Their average age is around 20, the oldest is only 30. But they all have forever left their names at all the major international competitions and all the professional forums. In Chinese, in English, in numbers, or just a nickname, they are all legends without any reservations.
They deserved to be legends because they have written the history of the whole esports era.
And this era will never end:
“Our dreams had died long ago, but all the experiences and glory will be renewed once again, from this moment onward.”
It was sooooo good ,also why am i crying ? I loved everything about this novel ,all the characters had so depth and emotion in them.
The story goes with Ai Qing with her name and glory in e sports ,she was a part of the most popular team called Solos team. But they had to disband due to some issues , this news caused a tsunami in the e sports world .Then after a few years she joins another team sadly gets eliminated in the nation league by a fifteen year old called DT our MMC .
Then we see their journey with e sports for about ten years ,on and off . Ai Qing really misses her old days and glory ,playing side by side with her team. She then becomes a manager in SP biggest e sports club in china and second biggest ?of gun her old teamate.
solo then esambles his old teammates and created an ultimate team all of them not wanting to leave this circle ,wanting to hold onto it for a little longer ,yearning for that glory gives them all.
Then finally at least comes the momen for Ai Qng to feel that same what she felt 10 years back .With solo on her left gun on her right and all and xiomi together they got to play for one last time as the best team of chinese esports . Though they lost it was a historical moment they all were overwhelmed with such emotion that some cried.
I really loved the story the characters ,it feels like i am one of them . i am so sad that it came to an end.But honestly i wanted to see more of Appledog and DT .DT promised to take her with this journey and he did.
“This was my era This was your era, too”
these words struck me like a lightning ,it was so beautiful ,they cried for grief and sadness and happiness .
They have left this but they will forever be a legend because they have written the history of the whole e sports era .And this era will never end .
“Our dreams have died long ago ,but all the experiences and glory will be renewed once again, from this moment onward”
I enjoyed this one way more than I thought I would.
DT/ Wu Bai took me by surprise. He is one of my favorite types of ML. He was smart, funny, cunning and sweet. Not to mention the definition of devoted. Almost too good to be true but MBFB gave him a few quirks and he made a few mistakes so he was never perfect. Plus, he was such a fanboy of the FL.
Appledog/ Ai Qing was a smart woman who not only made a name for herself in an overwhelmingly male field (e sports) but she dominated when she played. I loved that she was so confident and never under played her talent. I also loved that she was such a good friend.
The side characters were fun (Inin and 97 were quite funny) and the game play was easy to follow. A definite re-read at some point.
This is the companion book to Go Go Squid, and it is the story of Wu Bai/Dt and Ai Qing/Appledog. Quite a bit of angst and tension, but overall it's an enjoyable romance with an esports background. Set in China with some travel overseas for competitions, the reader who is unfamiliar with
The second season of Go Go Squid is loosely based on this novel, but the TV series has a robotics focus instead of gaming, which I don't care for because of the lack of continuity with series one. I gather the Chinese government was trying to take focus from gaming in the interest of discouraging young people from being addicted. There is a lot of nationalism in the TV show, but it's downplayed a bit in the novel. If you like light novels, this is a well-translated one.
I enjoyed this one more than I expected. I had watched the show Go Go Squid first and wasn't enjoying the second season as much as the first. Picked this up on a whim when I heard about it. But I am glad I did, since it helped me enjoy the show's second season more as I read it while watching. While I don't like that they changed the nature of the competition in the show, it was still good. I do wish there had been a bit more interation between the love interests and a tad less of the esports. Some of the scenes between the two seemed to start getting good just as the scene abruptly ended. It was quite jarring.
Didn't care for either FL or ML characters in Honey Stewed Squid or the drama Go Go Squid but was pleasantly surprised to like their character and stories here. Would skip the prologue and just read this story. Considering watching the second Go Go Squid season now ^^
I got more into the game play as the story progressed and enjoyed seeing each character seen from the perspective of Ai Qing as a team mate or mentor immersed in the esports world. A nice contrast to Tong Nian from Honey Stewed Squid.
I had no idea GR had Asian webnovels on it lmao. If I added all the ones I’d read my book count would be astronomical, so I won’t… Anyways, I rarely finish a web novel bc I usually get bored and lose interest halfway. But this? God, I loved it! Especially DT. It’s been ages since I’ve read this but I still remember DT and god, he’s wonderful!
I can't believe I'm about to say this, but this was prettttyyyy boring. I read Chinese novels because it's beautifully written and dramatic, but this was a mediocre mix of those two.
I still would read the other volumes maybe because it'll improve. I only came here for Hu Yitian tbh.
