Twisted End is the third of three prequel novellas that are opening up Tara Thomas’ new romantic suspense Sons of Broad series. The three novellas definitely need to be read in order together as they are all one continuing story line.

In the first novella readers were introduced to detective Janie Roberts who had been working undercover as a bartender while working a case searching for a killer. Janie had met the handsome and charming Brent Taylor and became involved with him even though he may have been a suspect in the case.

After starting the relationship with Brent Janie had been fired from her job with the police force but then found herself the target of the serial killer. As the relationship grew between the pair so did the danger with the killer.

Twisted End is the perfect title for this third installment of the novella set. The danger had been ramped up as the story continue along with the steamy love story. The story was finally finished for Janie and Brent although the author did leave an opening for the full length novels coming soon to the series. When finished overall the novellas made a great introduction to the series to lead readers to Darkest Night which will change the main couple.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

So this novella picks up right after HIDDEN FATE, and it was my favorite of the three novellas. It was non stop action and Janie, and Brent's story is brought to a satisfactory and happy end. That said, the overall baddie storyline with the GENTLEMAN continues on. We are left with a few hints on his identity (I have a theory on who he might be), and we know he has his eye on Alyssa. So I suspect we will be seeing more of him in the full-length novels (Alyssa's at the very least). All in all, I enjoyed all three of these novellas, and I am looking forward to diving into all three of the full-length books. All three of them featuring characters we meet in the novellas. This one gets two thumbs up from yours truly.

Thank you St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's a good finale for Janie and Brent's story. Out of the three novellas, this is the best one because it has a lot of action. Janie was kidnapped by the suspect and they're on a face-off. Brent and Alyssa (Janie's BFF) are tracking them and they must save Janie's life before it's too late. As for the Gentleman, this guy was a brilliant villain. What a sly bastard. I'll give this book a 3.5 rating.

Twisted End is the final prequel novella to the Sons of Broad series. I am going to assume you have read the previous two novellas and give a name to the man who has been terrorizing Janie and killing those poor women.

First, I would like to begin saying that I am still dying to know who the gentleman is. I don't want to wait for three full-length novels to be released before we find it out. I cannot wait so long! He gave a few hints, but nothing more and it frustrated me. Secondly, I knew that Mark was the man who shared his point of view with us in the first novella and was guilty of killing people. I am not happy that his relationship with Ashley was ruined because he seemed like a good man, but I am happy that I was right. I really liked him at first, but now he has gone coo-coo and Janie's life is in danger.

As anyone would expect, Twisted end is packed with suspence and action since Janie is fighting for her life and Brent is trying to find her before it's too late. I am still not sure why Brent so so involved in all that stuff considering that he is not a cop or something similar. Still, the novella was good and it gave a proper ending to these characters.

After having read the three novellas, I can say that I would recommend them and the first full-length book sounds promising.

We come down to it. Things have now come to a head and the danger is intense. This final novella has the face down it was building toward. It was fast-paced and exciting. I will deliver no spoilers for the first two novellas, but I am happy to say that my suspicions about the stalker were right.

Janie and Brent both got tough for this one and I liked seeing that. Alyssa still remains my favorite character and I can't wait to see more of them.

Yes, that is a broad hint that I will be continuing forward into the main books of the series. This series of prequels did their job leaving me curious to about Bea and Alyssa's further story and most of all, I need more villain The Gentleman.

I'm counting on the fact that the rest of the series are novel-length so development will be stronger and characters and relationships deeper developed. I suppose one could leap into the main part of the series without the these three prequel novellas, but I for one enjoy all the background I can get.

My thanks to St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Twisted End was an amazing conclusion to the three prequel novellas in the Sons of Broad series.

Janie and Brent thought they had more time before the killer would make his next move, but they were wrong. With Janie now missing, Brent is left searching for her as she fights to stay alive. Brent doesn't know who he can trust after it becomes clear someone close to them has been behind everything. Will Janie manage to thwart her kidnapper? Will Brent manage to find her in time?

The pacing in this final novella was fantastic and everything moves along fairly quickly with the tension ramping up with every scene. Twisted End picks up right where Hidden Fate ended with Janie kidnapped and Brent searching for her. It was interesting seeing Janie and Brent work separately in this novella as previously most of their scenes have been with them together. I definitely enjoyed them separately though as it allowed you to see more of their individual strengths and weaknesses.

