He was reckless, hotheaded, and bad.

A tattooed god was once my best friend. My first love. My reason for existence.

But his vanishing act created a hole inside my heart.

Today, he’s the famous son of one of the wealthiest men on the continent.

I never thought I’d see him again… and much less in Las Vegas.

Dominic Cruz, whom I’ve spent the last fifteen years fantasizing about, now stands before me.

And I barely recognize him.

He says he won’t let me go. That he can’t let me go. Not this time.

Even if it means letting me drown with him into the depths of his secret.

No cheating and a guaranteed HEA!

A fast paced read that will have you cheering for Dominic and Isabella. I received this book as a gift and am leaving a voluntary review. Isabella flies to Vegas with her friend Natasha, who is getting married. The groom’s brother, Dominic, is Bella’s once best friend who deserted her with no explanation. Old feelings arise when they meet again. What will occur between the two? Problems arise for Natasha and Derrick? Secrets come out that might cost Dominic his family and business…discover what happens in Vegas…and will it stay there?

I really wanted to read this book after reading the blurb for it. It sounded like a really promising story. Who doesn’t like a good story with a hot, tattooed guy who’s sweeping the woman of his dreams off her feet in Vegas?

By the end of it, I have to admit that I felt a little confused, and possibly bipolar. The idea of the story is very good. It follows Isabella as she joins her friend, Natasha, on a trip to Vegas where Natasha is supposed to get married. As it turns out, Natasha is marrying Derrick who is the brother of Dominic, who, in turn, used to be best friends with Isabella when they were kids. At some point, when they were in year 7, I think that’s how it’s worded (so 7th grade?), the boys move away. Dominic and Isabella keep in touch over the phone. There never had been anything romantic between them, just best friends of sorts. That is until one day, about 5 or 6 later, when Dominic just cuts off all communication. She is heartbroken, but life goes on. So now it’s ten years after that, Isabella and Dominic come face to face for this wedding. And that’s when things started getting weird for me. The characters themselves didn’t have any depth to them and the story was just all over the place. I think the entire story took place over one day and one night. Lots of things happened during this time. Natasha and Derrick had a big fight, I have no idea why. She ended up in the hospital with alcohol poising- felt like it came out of the blue. Dominic and Isabella went out to dinner where they had sex and he told her that he loved her. By the end of that night he also wanted to marry her. But, by that point, she hated him after he confessed why he had cut off all communication when they were kids. And it didn’t make sense. All in all, I was happy to get to the end. Also, fair warning, this is not a full length novel. It is a short story, shorter than even a novella.

Vegas Bound didn't tickle my fancy. There were sweet moments between Dom and Bella that would make my heart sigh from happiness, but not enough of them for my liking. The storyline had a lot of promise. Girl is in love with her best friend. Best friend up and cuts girl out of his life with no explanation. Girl comes face to face with best friend years later and confronts him. Those three things pulled me in like a mouse to cheese, but the cheese left me unsatisfied.

The pacing of the story was way too fast for my liking. It often left me confused how quickly the story would jump from one place in time to another in the next paragraph. I had to do a few double takes just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. There were plenty of pivotal moments that would fade to black and then when we picked back up the quick demeanor change was jarring. One minute Dom and Bella blissfully laying next to each other after some delicious sexy times and then the next minute they are fighting because of something he confesses to her between scenes (something that isn't fully revealed until a few chapters later).

Characters would often have important moments off screen and as the reader I felt like missing those moments didn't allow me to really get attached to the characters. I wanted to experience the story with them, not be told what happened after the fact. The fast pace and missing details ended up making the characters feel a little one dimensional and unrealistic. I needed to feel Bella's heartbreak as she tore into Dom for disappearing. I needed to feel Dom's guilt eating him alive as he confessed his secrets to her. I needed more details. There were so many times I missed out on moments that would not only bring me closer to the characters but give them another dimension to really bring them to life.

The fast pace of the story led to less detail and moments that I desperately needed more of to be able to cling to our lovers. Though I wasn't a fan of the pacing, it doesn't mean that someone else won't love it. At the end of the day this story wasn't for me, but it could still be something to you.

One thing I hate doing more than almost anything else is having to give a book a low rating. So bear with me here and let me break it down for why Vegas Bound just didn’t do it for me and also what I did like. This is definitely a fast read, but even for a fast read the pace was set at breakneck speeds right from the start. Everything was moving so quickly it almost felt like it was more a race to the finish line than a book.
I felt like I never actually got to know or form any kind of connection to any single character at all because of how fast things were moving. It also left me feeling confused as if I had missed something more than once because the fast pace at which this book moves resulted in very little detail. One moment these two would be getting things hot and steamy and the next they’d be arguing or leaving. It was almost like I’d blink and miss something. That same speed though resulted in the actions of nearly every character seeming either far fetched or immature for the ages *I think* they are.
What I did like though were the glimpses of sweet that I did see. Always one for sweet and second chances those peeks I got at what Bella and Dom could be kept me holding on to hope.
Overall, this book has serious potential to be amazing with a slower pace, more detail, and less jumpiness.

Vegas Bound - a review by Rosemary Kenny

With no cheating and a guaranteed HEA, Summer Brooks tells of a second chance romance between former high school sweethearts Dominic Cruz and Isabella. Their backgrounds could not be much more different, as he's from a mega-wealthy family, while hers are decent hometown folks who've brought her up to be her very best self. The pair are separated when the Cruz's move away for good due to business expansion overseas, leaving poor Isabella to cry alone in her pillow.

