One half of an intergalactic assassin team, Jadzion heads to New Mexico for his target while his brother, Heriot, heads to California. They've traveled millions of miles and through star systems to find their targets, who are gun-runners on a galactic scale.
Now, though, Jadzion has a problem. He's waited until the last minute to go planetside, and his target's at a couples retreat.
Jadzion is solo.
The solution is obvious - Jadzion needs a wife. Just for the weekend, of course.
Using a thing called a 'dating app' he finds a woman named Jenna. He tells her he needs to marry her, right away. Jenna, naturally, is confused. But the longer she's around Jadzion, the more she thinks he's not from around here . . . and that he just might be the one for her. * * *
* * Be sure to read Jadzion's brother's story in, "The Alien Assassin's Stolen Wife" by bestselling author, Ruby Dixon. It tells the story of how Heriot comes across his true mate, Hannah, in an unusual way. Both books are part of the multi author, science fiction romance series,In The Stars featuring many of your favourite bestselling authors. ENJOY!
Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.
Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙❤️💜💚 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍 Character development: 😊😘😟🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Jenna - she can’t find a man. She had been signed up for an online dating site, but every man she meets turns out to be a freak or only out for a hook-up. So, she changed her profile to say that she wants to get married, hoping that would filter out the crazies. She then just stopped checking for any replies, since she just liked to Netflix and chill alone.
The Hero:Jadzion - he is an alien assassin. He works with his brother Harriet. They are on Earth (a primitive planet) and has a contract to kill a man who is purchases and trades ELW’s (extinction level weapons). His brother is on the trail for one such device that was already sold. Jadzion needs to find his target in Albuquerque New Mexico. Though the man he is after is hidden as a human and is at some place where he is leading a retreat for married people. So, to get in and see the guy, Jadzion needs a wife to sign up for the relationship retreat.
The Story: Jenna’s roommate decided Jenna needed to get out and jump back on the horse, so she had been watching Jenna’s profile for replies and made a date for Jenna with some guy. It turns out the guy is Jadzion and she immediately knew something was not right when he passes out after the date. Jenna finds out that Jadzion is an alien and that he passed out because he is in a rutting fever from being so close to a female and the antidote made him sick. After he wakes up, he tells her the truth, and she agrees to help him find the man he is after.
The story is interesting for such a short story (the audiobook is only 3 hours and 11 minutes long). It was way different than any other of Ruby Dixon’s alien romance books I have read before. This is actually the first one that takes place on Earth. Also, the alien isn’t a barbarian, but is an assassin with some pretty cool tech.
This audiobook was done in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Tim Paige and Tieran Wilder. Tim Paige has a nice voice though it is a bit softer than I like for a male narrator. Tieran Wilder has a pleasant-sounding voice and is good at showing emotion through her voice.
when he’s so attracted to u it makes him physically sick!! when he literally can’t look at u bc he’ll fall into a feverish state of delirious lust. when the alien MMC wants u THAT BAD. 💦🥰‼️ (this was my fav part if u can’t tell)!
After an eventful blind date, the H & h embark on a mission to track down an alien who could destroy earth.
This was a cute, short, & easy read. I did get midly bored at some parts & the end chapter spice was meh. I liked the beginning more but this is < 200 pgs so im giving some grace.
This was a middle-range Ruby Dixon read for me; not my fav but not the worst either.
TROPES & SUCH H alien h human insta-lust “true mate” blind date short story virgin H no cheating, opd Hea No epilogue
Quick(ish) Review It was alright. There’s a sweetly protective alien, a curvy heroine, light on plot, high on feels. Not the best, but not the worst. I still enjoyed it.
He's alien for the first third and then he's just besotted. It started out so quirky that I was really stoked... but then it became the usual formulaic predictably trite mess. Too bad. There will likely be a follow up with the brother but I couldn't care less.
Warning: Much like the book I am keeping this review short and sweet!
Ruby Dixon is an auto-buy author for me, I don’t even look at the blurb anymore. I just pick it up and start reading. I know I’ll either get sexy aliens or sexy dragons, what’s not to love? With The Alien Assassin’s Convenient Wife not surprisingly we get a sexy alien, a sexy alien assassin. A sexy alien assassin who needs a wife so he can get to his evil target. I feel like the blurb for this one is entirely contained within the title of the book.
I really enjoyed this book/novella, it's a mixture of extremely cheesy romance and extremely cheesy action, all combined it made a quick but fun read. Perfect for when you want something light hearted and easy to read. This is also part of a unofficial duology with Michele Mills and her book The Alien Assassin’s Stolen Bride. The alien heroes in the two books are brothers, both having a separate but related mission on Earth. So, if you like this book, make sure you pick up Mills’ for more alien fun.

All things Ruby Dixon. Her books for me are pretty much book crack, they are an addiction for me. She is one of my one-click authors, if she wrote about trash bags...yup, I would totally read it. Absolutely adored this book, Jadzion is an alien assassin that comes to earth for his target. He needs a “wife” to get to his target. And that’s when he finds his truemate, Jenna. Obviously at first she thinks he’s a bit bat shit crazy, but quickly finds out he’s a bit more.
Absolutely floved this safe read. As always I love her humor and this book had me laughing my ass off. The couple “party” scene was priceless. No om or ow drama, which I always appreciate. One adorable-virgin-alien-assassin-alpha with his funny af truemate. I think it’s pretty damn clear that I am calling dibs, double dibs and mine on Jadzion...because you all already know how damn selfish I am...just sayin, guilty as charged. No epilogue and hfn.
I needed a quick, fun novella to listen to on a drive and I knew Ruby Dixon would deliver. This is part of a multi-author interconnected, but standalone sci-fi series and this was definitely that. I did miss some of the world building that Ruby usually brings, but for a novella it was fine.
Jadzion is part of an intergalactic assassin team sent to the U.S. with his brother from space. His target is on Earth and at a couples retreat, so Jadzion needs himself a wife quickly….if only for the weekend! He downloads a dating app to do as the locals (aka humans) do and meets Jenna. Who conveniently ends up being his mate too. We get some funny moments, they end up accidentally at a swingers party, and other hijinks ensue. This was okay for what it was! Audio is on hoopla!
The MMC is an intergalactic assassin who needs a wife for an undercover assignment, so obviously he finds the FMC on a dating app. He’s such a goof for an alien assassin, and she’s great at rolling with it. I love how Ruby Dixon’s novellas always manage to walk the fine line between silly and charming. Lots of vibes, minimal plot, highly entertaining.
"Please. No one wants to invade Earth. Your planet is far too dirty."
This certainly felt like it had been written very, very quickly and that's a shame, because the concepts were fun but the romance was rushed and the conclusion was . . . illogical.
This was adorable and mostly hot. I'd have given it five stars but it was... weird. As soon as the story was going at a great pace and had killer momentum it like... Died lol.
Maybe it was just me. It's short, read it yourself and see if you agree or tell me I'm crazy.
This was a cute funny romance in normal Ruby Dixon fashion! It was short and simple and did not take itself too seriously.
My only issue was the world-building and the alien species information. This felt different compared to the other alien books that she has written I think because she doesn't have a bunch of books in the series to develop the world. Maybe the other book by Michelle Mills expands more on that though :)
As always Ruby didn't disappoint. This was a quick almost Insta love romance. The characters were fun and I'm looking forward to reading about the brother next.
I love Ruby Dixon's aliens-- and I love that this story took place on earth! That was a fun change in pace. All the humor and heat is still present, but this time, it's the guy who's unsure about his surroundings. FUN. I really enjoyed this.
