Even though I appreciate having example sentences for every word, they often lacked real-world complexity and idiomatic situational usage, resorting instead to the obvious.
Some of the topics and categories are also too narrow. Onomatopoeia is best learned with the verbs and situations with which people use them most often.
Not bad, but there are better vocabulary lists out there.
Pew! JLPT N1 vocab is the worst! It’s packed with formal, specialized words that I’ll probably never have the occasion to use. While the book covers the essentials and provides helpful example sentences, it falls short in offering deeper explanations of word nuances. It’s best used alongside other resources to truly grasp the subtleties of word usage in different contexts.