The ever present Gentleman appears again behind the scenes pulling the strings. I'm dying to know who he is and how he's connected to everyone. It's become clear that he'll be the "big bad" behind the scenes in the rest of the series and I'm interested to see what chaos he causes in future books.

Overall, the three prequel novellas were a lot of fun to read and I would highly recommend reading all three together as the story flows best when read one right after another. I'm looking forward to the full-length books in the Sons of Broad series and can't wait to read them.

this novella installment doesn't work.
Does it leave the reader with cliffhangers.. sure
Does it make the reader absorb every word.. not at all
this novella can easily be skimmed and not much will be missed.
I think the author would have had more success combining all these novella's into one book and it would have held my interest more. It felt everything was made to be longer than necessary to hit a novella length. I'm sure these installments could have been 1 book under 150 pages instead of the 3 part serial at 236 pages. There is rumor to be more of this story in later serials but it wont be for me.
I think the author can write a good suspense just that it doesn't work in a serial for me. It would have been rated higher if I hadn't just finished the serial before this because both books truly tell the same long winded story.

After reading the first two novellas as ARC's I declined this third one because I just didn't like them. But my library bought it and I decided to see if the story actually had an ending. I loved the characters and the old money entitled Charleston, SC setting and the plot was intriguing, but after the second novella I just didn't care what happened.

Well, this novella did wrap up one point - "The Procurer" was reveled and It was the guy I figured from his first appearance in the first novella, yawn. The identity of "The Gentleman" is still a mystery, but clues indicate that he is tightly connected with the Charleston PD.

Bottom line - even though I liked the characters, the setting and the plot the writing was just not to my liking. I will not continue with this series.

I liked it. Some things in the plot I thought were a bit unbelievable and that's why I gave it three stars. I just didn't follow the reasoning behind it. I kept saying "um, you could totally have just done...."

Also, needs a bit of proofing. I found several typos or just had a sentence or two that were missing words.

I will be reading the next book in the series because I like this author. I would recommend it to a reader that likes thriller/who done it/fade to black sex scenes.

So we make to the end and my predictions were correct, for one of the evil doers anyway. So Brent and Alyssa end up saving Jenna, which I really have no clue how she allowed herself to get caught, but regardless. When I finished I was thinking no way, no way could it end like that when we still have questions. Well the good news if you see it like that is that there are 3 more books to read with the remaining cast of these 3 novellas. I probably wouldn't continues but now I need to know who the heck is this Gentleman?

Twisted End brings us to the suspenseful conclusion of the three novellas that start the Sons of Broad series. We were left with a cliffhanger at the end of Hidden Fate and this novella picks up right where that left off.

Tara has been building this story us and leaving little clues in the first two books as to who the killer is, and if you've been paying close attention you probably had your suspicions on who it is. I had an inkling by the end of Shattered Fear.

This last novella was very fast paced and the shortest of the three. It is action packed and had my heart racing and my fingers turning the pages to see how everything was going to play out. The reader gets another glimpse into The Gentleman, and based on the little bit Tara gives us on him, I am excited to move on to the first full length book, which will be about Tilly, the girl that Janie befriended at the club where she worked undercover.

Alyssa plays a big part in this final novella, and Tara is torturing me a little with holding off on Alyssa's full story until the third full length book of the series. The second book will be about Bea, Brent's half sister.

These three novellas have been quick and fun to read. There has been plenty of suspense and mystery, but also a great love story between Janie and Brent. I wish that Tara had combined all three of these novellas into one full length story and added more for us on Janie and Brent, but hopefully they will make plenty of appearances in the three full length books.

NetGalley and St. Martin's Press provided me an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Talk about keeping you on the edge of your seat!!! Twisted End picks up right where Hidden Fate left off and boy does this story pack a punch. It hits the ground running and will leave you breathless in anticipation. It will answer your questions, but at the same time, leave you with many more.

From crazy twists and moments that had you holding your breath, Twisted End had it all. There is suspense and danger around every corner. You will be burning through the pages quickly, wanting to see how the story will play out. I loved the mystery. I loved trying to figure everything out. And while Janie and Brent's story does come to a conclusion in Twisted End, I for one am looking forward to diving further into this series and learning who exactly "The Gentleman" is.

