A helpful explanation of the changes many women go through with menopause. In general, it is a no-nonsense approach to adapting these changes. Mostly she recommends supplements rather than doctor-prescribed medicines.

The science is always changing it seems. She recommends a very low-fat diet and highlights the negative effects of too much protein. Nowadays all I hear about is the importance of "good" fats and the necessity of extra protein. What will be the new emphasis in 20 years?

This book was so NOT what I was looking for. If I want to make a full-time job/hobby of my health, then this book would have been perfect. Also great for anyone with advanced medical training. Simple advice, well, good luck finding any. Great at making me feel completely irresponsible about how I've been taking care of myself. Thanks for the guilt trip, mom.

Menopause without Medicine did a good job of going over things without medicine involved but it played a lot with medical tone and ideology. Lots about losing weight, and lots about heart disease and bone density.

I personally just didn't think it hit the mark for me, but I learned a lot!

Women have been going through menopause without the use of modern medicine for a long time now, so, for me it's refreshing to hear someone say so. She lost me, though, in her pages and pages of vitamins and supplements.
