Rate this book
Gemma's heart is in her up-market, home-removal business leaving only minimal time for the gym and shopping for clothes. Her divorced life is as full as she wants it to be. Geoff has left the UK to work in Saudi where he throws himself into his work. When Geoff decides to move homes, the two meet and sparks fly. A story of finding true but seemingly impossible love, founded on surprise circumstances and fought against. The couple are brought together by Megan, the owner of a small Scottish hotel and the intimate love making that follows changes both of their lives completely. Explicit in its telling the story of the E-Type Jag driving Gemma and the one relationship only Geoff is heart-warming and can only finish in a happy uplit ending.

Stephenson Holt

Stephenson Holt is an author that physically writes between 5am and 8am each morning, leaving that painting to sketch and dream for the rest of the day. Sometimes he returns into normality but not for long periods. For most of his life he is constructing one novel while sketching the next novel – it keeps the mind fresh.
His favourite sketch and dream places are;-
I. Lying on a beach listening to the waves.
II. A favourite armchair in the conservatory with heavy rain on the roof.
III. Laying in a hot bath staring at a tiled wall.
IV. Sitting next to a canal where he used to fish as a boy.
V. Motorway driving.
VI. That chair in the corner of the greenhouse, shielded from the sun by that grapevine and next to the olive tree, full of bird feeders.
VII. Gardening with a corner of his eye on the sparrow returning to the nest in the eaves above him and imagining he’s the sparrow looking down on himself.
VIII. Running a familiar route where he doesn’t have to concentrate on where he’s going.

When stuck for inspiration he will;-
I. Listen to an episode of “The Invisible College” a series of ten minute podcasts from BBC Radio 4 that sit nicely on an iPod.
II. Listen to a three album collection converted to CD of Jack Kerouac reciting and backed by either piano or saxophone. Including “Poetry for the beat generation” and “American Haikus.”
III. Fight like a superhero with a six year old grandson.
IV. Walk in the hills.

A refreshingly ‘normal’ story from this author, in the early part of reading, anyway. Stephenson Holt’s books are more usually inhabited by witches, vampires and other such beings that are not normally found in everyday life on the planet earth; not as far as we ordinary mortals know of, anyway.

I therefore approached the story of Gemma, a successful businesswoman running her own removals company, and Geoff, a well-heeled wonder who becomes her latest client, with some trepidation. Surely I was being lulled into a feeling of false security before said witch, vampire or whatever suddenly emerged from hiding somewhere between the pages and took the story in a totally unexpected direction?

But I read on, undaunted, and got to the end without any surprises; well, maybe, but the author couldn’t resist just a little bit of what he does best; and you will have to read it yourself to see what he did. Before you get to that, however, you will read the story of the growing relationship of Gemma and Geoff, complete with sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll.

Great romance read

This is the first book I've read from this author and I will absolutely be checking out his other books.
It's a great well rounded romance with familiar tropes.
Gemma is independent and beautifully crafted. Geoff is sweet in his almost innocence but the romance is HOT.

GREAT BOOK! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
