Abused and expelled from her pack for being fat, Cassie has to find a new alpha, one that is willing to take her with her flaws. She has heard of Abel, an alpha with a bad temper, who was expelled from his original pack and created his own in some mysterious way. She can only hope he will accept her.
Every person Abel takes into his pack has some flaw that has been rejected by others, but he doesn’t see flaws, just beauty. When he first sees Cassie, he knows he wants her. He senses the darkness and the strength inside her, and he has no choice but to use every single means possible to make her crack, so that she can use the strength that now terrifies her. Only by pushing her is he able to get under her skin and unleash the power that Cassie holds.
But Abel’s needs come flooding him. He’s the alpha, meant to be strong. No woman has ever been able to handle him. Has he found that woman in Cassie? Can she handle his brand of control? His need to protect?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
This author is hit or miss with me and this was a miss. Got to this part, from heroines POV: “She wasn’t a virgin or anything. She’d gotten rid of her V-card when she was eighteen and had screwed her prom date.”
Annnndddd back it goes. A romance where the h has spread her legs for another man to crawl between and break her in, grunting and heaving and sliming all over her, isn’t a romance I want to read. I’m out✌🏽
"Bullied by the Alpha" is the story of Cassie and Abel.
The h is a curvy wolf, who is expelled from her pack for being "fat". Instead of going feral, she decides to join another pack, led by the alpha hero. He tests her limits, accepts her as she is, soon initiates coitus between them, claiming her as his and defeats her evil ex pack members.
I was happy hearing about this book, because its series I enjoy to read. I love when h has some special ability. But I hate it and mostly I'm tired of, when h herself is scared of it, sees this as making her a freak or something, or blaming herself, when someone gets hurt, when that is so not her fault. I just wish h if not enjoys her ability, then at least is accepting of it as part of herself. Sadly, Cassie isn't one of the last ones. At least not at the beginning. Cassie isn't my type of h, even though I liked how she acted at the end. I like to read about bullying, but I love when h don't just takes it and for sure don't let any bullsh¡t to get in her head. I hate when h just takes it and takes it for years. That's why I loved that at least Cassies wolf has a mind of it's own and did what human part didn't. Also, I wish after what she been through with her old pack, she made a pact with herself. She wouldn't look for love and acceptance from others, but firstly she will love herself. And if others have problems with her, then f*** them. They don't deserve her to begin with. But starting with the new packt she worried about others. On one way I could understand it, being wolf and wanting acceptance but still... The way she acted/thought sometimes... I just wanted to slap some sense into her. I didn't talked any about Abel. But there isn't much to say. If you ignore his 'bullying' of Cassie at the beginning, he was good h. I loved him as an alpha and as a man.

great premise, not-so-great-execution. It wasn't terrible or anything. It was just really really boring. He didn't bully her, for one thing. Neither of them had that impression. The reader immediately knows that he likes her and that she has this special strength ability. There was no building, or interest. It was just a really basic, standard wolf story. You could honestly have swapped the title with a 100 others on kindle and not notice the difference. The key in bully stories is not understanding the MMC's actions/motivations for the first part of the story. I dnf'ed at 75% because I had been slogging through and just thought "why?". When it starts to feel like a chore to read is when I'm out. (Also at one point she refers to herself as fat, and it makes him mad because it's so insulting. Rule of thumb: if you're going to write a plus-sized fmc, fat-phobic is not the best way to go)
First off i really hate it when they call heroines “fat” (she’s size 18) and then they use a particularly smaller model for the cover. I also don’t like the term “fat”. And I don’t like it when they use a woman’s size as a big issue in anything.
There were some things I didn’t agree with when it came to this book. However as sams books go this was was way better than others I’ve read and I only can across a few grammar, spewing, and added words. Which is normally an extremely high number. All in all I enjoyed it.
Cassie has been cast out of her pack. Knowing she will go feral if she doesn't find a new pack, she seeks out Abel's pack. Abel had left his own pack years ago and is the Alpha of a group of wolves looking for acceptance. When he sees Cassie he feels a spark, but Cassie is withdrawn fearing her own strength. Abel plans to make Cassie his mate, she doesn't know it but he is going to get to see the powerful woman he knows she is.
This one was great. I liked the pace of it and was rooting for this couple. Another wonderful read by Sam Crescent.
Cassie and Abel's story was an interesting story, nothing special for me but not bad either. If you would like to read some steamy, shifter, all alpha romance to pass your time, it will be a perfect fit.
