Big Top means Big Trouble when Brian learns that the Carnivale has set up shop right outside of Penzance. A mysterious organisation of vampires and other nocturnal ne'er do wells who, once a decade, travel for a year, donning clown clothes and riding unicycles, all in the name of entertainment, the Carnivale is usually a hallowed place, a neutral ground, where Helsings don't hunt on the proviso that said vampires don't hunt either.
But the fragile peace is shattered, when Brian learns that one of the mysterious Artefacts needed to stop Cthulu's awakening lies in the possession of the Ringmaster himself.
And so, our brave - if reluctant -adventurer runs off to join the circus, donning his greasepaint in a bid to sneak into this nest of evil and steal the Artefact from right under Ravioli's nose.
Join Brian as he faces challenges he's never faced before:
Bigger, badder, pointier-eared vampires!
Tougher morale decisions!
Ghost-infested bathrooms!
Jeff Bridges!
A bat that can't fly! And no, it's not a mouse.
All of these, and more, Brian faces, as he stumbles through another awkward adventure in Mission #7: Cirque du Vampire.

Gaz Pengelly lives in rural UK with his girlfriend, a hamster and a part time labrador.
When not writing, he can be found careening around on his motorcycle or sitting in the garden with a pipe and a nice pint of real ale, depending on his mood.

I don't get a lot of reading time any more, and even when I do I tend to fall asleep after a couple of pages, but these books are action packed enough to keep me awake while also providing enough humour to keep me smiling. I really like seeing the gradual progression of Brian's confidence and powers, he doesn't just have magic and bang he wins, instead each ability is earned slowly and through trials and error. I'd like to see more of Neil and of Brian interacting with normals like he did at the start (I loved the airport scene where he got stopped at customs) but I also really enjoy the plethora of paranormal creatures and imagination of the author. I hope this series goes on and on and on.... Evenstar
As the foreword forearmed, a longer story, but it showed a lot of growth for Brian, and some of his soliliquies about good and evil, some of XII's backstory, the inclusion but not of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and some of the other Helsings, just lead me to say Thank You.
This is the best book yet and that's saying something! This book is incredibly well written and as always your heart goes out to Brian. I feel his triumphs and his pain. I love the whit too. Brian has to go against some real big bars and also a bit of an existential crisis.
I could not put this book down. Once again Brian shows understanding and respect to other creatures. We learn the back story of XII as well as the history and different levels of vampires. Brian is really working through his conflicting emotions in this book. Awesome final battle. Very unique! One of the4 serious books yet still with moments of fun. Love the cell phone call scene!
Well, I always did find clowns to be scary ever since Pennywise ruined clowns for everyone. This was an excellent book! Brian's experience and knowledge takes a huge leap. Some things he learns are hard lessons most people would not be able to handle. But Brian, the reluctant hero, he hangs in there, even when surrounded by bloodthirsty vampires.
In this 7th book of the Brian Helsing series, Brian must infiltrate a circus of vampires. He finds out that there are different types of vampires: Pure Bloods and the others. Pure Bloods were sired by Drakul himself in a direct bloodline, the others are of a weaker bloodline. A good continuation of this series.
Another great read as Brian takes on a circus of vampires. The character growth is great and his interplay with the members of the Order is becoming relaxed and natural. Great Fun and I can’t wait for the next one!
I have just now finished this, the 7th tale of Brian. Another quick journey into escapism. I found it to be entertaining and well written. I am truly enjoying this series.
I look forward to the next book in the series. I return frequently to Brian's strange life as I am familiar with the Cornish references, it feels more like I am part of the strange Helsing family.
Keep them coming. Another fun yet thought provoking romp. Loved the part where the hero's geekdom saves the day. Anyone who loved Remo and Chin would love these books.
