I learned a long time ago that people can’t be trusted.
I have my brothers.
I don’t need anyone else.
Argenta was an anomaly.
A moment of weakness.
In the space of one night, she slipped past every one of my defenses. For one brief, terrifying moment, she had me believing she was different.
That we could be different.
But in the cold light of day, I saw the truth. She was just like the rest.
Cold.
Calculating.
I sent her away and tried to move on.
But five years later, here she is.
Only her name’s not Argenta, it’s Silver.
Her father is my newest business partner and she is not the person I thought she was.
She pretends not to know me, but I can see it her eyes.
She knows exactly who I am.
And she hates my guts.
That’s too bad because I’ve decided to keep her.
She’s mine.
This time, she’s not going anywhere.

***Tobias is a full-length stand-alone contemporary romance (and a low-key secret-baby romance. shhh...) with plenty of heat, no cliffhanger and a heart-melting HEA***

Tobias is the first book by Megyn Ward that I've read. It's a quick and easy afternoon read. The storyline is not original but the author puts her own spin on it and makes it enjoyable. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future.

This is a branch off series from the Gilroy Clan series which I enjoyed and finished. BUT I actually liked Tobias better than the Gilroy men so I’m looking forward to finishing this series.

These two can fill the spaces in each other's hearts.

Silver & Tobias are both broken. He more than her because she at least had one loving parent. Little did she expect their sizzling one night stand would leave her a with an unexpected surprise that changed the trajectory of her future. And neither she nor Tobias expected to be brought back together five years later. Tobias has to break his own patterns of distrust to accept the love she can give him. And he has to earn her trust. Silver has to open up herself and take a risk. Their path isn't smooth, but it is certainly lively. Love seeing the Gilroys!! Megyn is always a completely absorbing read.

It was great up until the last few chapters.
It had suspense, anticipation, bated breath moments, but as soon as the heroine inclined that she would give the hero or main guy a chance, the book cut out any further story and wrote them together immediately.. only providing a brief explanation as to how they got together... it's over all worth reading but could have been better.

Heartbreak and second chances
This is my first time reading anything by this author, and I was not disappointed, this was a great intro to someone new, and I look forward to reading more, by this author in the future. This is the first book in The Kings of Brighton, and the story of Tobias, and Silver. After spending one amazing night together 5 years ago, Tobias rejected Silver, and shuts her out. That night changed Silvers life forever, and she never planned to see Tobias again, but as fate would have it, their path cross once again. When Tobias, and her father become business partners, Tobias realizes the mistake he made letting Silver get away, and he plans to get her back. Can these 2 damaged souls find their way to trust, and happiness? This was a great read, the characters are well written, and have hot chemistry. I recommend this book, it's entertaining, dramatic, passionate, steamy, and romantic.

I love Silver!

Honestly my heart was breaking for Tobias, Jase, Gray and Logan. Thinking of them as children with no one to protect them was so heartbreaking. Im a sucker for these kinds of characters in books because I know their stories are going to be so epic, especially when they get their HEA. I love how Tobias, Noah and Silver got to be a family and when they had their daughter, Beth and named him after his mother I was bawling. I can’t wait to read Logan’s book!

An intense emotional storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and turning page after page throughout the whole book.

It caused me to lose quite a bit of sleep while I was reading it because it was so hard to put down at night.

Megyn Ward has written a book about buried emotions that need to be worked out for the main characters to have a HEA.
Silver met Tobias at a night club when her 2 sisters made her go with them. There was an instant attraction. They leave and go to his apartment and he tells her that she can find something to wear and she goes and looks thur his drawers to find something. She comes across a few pictures and she looks at them. They spend the night together and the next morning Tobias finds out that she looked at the pictures and he gets mad and he leaves after putting money on the bedside table. This makes Silver so mad and she leaves hoping never to see him again. Now it is 5 years later and Silver and her father are looking for an investor for a new business deal. A friend brings Tobias in but he doesn't know that Silver will be there. After a few minutes, Silver tells him that they do not need him or his money and leaves the meeting and goes to her office to call her sister to tell her not to come. Silver has a secret that she does not want him to know about. Tobias comes back to her office and asks her out to dinner and before she can tell him no he is gone. He flys her to New York and takes her to his apartment and they have dinner, he ask her to stay with him and she tells him no. He takes her to his penthouse suite at a hotel he uses that is across the street from his office. The next morning Silver finds out that this is where he brings all his hook-ups, so she goes home without telling him. He is waiting for her at his office and she doesn't show up so he goes to the penthouse to find her gone. He follows her back to Boston, and this is where he finds out the secret she has kept from him and he turns around and walks away, she goes after him to try to explain. He ask her whats she wants from him and she tells him that she doesn't need him or his money.
After thinking for a while can Tobias understand why Silver did what she did and will he be able to forgive her.
Can Silver forgive Tobias for the way he has treated her and give him a second chance, or will she walk away from him?
This book has a few emotions that the main characters must work out in order for them to have a HEA. It is a wonderful written book and it will keep you reading from page one to the last page. I would recommend it to anyone.

