This is a book of three short stories in a Pride and Prejudice vagary. The stories all have something to do with the problem of compromising a lady, which was easy to do in nineteenth century England. Any small thing could cause a great deal of trouble for anyone woman who was so-called compromised by a gentleman. Often it would mean the man had to make a decision to do the honorable thing, which in many cases was to marry the compromised woman. Indeed, such marriages could be problematic and it was up to the couple to come to terms with it. In the stories presented, Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet must determine how to deal with the resulting difficulties caused by others.
