In general, the comparison to "The Animatrix" is appropriate. It is a good tribute to Trigun, the styles are all different and the stories interesting which makes it a nice read.
Just as a public service announcement without spoilers Re: Les Enfants:
I cried. I wish someone warned me about it beforehand, because I cried a lot.
I am not going to say anymore than that.

Content Warnings: Lots of fanservice-style shots and nudity in "The Lost Plants"; nudity in the context of torture/rape aftermath, rape threat/discussed rape, and fridging in "Raijin Rising"; use of an ouija board/dowsing rods and brief ghost possession in the Meryl and Milly slice of life standalone that I forgot the name of.

Entertaining short stories. Mixed bag with the art. There were two cute short stories and a lot of 'extras' which had artists and writers sending messages about the film.

Fair warning: One story in particular was VERY graphic... Nudity, gore, mutilation (shown). Highly inferred rape and underage homosexual rape... It was a bit much for me honestly. Not sure how that made it in because Trigun had never been that graphic. The story before that was bittersweet and the one after was cute, but it killed the momentum of the book for me. There was a better way to do it without the shock factor...

Regardless, if you like Trigun I would recommend it, but skip the Raijin story near the end.

this was a lot of fun. It feels like a print version of the animatrix-style anthologies.

There's some great art, the meryl and milly 4-koma gag chapter is a lot of fun. another fine addition are button sized fan-art from dozens of different manga-ka. plus I'm just a sucker for more trigun.

Couldn't bring myself to finish. I realize this was a collaboration but some of the art was just unbearable, and the first story, I had no idea what was going on it was so choppy and all over the place. So, this was a DNF and will stay that way.

A good read for any Trigun fan. The different authors bring a wide variety of styles. Some of the stories give you a new look at the world of trigun or the backgrounds of different characters. It even helped make clear some story points for me.

Some of the art doesn't seem consistent, but this was a great bunch of short stories. I appreciate being able to read Badlands Rumble (I've seen the movie) and I liked it more than the movie honestly.

My only complaint (but common for Trigun) is most of the art is very simple, but there's some good details in some of the later stories.
