Rev My Engine is a playfully fun and sexy read.
As an emerging author, I enjoyed Kristin Kent's writing, character and world development, as well as the book plot.

Morgan is a small town girl making a place for herself in the big world, and has just landed her dream job after graduation. Little does she know just how much her world will be turned on its head after meeting a handsome stranger in a hotel bar. Blair is sexy, commanding, and guarded. To his greatest shame he holds a secret, and knows he'll never deserve happiness - but there's something about the girl from bar. The girl who makes the walls he's carefully built shake and crumble. Morgan has Blair questioning everything but still in hiding. Will their love survive his secrets? Read Rev My Engine and find out!
I really enjoyed Morgan's character. She knows who she is, what she wants, and she's out to get it. She's hardworking and kind, and thrives on her achieved independence. I so wanted to love Blair's alpha male demeanor and domineering tendencies, but I just didn't love him the way I wanted to. I've tried to pinpoint just what is was about him that wasn't for me but can't put my finger on it. I'm positive this is a classic case of, "it's not you, it's me" scenarios, and nothing to do with the writing.

"How about let's play follow the leader. I lead. You follow. Trust me."

The character chemistry was undeniable and the sexy scenes extra steamy. While tastefully done, this book does contain elements of BDSM and kink. Author Kristin Kent also does an exceptional job of infusing both humor and a level of suspense to keep you both guessing and laughing throughout the book.

Rev My Engine was a great debut novel for Kristin Kent and I look forward to what comes next from her! If you enjoy hot and heavy romances with comedy and suspense sprinkled in then this is the book for you! Enjoy friends.

5 stars for this debut novel by author Kristin Kent. Kent sets her story in Michigan, a breath of fresh air, for readers imagining a wealthy bachelor meeting his true love, compared to those novels set in the large coastal cities of the U.S.
Blair Markham is a 20-something heir to an automotive empire, he never intended to run - at least not as his age. Morgan Regis is a new graduate with an MBA, searching to find her place in the world. Morgan interviews in her college roommate's hometown and encounters Blair in a chance meeting. Sparks fly.
But, Blair is sure he'll never find love. You see, he's harboring a secret wound, making him convinced he cannot be happy, because who would want "damaged goods"? He's sure he's ruined his chances.
Morgan is at a crossroads in life-new city, new career...She wasn't looking for love either.
Yet, serendipity has a habit of putting star-crossed lovers on the same path. Blair falls hard, despite his misgivings. Morgan is intrigued, but struggles with this man's need for control in all areas of life.
Kent puts a fresh spin on some kink in the bedroom, while creating likable characters whom readers can't help but root for to be together. Will an admission from Blair's past cause more damage or bring them closer? What will it take to tip Morgan over the edge toward a happily ever after?
*This book can be read as a stand-alone with an HEA, but the author does plan a sequel to the series.
