That’s right. It took me five years to read the last three issues 😂
These are free on MU, and I enjoy reading an issue as sort of an intermission between the more serious comic runs I dig into. I never had much luck getting into Droids, but I like the lush backgrounds and the expansion of the Star Wars Universe when creators were allowed to take that universe in whatever direction they wanted.
Great collection of old-school Ewok adventures in comics! Loved the ahead-of-its-time story about the female Ewoks being just as capable of defending and leading as the males!
In general these aren’t particularly good, but if you’re taking the time to read these old Ewok comics you probably aren’t here for compelling storytelling.
On the other hand, they (the Ewoks and the comics) are very endearing and cute. It was a nice, enjoyable read (even though Wicket insulted those poor lizard people and the adult Ewoks are kinda upsetting looking).
I recommend this for anyone who is a fan of Ewoks and all things cute in Star Wars. You’ll find plenty of adorable new creatures to love in these.
To be honest, I don't know what I was expecting from a comic about Ewoks. :-D Obviously, I am not the target market, but still. This one is... silly.
My 6yo son couldn't take his eyes off it the first time through, totally enthralled for over an hour. He hasn't picked it up since, unlike literally every other Star Wars thing he's had in his hands. That says what needs saying, I guess.
Great little corner of the Star Wars universe. These comics were based on the show, but often showcased the Ewoks better than their cartoon counterparts! We cover them all on This Endorian Life: https://thisendorianlife.podbean.com/