Twisted End finishes the trilogy begun in Shattered Fear, or, at least it gives closure to Janie and Brent’s story-line. Janie has been kidnapped and Brent and Alyssa are on a desperate search to rescue her before it is too late. This is the shortest of the three novellas, but packs the most action. It was pretty much non-stop action and I enjoyed it much more than the second novella. We are left at the end with many questions, most pressing of them, who is the Gentleman and will he be caught? I’m not 100% sure I’m completely sold on this series yet, but Thomas has me invested enough that I want to read the full length novels to find out how the villain is caught and to get Tilly, Bea and Alyssa’s story.

The final book in the prequel wraps up at least part of the story with one of the villains revealed and it turned out to be exactly who I thought it was in the first novella so pretty obvious. The action was pretty intense although I'm still not sure how Janie was so easily caught by the villain. I'm not a fan of the novella approach and breaking down what would be one book into three smaller ones. However, with that said I am very intrigued about who the Gentleman is and that my issues with the novellas will be resolved with a full length book where we can have more character and relationship development.

A copy of this book was provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion

This is the twisted ending to the trilogy prequel and twisted it is. Janie is kidnapped and hallucinating after being drugged. We still do not know who The Gentleman is (but suspicions are raised). This was full of twists and turns but eventually Janie and Brent do get their happy ending...or do they? Since this is a prequel we will have to see.

If you go on this journey, please make sure you read these in order or you will be lost, hopelessly lost. It was a fun journey to go on for me, though.

Last part of the serial whose goal is to present the town where a bad guy known by his minions under the name The Gentleman calls the shots and gets rid of all those bothering him. At the end of this part, we don’t know who he is. The author solves a first mystery: the death of the man charged with getting rid of Janie. Tara Thomas also presents the heroines of the longer stories that will follow: Tilly, heroine in Darkest Night (27 February), Bea, in Deadly secret (27 March) and Alyssa, in the last volume, Broken promise (26 June).

M/F Thriller
Triggers: Kidnapping and Murder

Janie and Brent are racing for their lives. This starts right where the previous novella stops and this did not disappoint. It's constant action from beginning to end.

Despite the puppet master still pulling strings, for Janie and Brent, their story comes to somewhat of an end. They believe that everything will be OK and I really was glad that Janie was able to keep her relationships in tact.

There are still bad people lingering, but hopefully all of those questions will be answered in the true series, which I also recommend reading.

I was super excited to get this one and read it after the previous 2 novellas, I still wish that all three novellas were just put as one book. I understand what the author was trying to do here but it didn't hit the mark for me.

I was holding my breath through a lot of this one. I will admit I want to continue the story, I want to find out who Gentleman is. So many things that I still need to know!!!

I read this one super quick and hope that someone catches those typos :P

This was by far my favorite novella in the series. Do youself a Favor get all the Novellas
before you start the full length novels. I feel it’s a must.
Janie can’t believe who’s been sending her the threats.
Trying to remain calm until Brent comes for her she doesn’t know what she’s going to do.

Brent is beside himself. He can’t live without Janie. He’ll find her.
It’s a race against the clock but he will stop at nothing.

Must read..

The Gentleman is back in all his dangerous glory, wreaking havoc on the sultry streets of Charleston South Carolina, and this is one faced paced ride. The Twisted End is the final prequel novella in The Son's of Broad Series. Threats and evil lurk on every corner as the puppet master pulls his strings. With a cast of compelling characters, this wraps up the story line for Janie and Brent, but in no way provides the answers to your questions.

The investigation is still active, and clues just below the surface. Are the answers in plain sight? I guess we'll have to read the first book to see what, or who's devastation is next.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars- TWISTED END is the third of three parts in the introductory story line of Tara Thomas’ SONS OF BROAD romantic, suspense series. This is police officer /investigator Janie Roberts, and wealthy playboy philanthropist Brent Taylor’s continuing story line. TWISTED END should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately following the events of part two HIDDEN FATE

NOTE: if you have not read the first two serialized instalments there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from several third person perspectives including Janie and Brent TWISTED END is the conclusion to a three-part serialized story line focusing on the take down of a serial killer targeting young women in the Charleston area. With Janie Roberts missing, her best friend and fellow police officer Alyssa Adams, along with Janie’s boyfriend Brent Taylor, discover the true identity of the man stalking our story line heroine. With the killer one step ahead, Brent and Alyssa track down a man who is more than familiar to the story line characters. What ensues is the search and rescue of Janie Roberts, and the potential fall out as one man goes down while another remains on the run.

