her own bakery called "Sweet "Temptations." Preston is the man in the top-floor office, an aloof and quiet man who occasionally stops by for a cinnamon roll. Though he's 15 years older, he finds Charlotte to be a "sweet temptation" herself. This gentle romance answers the question: does love care if there are differences in age, financial status from one end of the spectrum to the other, a open bubbly personality relating to a reserved mien, or someone with dreams to bring to life versus a strong corporate leader that's a true "closer." I loved the book, and loved the way the two personalities interact. Most books with lovers like these two would include some domination and scorching scenes. This book always demonstrates respect and gentle affection between the two. I recommend it to any dreamer out there!

Loved the characters Preston and Charlotte. Charlotte's a young woman who has a baked goods cart on the first floor of Preston's building. Two days a week he stops by Charlotte's cart to buy a cinnamon roll. They don't really come together until Charlotte takes a basket of mini muffins to the top floor and realizes that the man who buys the cinnamon rolls from her is actually the owner of the building where she works. Preston comes to like Charlotte and learn more about her. Charlotte sees Preston as a handsome and rich older man who is just trying to be nice. When Preston learns that she actually wants to open her own bakery he offers to help her and begins to realize that he is starting to get feelings for Charlotte. The story continues and you see them getting closer. Does Preston really have a chance with the young and innocent Charlotte? Can they make a go out of this new relationship? Read the story. You will love it as much as I did. Thank you Alexis Winter for such a great story. Ready for book 2.
A sweet story of a jaded billionaire who was 15 years older than a sunny and innocent heroine. The baked goods sounded so delicious!
15 years was not that big a gap, why did the author keep harping on him being old enough to be her father?!
When it came to men, Charlotte was inexperienced and immature.
The way she let her uncle's words get to her, took his money, and cut Preston out of her business and life... all without the courtesy of telling Preston to his face. That was pretty brutal and unfair. She seemed to forget SHE initiated their intimacy!
And I thought her Uncle Howard was his biz partner, but the antipathy towards Preston was out of proportion?! Maybe Preston's reputation was really so bad?! That felt awkward.
A HFN ending, part two coming out in Aug 2018. Argh!
Lots of typos and grammatical errors, using apostrophes to make plurals, "new" instead of "knew", "protecting" instead of "protection " such typos.

Charlotte has a dream of opening a bakery. Her uncle is a silent partner in Pierce Industries and tells her that a food cart is opening in the lobby. She goes and works at her business and takes a basket of baked muffins to each business in the building to have them sample her baked goods. She has meet the owner Preston a couple times but never talked until she was collecting her baskets one night and was talking to him. Preston has built his business up for years and has stock in lots of businesses and even sleeps at his office at times. As he talks to Charlotte he hears about her bakery dream and offers to advise and be a partner. As time goes on he is physically attracted to her but she’s afraid of her feelings. Plus her uncle finds that Preston wants to be a partner in the bakery and has reservations about it. How will it all turn out?

Charlotte (23) and Preston (48) meet while Charlotte is working at her bakery cart on the main floor of Pierce Enterprises. She is a determined to make enough money to open her own bakery. Preston starts by getting cinnamon buns twice a week. The story progresses to Charlotte giving samples to the various offices until she meets Preston. He offers to help her get started once she develops a plan. Then they start to get to know each other. They develop a business friendship that each wants to go deeper but are hesitant to change the perimeters. Once they have a toe curling kiss things change and much needed conversations are avoided. They are both scared; loneliness and some soul searching bring on the Happily Ever After. There is more to the specifics but I refuse to include any spoilers!!! Read to find out how they got here!! Sweet and very sexy Older man and Younger woman story…LOVED it. Ms. Winter just gets better and better. My favorite romantic genre is the older man and younger woman plot. This story had me from the beginning when Charlotte Fairweather (don’t you love that name?) notices Preston at her food cart. Preston had noticed the happy and sweet young woman/baker in the lobby of his building but for different reasons. Hmm. She doesn’t know he is the THE Preston Pierce of the Pierce Building but she finds him attractive albeit sad or lonely. One evening they have an opportunity to talk and he finds out her aspirations to own a bakery. Thus, begins this wonderfully sexy and sweet story of these two finding love and more. They must surmount obstacles that neither expected, which I think will follow them into the next book. This was not an insta-love, “slam-bam-thank you ma’m” story. Be ready for a slow brew to their HFN ending. I can’t wait for the next installment!
SWEET TEMPTATION is a delightful little treat to read. Preston and Charlotte are an unlikely couple. He is a billionaire workaholic who has few contacts outside the business world. She is a young and ambitious baker who dreams of owning her own bakery some day. Her tempting baked treats are the reason they connect at all. Preston thinks he can help Charlotte to fulfill her dream of opening her own bakery. He guides Charlotte through her business plan and the steps to owning her own business. Along the way, her sweet treats and close proximity have Preston seeing Charlotte as his Sweet Temptation. Is their connection real and lasting? Or is it just a passing fancy for something sweet? Read this fast-paced, delightful book and find out!