Another great story from Megyn. I started reading my intentions was to read a couple chapters and then next thing I know I can't put it down til the end. Tobias and Silver are two broken characters who meet one night at Tobias's club and there is this connection between them. Tobias finds himself doing something he never does he takes Silver home with him and they have a night of passion and they also share personal information about each other. The next morning Tobias starts to have doubts and questions Silvers intentions. Silver wakes up after a night with Tobias to an empty bed, a note and a stack of cash pissed she storms out. Years later they run into each other and the connection is still there but now Silver has a secret and she's not sure how Tobias will react once he finds out, but she also wants answers to why he changed the next morning after their night together. Great start to the series. Can't wait to dive into Logan's story. You get a tiny glimpse of him in here and I was a little curious when he was introduced in The Gilroy Clan Series.

Miscommunications, assumptions and stubbornness abound..........can they ever have a second chance?

Well Tobias is finally a book that I have liked by Megyn Ward!!! I was about to give up on this author and then Tobias and Silver's story hit me. I may have wanted to beat Tobias up one side and down the other but eventually I came around to him.
Tobias and Silver celebrate their shared birthday by sharing their bodies for one night of incredible passion. But he is gone the next morning and Silver instead finds cash and a not really nice letter. It is now five years later and their paths cross again. Only this time Silver has a little secret that she is not willing to share. Will Tobias and Silver be able to be truthful with each other or will their heels be dug in so far that they can't see what is really in front of them?

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

angsty and sexy .. I enjoyed it

CW - death of a parent, foster care

Tropes - billionaire, secret baby, second chance

I read this one because I enjoyed a previous series by the author - and then it was a secret baby, billionaire romance and I’ve never been so happy 😂

You’ll notice I haven’t put fun down in the tag line for this book - that was purposeful as Tobias is a bit grim TBH

The premise is clear - it’s a one night stand that ends badly (who doesn’t want to wake up to a pile of money on the dresser???) but, when they reconnect, Silver has a decision to make about if she tells him about his son.

He has baggage, she has baggage … I’m going to read the rest of the series and I’m pretty sure they all have baggage.

It’s really gritty, it’s ridiculously sexy and I’ve downloaded book two. This author is one I’m enjoying

I just discovered Megyn Ward’s books and I really like her writing style and the way she writes her characters.

Her heroes seem kind of awful at first but are always redeemed in a very satisfying manner. Tobia’s was just enough of an arrogant jerk, but still so freaking sexy and magnetic. He wasn’t “really” a manwhore which I loved. I loved Silver. She was very likable and absolutely did not put up with Tobia’s cr@p. Anyway— they had intense chemistry. I loved the way this whole story played out. It was fast paced with no unnecessary filler or slow parts. (It actually could have been longer) but I was sucked in right away and couldn’t put it down. I loved the epilogue and I can’t wait to read the next one. (These books aren’t really that “deep” or a grand novel, but they are definitely entertaining and satisfying with awesome characters)

Tobias and Silver meet on their shared birthday and have a night of passion and revelations, but when Tobias thinks he has been played he is determined to put Silver in her place. When Silver wakes alone to cash on the dresser and a dear john letter she leaves heart in tatters. Unfortunately for Tobias he couldn't have been more wrong about his notions of Silver. They meet again 5 years later and boy do things get intense. Between hidden truths and stubbornness both Tobias and Silver have their work cut out for them in order to get any sort of relationship to work. This was a good book and had great characters.

Silver meets Tobias in a club on her birthday. They leave and have a great passionate night in his penthouse. He thinks she discovered his secret, and ghosts her. Fast forward five years to Noah, Silver's 4-year-old. So precocious and smart, he'll probably be the death of her. She and her father are meeting with an investor, and it turns out to be Tobias. She's in a panic to keep Noah hidden safely away - easier said than done. I love this book. It checks all the boxes - billionaire, second chance, surprise child, strong woman. The story line moves, and I read it in one sitting. First read from this author - looking forward to the rest of the series.

This was my first time reading a book by Megyn Ward and I have to say WOW it was amazing!!! It grabbed me form beginning to end, I loved the hot steamy chemistry of Tobias and Sliver. I enjoyed and was engaged by this book from beginning to end. I read it in one sitting. Tobias is a protective alpha who has trouble trusting. Sliver is down to earth and understands where Tobias is coming from. Megyn's word and character building were awesome and will draw you in to her book and have you rooting for their HEA! So grab your copy today and see if they get their HEA! I can't wait to read more of this series! I will definitely be reading more form this author!

3.5 rounded up to 4

Overall, this was an easy read. The book started out on the darker side so I wasn't sure what to expect. Four boys are in a group home for boys, then the story shifts to them as adults. Tobias is the focus of this one (obviously) and we get to know him a little more.

Silver is our FMC who ends up in a one night stand with an older gentleman named Tobias. They happened to run into each other five years later due to a work incident. Let's just say their lives are forever changed.

It starts out in an interesting setting that wasn't quite touched on again in the story, but I'm curious about what is going on there. Hopefully we revisit it somewhere in the series because I am invested!