TWISTED END is a very quick read; a lively, action-packed, intriguing conclusion to the introductory story line that introduces the players in a game of cat and mouse. Although the identity of ‘The Gentleman’ in charge has yet to be revealed, my suspicions run towards a prominent figure in the Charleston area- a man who will continue to target and terrorize the local female inhabitants. The premise is energetic; the characters are animated; the romance is fated towards a happily ever after. The identity of the killer is easily deduced early on in the series; the identity of ‘The Gentleman’ in charge is an on-going puzzle but I have my suspicions. The series continues with Tilly Brock's story DARKEST NIGHT (February 27, 2018).

I will add, that in all honesty, I am not a fan of serialized novels, and my rating would have been higher if I did not have to review a little at a time. It is difficult to comment for any serialized story line, when there is little to no difference between each progressive instalment on the author’s writing style, world building etc. A serialized novel is ONE book that has been divided into several instalments with each successive instalment furthering the story-thusly-writing a myriad of reviews for a partial story tends to focus on the events and not on any particular changes to writing skill, structure and sound.

The final installment, the Twisted End, for the serial prologue of the new Sons of Board series is an intense, savage, and chilling story with the revelations about the culprit mastermind called The Gentleman, and the hints of the drama and tragedy to come in the future stories in the series.
The kidnapper and killer of the young ladies have to reveal himself to Janie, Brent, and Alyssa to follow the new orders by The Gentleman. He is whom I thought he would be, and the fight for survival is brutal and frantic.
The relationship between Janie and Brent has been developing throughout the novellas as it does in this installment. Their connection is true and tight, the chemistry and passion, as well as tender caring and fierce protection, witness their deep feelings for each other. There is nothing they wouldn't do to keep the other safe. One of the things I like the most about Janie and Brent is the way they are equal in their relationship, they are a team, partners, lovers, and friends, and I loved that.
I really wish these three prologue novellas would have been one tightly built title, where the intensity of the crime and action as well as the depth and strength from the romance and friendships would have had a chance to go deep and spread wide and be as explosive as it could have been.
But despite my personal lack of interest when it comes to serial stories, these three prologue novellas managed to bring up the curiosity and interest towards the future full-length books in the series. I want to know more about the man Bea was meeting at her office, I want her and Alyssa find their future partners in love and life as well.
A sharp, vicious, and fierce Twisted End properly set my anticipation high for the book one in the Sons of Board series.

This concluding episode deals with Janie's kidnapping and Brent and Alyssa's quest to find her.

Janie has been drugged which leaves her with slow reactions and hallucinations. Her kidnapper didn't remove her phone from her back pocket though and, despite hands tied behind her back, she manages to call Brent which lets him know she's alive.

Alyssa grabs a tablet and tracks Janie's phone which leads them to an isolated forested area. They need to rescue Janie before the kidnapper steels himself to kill her.

After a fight which leaves Janie and Brent wounded and the kidnapper dead, The Gentleman decides Janie and Brent aren't a danger to him. He also kills a couple of young cops and frames one of them leading the police to believe that he was the kidnappers partner.

This series is among the least realistic I've ever read while trying to seem like a realistic story. Janie was kidnapped from a police picnic yet Alyssa doesn't alert the police to the kidnapping. She and Brent go off on their own to try to find her! She does indicate that the Charleston police force is fulled with corruption and she doesn't know who she can trust. But really? There are no officers that she can trust?

I am still curious about who The Gentleman is since he says that he fears Alyssa would recognize him. Hopefully, the full-length novels coming soon will answer that question.

Twisted End is the final novella of three prequel novellas in Tara Thomas’s new romantic suspense Sons of Broad series. The first two end on cliff-hangers, so spoilers ahead if you haven’t read the first two.

************************************************************************************
Janie has been drugged and kidnapped by her stalker. A man whose been kidnapping and murdering women from a local “Gentleman’s Club”. We now know who he is. There’s a mastermind behind of all these crimes though (“The Gentleman”), but the stalker isn’t quite playing by his rules.