This was great read by Alexis Winter! Charlotte owns a pastry cart in the Pierce Building so she can one day open her own bakery. She has no idea one of her customers is billionaire Preston Pierce, billionaire owner of the building . Her uncle Howard is a business partner with Preston and would gladly invest in her bakery but she is determined to make it on her own. But after a few awkward meetings with Preston, he offers to invest in her bakery and become her partner. Pierce is attracted to the much younger woman and is determined to resist the temptation. How many Fridays night meetings will they have before they give in to the attraction? Charlotte may be young and inexperienced but she is very mature in other ways. This was a delightful young woman, older man story that you will absolutely love!
Though, in my opinion, it took a long while, over half the book, to see anything romantic go on. It was kind of disappointing that for a romance it took so long for even a kiss to happen. Then, everything went at pretty much super speed. It seemed like they just got together and in a few pages they were apart, then together again.
It also ended a little abruptly for me. What happened with her uncle once he found out they were back together? Did he pull his money out for her being “foolish” and “naive”? Not that it would’ve mattered considering Preston is crazy rich and would reinvest if her uncle pulled out of the bakery.
Overall, a little cliche about the timid virgin meeting the big bad billionaire, but if you can get past it, it’s a cute read.

A well written quick, engaging slow burning older man younger women romance with enough angst that gave you a good plot twist. Charlotte sells baked goods from a cart in Preston's building, but has dreams of owning her own bakery one day. Preston is attracted to this young baker and enjoys her pasteries. She tries to talk with him when he purchases 2-3 times a week but he seems closed off. They thoughly engage when she goes to the confernce room to retrieve her basket after a meeting. Their conversation leads them to talks about her business and her dreams and he encourages her to let him mentor her. I really enjoyed this HFN journey of slow burning passion that takes them to finally act on their underlying passion and chemistry with one another.

LIGHTENING STRUCK!!! Talk about grabbing a hold and running with it. Wow! Alexis spins and weaves her world so skillfully it's like watching a surgeon wield his scalpel. Awesome and captivating. You're just about guaranteed to always come away from her tales with a smile on your face and a lighter heart with a pep in your step. The characters are well developed and believable with just enough spice to add flavor to the mix. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are vividly detailed and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. She throws a few curve balls in unexpected places just to catch you off guard. This is just one more masterpiece that she makes seem effortless. Alexis brought this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Alexis, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
Charlotte Fairweather loves to bake and hopes to one day open her own bakery. She has no money or idea how to even try to achieve her real dream. She decides to bake at home and sell her goodies in the office building near where she lives. Every morning she takes her delicious pastries and sells them out of a cart. Preston Pierce owns the building Charlotte sells out of. He buys from her a couple of times a week. She has no idea who he is until she decides to take samples to offices. She meets Sophie. When Sophie tastes her muffins she knows her boss needs to try them. He loves them and Sophie talks to Charlotte about baking goodies every week for meetings. This starts a sweet story of Charlotte and Preston.
4 1/2 stars In SWEET TEMPTATION, Alexis Winter gives you a story with a strong plot and great characters. Generally, I am not a big fan of older men and young virgins because in my mind the first thought that pops into my mind is "lecher". But this story is so well written that you realize very quickly that a deep friendship develops in spite of the age difference. The plot is very well developed and spans a period of several months. The romance heats up but the sexual encounter is tastefully handled. Although this is not a cliffhanger, it does end with a HFN. I hope this author continues this storyline in another book.

Here’s the thing I really liked this book. It’s a quick read and The characters are well written but their is little to no interaction with other people. Charlotte is a small town girl who moved to Denver to start her bakery business. She has a food truck in the Pierce building. Preston Pierce catches her eye as she does his. After he finds out her future plans he makes a business proposal. They spend lots of time working on her business plans . Nothing personal do they share and that’s what bothers me about the book. Plus the ending was lacking.

This is a sweet story of two people that find each other. Charlotte is a country girl that has come to Denver to try and open her very own bakery one day. She opens up a shop in the Pierce Building to make money for her bakery. Preston had spotted Charlotte the first time she opened up her shop and gets a cinnamon roll every Monday and Thursday, then he started getting different things on other days. He asked her to put a business plan together and he would have a look at it. Preston was always going to invest in her business. I recommend this shirt read.i received a arc of this book through booksprout for a review.
