Full of secrets that weighed me down.
Full of drama and tension around every corner.

I felt like I was spinning around in a tornado until he came into my life...

“She was like a tornado, leaving devastation in her wake and she didn’t look back. Lucy kept going forward, sucking more things into her vortex and spitting them back out, battered.”

oh em gee!!!
What the hell did I just read?!?!

I don’t know if I liked this book or not.
This certainly fits into the taboo subject...
It's totally fucked up and chaotic just like Lucy’s.
I need more time to think and process everything.

Talk about hot mess tornado 😂

This book was... special. A weird sort of unique. It is VERY taboo. For many many different reasons. If you’re looking for safe and fluffy you can hit the back button now, because you will not find it in the pages of this book.

If you’re looking for a flawed heroine, who you probably shouldn’t like, but may end up loving... then you should one click it up. Because Lucy is a read that you will think... “why am I reading this?” multiple times, but you will still continue to read it, because it draws you in to the taboo happenings.

What a roller coaster, filled with so many emotions and twists!

This was definitely not the type of taboo I was expecting. But I am not disappointed at all. Lucy first comes off as plain rude, flaky and entitled. Once we get more interactions with other characters and we learn of her back story we come to love her. She’s the type of girl you instantly click with and just want to be around with. She is not perfect but she is aware of that and is okay being herself. I love that. I definitely want her to be with a specific someone. Their chemistry was off the charts! I was squirming so hard I was ready to befriend my pillow 😂 lol. I’m not too happy about the cliffhanger. Hope it comes out soon because I need to know who she ends up with!!

Lucy is that hot mess friend you have who just can't ever seem to get it together. She takes being a free spirit to a whole new level, but when she finds herself evicted, she's forced to re-evaluate her life choices.

I don't want to give too much of the book away, because I truly think it's best when you go in blind, but there is definitely an element of taboo (incest) but this story is so much more than that. In a lot of ways, it's sort of an over the top coming of age tale, with a girl who is old enough to know better, but still too young to want to do better.

Also, as a bonus, there are a whole host of characters in Lucy's life to fall in love with. James knocked this one out of the park for me!

Hurricane level 5

Lucy is a provocative , smutty , playful, intense , sensual and entertaining unconventional taboo story.

This tale isn't your run of the mill forbidden story . Lucy the heroine grips you by her hand and pulls you into her story, her craziness , self sabotaging, addictions and loves ; and like a feather in her category 5 hurricane of just have to ride it.

This book deals with few sensitive and controversial topics and could be and are triggers for some people; please, do not read it and then complaint about it. You have been warned.

My only complaint it's book ends in a cliffhanger ; I don't mind a cliffhanger, what I do mind it's not been told about it beforehand. It does say book two will be out soon.

How do you harness the wind?

How do you hold onto water?

Lucy is a HOT MESS. She's here, there, everywhere all at once. It's who she is. She's got family that loves her. Some who love her a little too much.

Isn't this life though? Sometimes there's no clear cut lines. Sometimes the black and white just don't exist and trying to fit everything into that drawn line ... is almost setting everyone up for failure.

This whirlwind of a hellraiser ... she lives up to her namesake. But don't let her antics sway you ... there's more to Lucy than you think. And it will take a special someone who can handle our dear Lucy.

Brace your self for the Hellraiser

This one isn't your typical boy loves girl book, this story stands on its own as the Storm this female lead is, I not only recommend but say if it's on you tbr move it up.
As I plead with any reader looking at my review this is a taboo subject book so if that isn't your cup of tea walk away, allow other get to know these characters experience their emotions and battles for themselves.

The author is new to me, the book has some taboo themes not for people who don’t like to read about sensitive subjects, but it’s not that taboo like I expected it. Lucy is a very crazy girl who lives her life very carefree and wild with no care in the world. Her life’s is turned when she gets evicted from her apartment, she has to find a place to live where she ends up staying with her brother Abel who she has had a very sexual relationship with him who we later find out is her adopted brother. He tries to set up boundaries with each other but Lucy is wild and doesn’t like it we meet Lauren, Abel uptight girlfriend who hates Lucy she ends up having to move in and repair her broken relationship with her twin sister. We also meet Hush who helps Lucy with a incident she had at work. The relationship starts from there were she tries to find s friend outside of her siblings. The story is good some very steamy scenes, overall I did enjoy the book just wished there was a disclaimer stating this book is not a standalone and it ends in a cliffhanger.