Two strangers, collision, passion and aftermath - this is the sort summery for Tobias.
I liked Silver a bit more than Tobias. For me the male mail character was a bit too much "I get what I want" type. Silver on the other hand was more down to earth and real. Not too much drama, just enough to make you want to jump in and give a good kick in the but to the characters so that they might get a bit of good sense in them :)
This aside - I liked the book as it was entertaining, smart and had just the right amount of sarcasm to satisfy my appetite like all the Megyn Ward's books.

Awe-inspiring

Firstly, this is the first time I’ve ever read anything from Megyn Ward.

Secondly, I am extremely glad that I’ve gotten in on the beginning of this sexy and hot as sin brothers.

Tobias and Silver’s chemistry is like an light switch , just waiting to be switched on. You’ll even fall for the sub characters in Book.

This series is starting off with a great storyline, and I’m DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing more from the Kings of Brighton.

My first book by this author and I can't wait to read more. Silver and Tobias met and were instantly attracted to each other. After spending a passionate night together, due to a misunderstanding the following morning Tobias assumes she knew who he was and had targeted him so he leaves whilst Silver is still asleep after putting a large amount of money on the table for her. Five years later they meet again when Tobias is thinking of investing in her restaurant not realising who she is. Can they get past the hurt and distrust and have a chance at a life together. Loved it.

Second chance and redemption must read!

Tobias book one of The Kings of Brighton series is a must read. Tobias and Silver come together beautifully. Tobias doesn't trust anyone but the family he made himself. Mother dies when he is just a child father unknown and sent to a boys home. He meets his what he calls brothers and family. Silver comes along one night out to celebrate her birthday but not really wanting to go. But on this night it changes everything for Tobias and Silver.
He learns something new about himself and She learns a whole new life.
Grab your copy of Tobias it's a wonderful spicy read full of surprises.

This is Tobias and Silvers love story, and it’s pretty good. Honestly, I give it about 3 1/2 stars.

Tobias is one of four boys that end up at a boys home. These four boys band together and create their own family at the home and then later in life. Silver meets Tobias at the age of 18 and they have a one night fling and she becomes pregnant, but she never tells him about the baby. Queue five years later and Tobias and Silver run into each other again. I thought the actual love part of the story was rushed and a little weak… especially the ending. It was very abrupt. The authors writing was smooth though, but little romance at all and little time spent unifying the two leads.

⭐️:2.5 🔥: 3

This book started off promising, but I was very quickly very distracted by the astonishing number of spelling and grammatical errors. Who edited this book?? I kept reading, and wound up just feeling bored. A second chance/secret baby romance should have a whole lot more angst than this one did. And, one of my biggest pet peeves in single parent romances, that kid did not even remotely act or speak like a 4 year old (even a super mature one). Noah’s speech and behavior would be a lot more believable if he were a mature, kinda sassy 7 or 8 year old, but as a 4 year old it was just not even plausible. (And I say this as a parent who presently is raising my second 4 year old!)

Overall, a “meh” read and I won’t be continuing the series.

Honestly, I put off reading this book after reading the most current addition of The Gilroy Clan. I mean, how many times have you loved a series and then tried to move on to the next one and been disappointed? WHY AM I SO STUPID? And where is the next addition to The Kings of Brighton?!? LOL! I love a strong heroine paired with an alpha man. The story was entertaining and kept a good pace. As is her way, Megyn richly develops these characters in a way that has you rooting for that HEA and longing to know more about everyone involved.
A great start to another fantastic series!!

This is a testament of a broken mans resolve.
He saw what he wanted to to not be attached he pushed his fears on the one person who was genuine.
Years later he sits across from the one who got away and who now holds his future in her hands in more ways than one.
She is not giving him much room to grovel and apologize she's moved on and his taste may still linger on her lips but the reality is that he was judge and executioner years ago and forgiveness was not part of it.

Loved, loved, loved this book. I can't wait to read all of the Gilroy series that came before it and all of the Brighton Kings stories still to come. This is my first read by this author and it was so good that I can't stop thinking about it. Tobias and Silver's story held me captive from page one and even though it has a great HEA, I hated to see it end. It's emotional and absorbing with wonderful characters, especially 5 year old Noah who practically stole the whole show. This book is a really excellent read.

Silver and Tobias belong together. Then end.

Except stuff (life) keeps happening and they don't communicate that well and then they get separated.

Who is she really? I think she is here to use me, even though I picked her up in a bar...
Who is he? Seems super rich, but he treated me bad, so I will move on with my life and never see him again...

Surprise, life puts them back together again. Repeatedly.

Good writing. Made me want to get the next one. I am loving that one less than this one, but it isn't bad.

Megyn Ward series books are the best!

I've read the Gilroy Clan series from Megyn Ward and they were beyond awesome! That's a romance readers entertainment at its finest right there! However, I'm one book into the Brighton series and tickled to death as a good Southerner should be cause the Brighton series is in hot successful pursuit of more 5 Star ratings! Awesome! Can I say awesome too many times yes but Megyn Ward books are just beyond good and I can't read em fast enough! 5 Stars all the way. Moving onto "Logan" full steam ahead.