To say I was pleased to receive this as an ARC would be a gross understatement, I have everything this lady has written both in E-book form and paperback. So yes a little biased but then Sam crescent could write the phone book or the menu and I would read it. She is the queen of my one click on Amazon. This is brilliant with a strong message attached. We are all different in shape sizes colors religion and also those with disabilities, yet underneath we are all the same we just want acceptance and love. To be who we are without judgement or ridicule. Sam has a way of writing plus size ladies with such passion and feelings that I as a plus size can identify with them and that's the point when I pick up a book I want to connect if you fail to do that then I read like a robot. This story centers on Cassie and Abel, One Alpha who couldn't submit to another alpha so sets up his own pack of misfits, don't belongs and forgotten and hurt pack animals. Enter Cassie who has been abused most of her life and made to feel disgusting and dirty because of her size. Alpha recognises his mate. Yet Cassie has no self confidence after 20+ years of been told your not good enough, It does take some acceptance to believe others like you and even love you for the very thing you have been ashamed off . This is a brilliant read, read straight through this afternoon. Highly recommended 4 star read, I would have given it the full 5 except for one little niggle the ending and epilogue I wanted more, it just seemed so fast in particular knowing about Jessie and Carl, I think their story would have been an excellent follow up or a little novella. other than that top notch read. Once again Sam you have delivered .
This was fairly standard Sam Crescent. Cheesy but entertaining. The alpha didn’t really bully her. He insults her cooking to provoke her when he (and everyone else) knew her cooking was amazing. Something about not bottling up her anger and learning to leash her unusual power. The “bullying” was very mild, very brief and fairly inconsequential.
I appreciate the low angst here but it was weird that she sets up this huge potential OW drama and then it literally goes nowhere. The h and OW are BFFs. I’m not a huge fan of OW drama so it was kinda nice but weird.
Abel gave mixed messages at first too which was annoying. She gives him a bj in his dungeon and he’s all, “just be cool” to the rest of the pack and then immediately moves her into his room after telling her to play it cool lol. I was glad he decided to stake his claim but confused about why he suddenly did a 180
Story 3/5, Heat 2.25/5 Angst 1/5
Medium burn, they start fooling around at 45% and the have sex just shy of 60%.
No virgin (she only had sex one other time though), no manwhore, D/s vibe but he insists he’s not a dom, tiny but if spanking and light bondage, slight push away from h, insignificant OW drama, no OM drama, no separation. No cheating, no cliffhanger and HEA.
Safety - OW comes into H multiple times but he shuts her down hard.
This is my first review. I don't mean any offense to anyone and I'll be honest with my review.
I love werewolves books and I was looking for some inspiration to create my own fantasy werewolf book. From the many books I have read, this had my attention.
Firstly. the book cover and the blurb were intriguing. When I read the book description, I imagined the hero to be some dark, hardcore man from outside and a softy from inside. And the heroine to be a brave woman who has faced obstacles throughout her life and has come to a point where she could face them. And the point was met.
But...
The story could use more... "elements." Like the characterization of the protagonists, setting, etc.
For example, often in the story, the 'fat' trait was mentioned about the heroine. Keyword often. She could have been portrayed how much of a vivacious woman Cassie was and how she loved herself despite her flaws. Instead of just taking the brunt from her fellow pack members and blaming herself. The ending felt like a rush and nothing exciting.
All in all, it's a good book. A one-time read I can say.
I love Sam Crescent books and she's one of my favourite authors. Her books inspire me and have a wild imagination of my own. I can say this book is one of those.
I haven't read a shifter romance in a while, but this one I really enjoyed
Abel was a bit of a douche. But you can understand why. He is running a pack of that has been cast aside by their old packs because they are different. Everyone has something that doesn't fit into a 'perfect' pack, and that is what Abel does, he's the one that takes them all in. But he also makes sure that they are strong and trains them to be able to take care of themselves and their pack. Which is exactly what he is doing with their latest intake. Cassie has been thrown out because she is not thin and beautiful according to her pack. So Abel is making sure that she knows how strong she is and also how beautiful she is. As up till now no one has been able to keep his attention, but now he thinks he has found his mate.
This story was a good read for me, it kept my attention and made me want to finish the book in one go just to see how this would all end. Definitely adding to my favourite collection for shifter series.
