Robin is an arms smuggler with a bit of magic under her belt. When her secretary asks for a tank, she sets out to steal one and get paid. But how on earth can she get away clean when a jungle army patrol, band of rebels, and literal demons from hell all stand in her way?
Find out in Hell on Wheels - a thrilling prelude to the thrilling Brimstone Hustle urban fantasy series!
A naive but tough urban fantasy heroine's made a pact with the devil so she can jump around the world via "helldrops" - just look into a flame, picture your destination and pop! You're there. Via Hell. Just watch out for demons. What the price of his may be is still uncertain. She's also become an absolutely clueless arms dealer in order the support her sister. Her broker wants a tank... OK, not a tank. But it looks like one, right? With the power of Hell on her side, how badly could things go?
While it's not the most original style, I liked the underlying idea and the writing's pretty easy going. I think Robin would have to grow on me a bit more to stand out from the pantheon of kick-ass-but-clueless UF ladies. It's a perfectly good demon-based urban fantasy though, and would be a great match for anyone looking for your standard UF fix. This is a short read, so a great testing the water to see if you like the present tense writing and the stubborn, sassy tone of the lead character.
Color me intrigued....this little 25 page preview has me wanting to read more..the concept is intriguing indeed...i think the books would be a fun read...hopefully one day book 1 will appear on a free list or the author will need arc readers