To be completely honest, I didn't know what to expect when I started this book and wow what a crazy good roller coaster this was!

Lucy is a hard story to read since it's so human and with so many flaws. But at the same time, this is also a crazy good story to read.

I really enjoyed the characters and their stories even if they were so unconventional. Lucy remind me of Fiona from Shameless and maybe that's why I really loved her with all her flaws. I also really enjoyed the other characters because all of them had something that made it easy to connect with.

This is an unconventional story but also a really good one. And that cliffhanger! 😭 I need to read book 2 ASAP.

Danielle is starting to have a grip on me with her stories and I can't wait to read more from her.

▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: taboo, workplace/office romance (co-workers)
▬ 𝐭𝐰: abuse, substance abuse, abortion, incest (adoptive brother x sister, sisters)

This book was unique and very taboo, but I’m here for it. I like how this book is not like a lot of other books I’ve read. One of my pet peeves are authors writing copy cat stories of other authors. This is not that. The story is totally different and I liked Lucy despite all her flaws. You really do come to know and love her throughout this novel but...am I the only one who was more invested in her relationship with Abel? If I’m being honest, her relationship with Chase felt fast and forced, and I had already invested so much emotion into Abel and Lucy at the start of the novel that I did not really care about Chase. I haven’t read book two yet, but I have a feeling it’s not going to end how I would like. Which isn’t a bad thing. I guess I’ll just have to find out.

Chaotic Lucy

WOW!! This story is all over the place in the best way possible!! It's taboo emotional funny and our "anti" heroine Lucy is a mess but she loves so da*n fiercely you really just can't help but feel for her. She's one of the most unique characters I've ever read and I am very excited to read the next book!!

The writing is really good the dialogue very real and it really comes through in the story.
I'm very much looking forward for the next book.

Wild and destructive, Lucy is a force of nature fueled by heartbreaking sadness. Abel Nora and Lucy are excitingly problematic and when Chase is added into their orbit, he just fits. I really hope we don’t see much more of Lauren she’s such a douche and I agree with Lucy, Abel can do so much better. I really hope he doesn’t tell Lauren any secrets. She will use them against them. Anxiously awaiting book 2. Well done 👍 Daniela James😂

Five flying stars!!!

I wasn’t too sure how I was going to like this book, and I freaking LOVED it!!! Everything about it!!! This is a book that needs to be read, everyone needs to meet Lucy and stick with her. She gives you a headache, makes you laugh like nobodies business, and you really genuinely feel for our girl. I absolutely recommend to everyone!! And we all have a bird we don’t like sqwacking around us!! (You know what I mean if you’ve read it)

Typically, when I read a book like this, I would get really pissed off at how it turned out. Too many points of view going on, a bait and switch with the hero, an all-around pretty unlikable heroine. She is the kind of hot mess that makes the whole year of 2020 look like an angelic, sleeping baby koala or something. But for Lucy, it all just worked. I can't wait to read book two and see how it all turns out.

Lucy is a crazy mess that draws you in. You never know what she is going to do or say!

Wow. Great book just hate a cliffy. Looking forward to the next one. Lucy is a little crazy but I liked her more and more as the book went on especially once she meets Hush/Chance. Noras fiancee was a tool. I couldn't stand Lauren and loved how Lucy called her bird. I hope Abel finds happiness.

...hmm...

This book truly did not get interesting until Lucy met Chase. I like Chase for Lucy as I believe it finally gives her a balance as well as an identity of her own separate from her brother. I’m not sure if I want to move forward and get the second book to the story and see how it ends still to be determined.

Chaotic and beautifully messy

Lucy, and this story, are a freakin whirlwind! The taboo wasn’t handled salaciously, it was just the way these screwed up, sensitive and loving people were. I adore Chase and hate that it ended on a cliffhanger, but look forward to book two.

Lucy, Abel & Chase. WOW!

I am happy that Lucy was able to stop drinking got a week because of Chase/Hush. I wish that Abel would get rid of Carmen/Lauren because she is trouble. She likes to pick fights with Lucy. Love the story but sad about the babies.