Abel’s pack is pretty much a band of misfits. They are flawed in one way or another. But he doesn’t care. He is a strong Alpha and they look to him to push them and make them better, stronger. When Cassie is cast out of her own pack for being fat and ugly, she can only hope that Abel’s pack will take her in. There is more to Cassie than what her pack as been telling her. She herself has the strength of an Alpha and THAT is what her old pack fears. I love that she is stronger than anyone ever thought. She has to train and learn to control it. Abel is a no nonsense Alpha but he does push her. I can’t say that I liked how he did it. There could have been other ways to get her to defend herself and bring out the true her. I never liked people teasing or being a bully. I wouldn’t say that Abel was a bully either. He was determined and was not only fighting for his pack but for Cassie. I love that his pack wasn’t jaded. Jessica was understand and that was great. The passion that Abel has for Cassie is hot and boy are the scenes fun.
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was left wanting more. After being abused and thrown out of her pack, Cassie finds a new one. When Cassie meets the alpha of her new pack, she is instantly attracted to him but she doesn’t make a move. Abel knows that Cassie’s strength matches his own. Although he tries to resist Cassie he can’t. Although Cassie is insecure about her curves and her weight, Abel finds Cassie’s curves attractive. The chemistry between Cassie and Abel is clear to see and the passion between them is through the roof. I really liked that Cassie protected/saved her mate and also stood up to her old pack for the way they treated her. I was cheering her on when she was fighting David. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more from this series. I hope that we get Jessica and Carl’s story.

Sam Crescent’s latest story in the Alpha Shifter series is a great story with an even greater message. People who are different should not be discriminated against, we need to be accepting and show some common decency. Cassie was rejected by her pack because of her weight and because of her strength. She goes to Abel’s pack, whom he created with ‘discards’ from other packs and he’s made his pack members see their strengths.
There’s a definite attraction between Abel and Cassie, but Cassie doesn’t think she is someone that can be loved. Abel has to use whatever methods he can to get her to see her inner and outer strengths. I felt like that was harsh for him to do but at the same time, it was what she needed to break out of her shell.
I hope you all get a chance to read this amazing story!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book
Cassie has been bullied picked on and abused by her back since as long as she can remember.. at age 18 she has turned into a wolf and joining her pack.. hut the abuse never ends.. so they kicked her out because she is to fat. She leaves about a week in the wild she hears of a pack that takes in rouge wolfs... so she goes she meets the grump hard ass alpha Abel who already has a attraction to her.. but doesn't do anything.
Abel can feel a powerful force in Cassie but shes to scared to let out her wolf side.. to scared she might hurt someone.. Abel pushes her to break free.. and he is going to protect her from her old pack.. she is his mate his woman!!

This author has a flair for the bully troupe and I absolutely love this rendition of it. The alpha had a purpose that was all his own, but the result was a HEA I’m glad I didn’t miss. They weren’t lying when they said it’s always the quiet ones and the author proved it with this phenomenal alpha mate. She was sweet and soft, and absolutely breathtaking when her family is threatened. This book is full of fantastic characters and personalities. Once I got started I just couldn’t stop. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series.
This book was so sweet, Cassie was kicked out of her pack for being fat, or at least that what she thought, however it was because she was so strong. When she joined Abel's pack he knew she was his mate and wanted her. When her old pack decides they want her back can Abel protect her? You will have to read it to find out.
I enjoyed the story line, not as common as others I have come across. Cassie is very unique in her old pack and was abused for her life. Finding the band of misfit wolves pushes our story along and has her new pack accepting all her Oddities. Reminds me of "trash or treasure", depends on the beholder.
This was an okay shifter romance. Abel and Cassie were a cute couple. Abel is alpha of all the shifters rejected from their packs for ridiculous reasons and Cassie finds herself with his pack. There was nothing wrong with the writing it just didn’t interest me much.
Miss Sam Crescent your shifter series Is one of my favorites, and you did an amazing job with this book. I can't wait for the next one to come out, I'm giving it 5 stars
A place where everyone can fit in. This was remarkable how the ones who "didn't fit" actually made a na!r and place for themselves. I loved how flaws were made into remarkable features. Loved how they all came together in the end.
A great read. The storyline was interesting and entertaining, and I loved the characters. Abel and Cassie were perfect for each other, and they had great chemistry. The story is fast paced but easy to follow. Overall a really enjoyable shifter read.
I loved Abel and the supporting characters. Cassie was a sweet girl, but I just wish that she hadn't tried to push him toward the other women in his pack. And I wished that she showed that strength just a little bit more, but all in all it was a real good read.
Addicted to this series by Sam Crescent. Who doesn't love a good spicy shifter romance with character struggles and epic chemistry, changing feelings, super hot steamy scenes and drama? Like anything, you just have to collect them all!