It’s a race against time as Janie’s boyfriend Brent and her best friend Alyssa (a cop and former co-worker) try and find her. Janie’s going to do everything she can to try and escape.

Will she get away before the stalker hurts her more or worse? Will Brent and Alyssa find her in time?

I thought these novellas were a good introduction to the series. I’m hoping though that with the full-length novels, we get more into character development with the new characters.

I’m also very curious to find out who the “Gentleman” is. I’m hoping that we find that out in future books (which features different main characters than the novellas).

Twisted End is the third novella in the introductory serial that started with Shattered Fear, then Hidden Fate and now the conclusion. These three novellas started the Sons of Broad Series by Tara Thomas. While the next release is a full novel these three follow each other, together being the complete story of Janie and Brent. If you were to start reading with Twisted End, most likely you would feel that you were beginning in the middle of a story. That would be correct, so read these in order for best understanding and enjoyment.

The tension and suspense are ramped up in the third novella. It is much more intriguing as the first novella was. The momentum that was lost in the second is found in Twisted End. The part of the story starts out exactly where Hidden Fate ends. I found that some of my questions concerning the closest villain is explained as well as the HEA for Janie and Brent. Though all vilest is not caught, the intrigue is building with clues given. Still I found the conclusion to be satisfying. I’m hooked now determined to find out who “The Gentleman” really is.

Twisted End is the third of three prequel novellas in the exciting new upcoming Sons of Broad series by Tara Thomas. These three novellas must be read in order, and you must read all of them to get Janie and Brent's full story. This was a really good story leading into the series, and I would highly suggest reading these novellas prior to starting the first book. These novellas give a lot of insight into the series, introduce certain characters that will be essential throughout the upcoming books, as well as the dynamics between them.

Janie and Brent's story picks up right where it left off in Hidden Fate. There is a lot of action, mystery, and suspense in this book, as well as some unexpected twists and turns that you'll never see coming. It was a great way to wrap up the prequel, and prepare for the first book, which I'm looking forward to reading. I'm not going to give details about this book or the previous one's, because I don't want to give away spoilers for those who haven't read the others yet, but it was a great ending to the story.

I would recommend these prequel novellas, especially before continuing to book #1.

I have voluntarily reviewed this arc provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Twisted End is the conclusion to Janie and Brent's story, and from the first page you will be pulled right back into their little adventure, and once again teetering on the edge of your seat. In this installment Janie finds herself in the hands of a kidnapper, and it's up to Brent to locate her and save her, with the help of a few returning friends from previous installments. Once she is located and about to be saved things take another unexpected turn, and Alyssa is now in dangerous hands... and things are kicked up another notch, and there are still a lot of unanswered questions swirling around!

This little trio of novellas have been quite fun to sit down and devour, each are loaded with thrilling suspense, a smidgen of romance here and there, and lots of action to keep things exciting! I look forward to continuing the adventure in the next installment, and hope to find more answers!! Highly recommend you check out this series, it's sure to leave you spine tingling!!

“How did you move on when the worst-case scenario came to pass? Even more, how did you move on when you’d been part of what brought that scenario to pass?”

Feeling lost and alone while having to team up with someone you don’t completely trust that may hold all the cards in helping you track down the love of your life. How do you put that aside and entrust them to help you regain your world? Could you put her life in their hands?

“I’m not going to be rough, but I’m going to be very thorough and by the time I’m finished and we’re both too exhausted to move, you’ll know exactly how much I mean it.”

Fear, hope, defeat, anger, betrayal, love and scepticism. All of these thoughts were running through my mind as they were running out of time trying to outsmart the stalker.

This is the third prequel in this series and begins right where Hidden Fate ends. This book was great. It was action packed. Janie and Brent’s story is finished up in this book. However, that doesn’t mean that the bad guy, the Gentleman is caught. No, his story continues on. We get more clues as to who he is and I have my suspicions about who he is. Janie is taken by the man they have been looking for. Alyssa and Brent are determined to find her and save her. The man they have been on hunt for is someone who they thought they knew. However, he just a pawn of the gentleman. I look forward to reading the first full length novel. These prequels have sucked me in and I really like the characters. I recommend these prequels if you enjoy a bit of mystery.
