A naive but tough urban fantasy heroine's made a pact with the devil so she can jump around the world via "helldrops" - just look into a flame, picture your destination and pop! You're there. Via Hell. Just watch out for demons. What the price of his may be is still uncertain. She's also become an absolutely clueless arms dealer in order the support her sister. Her broker wants a tank... OK, not a tank. But it looks like one, right? With the power of Hell on her side, how badly could things go?
While it's not the most original style, I liked the underlying idea and the writing's pretty easy going. I think Robin would have to grow on me a bit more to stand out from the pantheon of kick-ass-but-clueless UF ladies. It's a perfectly good demon-based urban fantasy though, and would be a great match for anyone looking for your standard UF fix. This is a short read, so a great testing the water to see if you like the present tense writing and the stubborn, sassy tone of the lead character.
