Meine Meinung zu “Mr. and Mrs. X #1 (2018)“:
Ich glaube das jeder, der die Story von Gambit & Rogue verfolgt hat, von diesem Hochzeitsevent sehr angetan ist und das im positivem Sinne. Seit meiner Kindheit warte ich schon auf diesen Moment und nun ist es passiert: Gambit & Rogue haben geheiratet. Wahnsinn!!! Bereits am 30. Juni 2018 habe ich, durch das von Humberto Ramos‘ kreiertem und präsentierte Cover, von diesem Event und Comic Serie erfahren. Hach, was war ich in euphorischer Stimmung. Nun habe ich auch endlich den Schritt gewagt und mir die erste Ausgabe von „Mr. & Mrs. X #1“ besorgt. Ich habe jedoch nicht die Cover Ausgabe von Humberto Ramos, sondern die von Terry Dodson, die mir allerdings auch sehr gut gefällt. Doch mein Favorit unter diesen Covern, wird immer das von Humberto Ramos bleiben (siehe Bild links).
Nun zum Inhalt:
Im Inlay werden wir, durch einen kurzen Prolog, in die Geschichte und dessen Geschehnis eingeleitet.
Im Grunde genommen war, dem Anschein nach, die Hochzeit nicht einmal von den beiden geplant. Da die Hochzeit ihrer Freunde Kitty & Piotr quasi geplatzt ist, haben Gambit und Rogue ihre Chance ergriffen und geheiratet. Was ja auch langsam mal Zeit wurde.
Die Szenarien drehen sich einschließlich um die „kurz vor Eheschließung“ Vorbereitungen und wer noch unerwartet auf der Hochzeit auftaucht. Wir erleben einen sehr ungeduldigen und sehr aufgeregten Gambit, der es kaum erwarten kann, seine Rogue zu heiraten. Dies ist ein Szenario, das ich wirklich lustig finde, denn so kenne ich Gambit überhaupt nicht.
Was ich wirklich super fand war, dass man endlich erwähnt das Mystique (wie im Originalen und ursprünglich) Rogue‘ Mutter ist bzw. diejenige, die sie großgezogen hat. Ich habe diese Geschichte in der 90er X-Men Cartoon Serie verfolgt. Ein glorioser Moment in dieser Ausgabe und wirklich herzerwärmend, wie sich Rogue und Mystique in die Arme nehmen.
Genial war auch, dass sich eine mir schon lange gestellte Frage somit beantwortet hat: es handelt sich hierbei um Rogue‘ Kräfte und zwar die, dass sie sich Gambit eigentlich gar nicht nähern, geschweige denn küssen dürfte. Sie trägt ein Mega Halsband um den Hals, welches verhindert, dass sie Gambit mit ihren Kräften verletzt und dies ist hier eindeutig zu erkennen, zumal Rogue sich mit Beast über dieses Halsband unterhält. Was ich mit dem Letzteren meine ist, dass diese Thematik unterstrichen wird um Klarheit zu verschaffen. Genial!!!
Schwingen wir nun zum Highlight dieses Comics rüber und zwar zur Eheschließung: Rogue trägt kein übliches weißes Kleid, sondern ein typisches Pastell grünes Rogue Kleid, passend zu ihrem Charakter. Für meinen Geschmack eine sehr gute Farbwahl. Dieses Szenario der Eheschließung wurde jedoch sehr kurz und knappgehalten. Ich hatte eigentlich viel mehr erwartet. Ich war eigentlich sehr gespannt darauf, wer noch alles auf der Hochzeit auftauchen würde. Egal, bei 22 Seiten wurde das Ganze sehr gut in kurzen und schönen Szenarien dargestellt.
Die Farben, die Dialoge und die komplette Darstellung sind wirklich Top gelungen. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, dass Band #02 am August 22, 2018 erscheinen wird, welches ich mir auf Anhieb besorgen werde.
Auch wenn ich von der Anzahl der Seiten ein wenig enttäuscht bin, bekommt jedoch der Inhalt meine volle Punktzahl und zwar 5 Sterne von 5.

Picked this up out of a lot of curiosity as I'm not a big X-men comic guy (Though I've always enjoyed the movies) even though I've always wanted to get into them and Rogue and Gambit are one of those specific parts of the universe I've been interested in and I found this to be a pretty good and fun jumping on point for the characters. All the wedding stuff was really cute and touching at times (Though still a little off feeling considering how it came about), and Tompson seems to be really taking advantage of the part of the Marvel Universe bringing in all kinds of neat references to stuff and things I've admittedly only ever heard about but was still perfectly able to recognize. Overall I really liked this and am going to give at least the next issue a shot and if I like that, this'll probably go on my pull.

It's really funny to see Rogue and Gambit arguing about all kinds of ridiculous things as a married couple. I don't know how to feel about Mystique being at the wedding since I'm not sure where she stands with the X-Men at the moment since I haven't really kept up with Marvel comics recently. I'm really happy to see them working well together, though. It very much feel alike watching Mr. And Mrs. Smith, so the title is very fitting. Can't wait to read next issue.

I hate issue #1 of almost anything, because too often it is "tell all the back story, so that we can get to the real stories in issue #2 or 3." I also know nothing about our title characters, beyond recognizing their names. But… this was cute and fun and some action and…a twist at the end. This is the best #1 I've read in a long time!

I needed to start buying comics again like I need a hole in my head. That being said when I discovered that Gambit and Rogue (my two favorite superheros of all time) have a new monthly series of their own, I had to pick up the first two issues. Super pumped to get caught up on this and start buying monthly. Here we go again!

Gambit was my favorite X-Men growing up and I always enjoyed the chemistry he and Rogue had. This was a fun first issue with the humor you would expect and enough action to get the plot going. I'm not a big fan of the art style yet but that may grow on me as I continue the series.