What happens fifteen years later? Why is Isabella in Vegas? Who is Derrick? How does Isabella know Derrick's brother? When do Dominic and Isabella meet again? Where will Isabella next see Dominic?
Will Isabella give Dominic a second chance when she learns a Cruz family secret? What's their HEA?

Vegas Bound is sure to be a hit and you should buy this and all Summer Brooks' 5-star romances as soon as possible, to guarantee your 'Summer of reading pleasure'!

This was my first Summer Brooks book and it certainly won't be the last. I, thoroughly, enjoyed the characters and their interaction with each other. Dom & Bella were best friends in school and after his father made it big in business, they moved away. Ten years later, they once again meet at her best friend's wedding to his brother. The instant connection reappears, past feelings reoccur, but before the wedding of her friend happens, family issues come forth. The end results pushes them closer. This was a beautiful story of second chances! Well worth reading!

Dom and Bella were best friends back in school until his dad hit it big and was in the limelight and they moved away. Now ten years later Bella is on her way to Vegas for her coworker and best friend Natasha’s wedding to Derrick, Dom’s younger brother. As things from there past unfold and come to light, Dom and Bella not only become closer than before but help each other out, but will it be enough in the end??

I love how this story was written in collaboration with Summer’s readers. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to see what Summer has in store for us next!!

While Isabella’s elementary students worked on their math problem, her co-worker and friend Natasha called her out of the room to “gush” over the Vegas trip they would soon be making. Natasha and Derrick were going to be married, although the high profile attention, due to the billionaire fiancé she had snagged, was sort of wearing Natasha down a bit now. She was hoping after they were married, the attention might die down a little. Isabella was not as comfortable about the trip as she tried to pretend because Dominic, Derrick’s older brother and a former crush of hers, would also be there. They had been inseparable best friends and had grown up together. They even went to school together until Dom’s father made a fortune and transferred him to a private school in The Hamptons. After a year, they lost contact.

Once in Las Vegas, Natasha squealed when she spotted Derrick’s arrival, knocking Isabella’s coconut water all over her blouse. By the time she looked up, Dom was standing there and all her uncomfortable memories were coming back. She barely recognized the handsome man, but she knew those deep blue eyes immediately.

When Isabella went to her room to change, there was a knock. Dom walked in, holding onto her wrist but never smiling. She asked where he had gone when he disappeared from her life without a word. She had never told him that she had feelings for him and was more than just a friend. Now he pulled her toward him while she tried to push away. She told him she hated him, and they kissed each other passionately. She tried to make him leave, but this time he refused. And they talked about their memories of the past growing up. And as they finally started to do what they’d both wished for years ago, Bella’s phone rang and she dressed and ran out of the room to a sobbing Natasha!

Was the wedding off? Where did this leave Bella and Dom? And would Bella get the answer to her question of what happened way back then to make Dom disappear from her life? Is it too late now for second chances?

I did enjoy this book. It was done well and the story line was paced perfectly with lots of things happening. The reaction of the characters to each other was likewise handled well, as the reader could feel the conflicting emotions tearing through Dom and Bella as they tried to deal with seeing each other again, with so much unresolved between them. Natasha was the perfect PITA, driving everyone crazy. All in all, a very enjoyable book! Grab your copy and find out if Bella can get Natasha calmed down and if her feelings for Dom are deep enough to give him a second chance – even when she finds out the truth!

Ms. Summer Brooks is an Author that only publishes top quality books for all of us romance reader's. Seriously, I have been a reader and fan of her work for quite some time and what impresses me the most about her is her ability to take you right into the storyline as if you are there and she crafts such realistic characters time and again. I have no idea how her mind can create such captivating books; but I am grateful none the less. Vegas Bound is a second chance love story that is completely compelling and you are sure to love it. If you've never had the pleasure to read her work, why not start here? I encourage all romance junkies, like myself, to absorb every superbly crafted word of Vegas Bound, Ms. Brooks' latest release, is a fast paced, beautifully written romance. Follow along as Dominic and Isabella fight hard to rekindle what once was and get their happily ever after. No journey is easy but when you are meant to be, there will always be a way. Dominic and Isabella have no choice but to acknowledge one another while they are in Vegas for a wedding but is it a second chance when they've loved only each other all along?

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Vegas Bound in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend this book as well as anything written by Ms. Brooks... Every and anytime. She NEVER disappoints.

If I were rating this story in the original venue in which it was first distributed, as an email serial, one chapter per day, I would give it 4 1/2 stars. When looked at on a chapter by chapter basis and understanding the limits of a daily serial it is a great story, but as a book I can't give it 4 1/2 stars. In a book I would have expected more character building and more world building. In this state we hardly get to know Isabella and Dominic. We are expected to suspend belief and understand that after 10 years of not seeing each other they are in instant love and ready to get married two days after reuniting. Funny thing is I could have bought into this if we had had back story in the beginning. If I could have already bounded with this couple, even just as friends, it would have been easier to buy into the relationship. Then there is the whole reason they are in Vegas, his brother Derrick is supposed to be marrying Isabella's best friend Natasha, but Derrick and Natasha don't even seem to like each other which makes a wedding seem very odd to me. All of the ensuing chaos is not very detailed, again because of the original delivery format.

So in closing I can say this, this is a cute story but is missing the world building you would expect in a full book.

Imagine losing the love of your life. Then your best friend, Natalia, falls in love with his little brother, Derrick. Imagine being ripped away from the woman you love before you get the chance to tell her. A few years later, your younger brother falls in love with her best friend and you know you will see her again. Then you walked into the Casino that Dominic and Derrick own where the wedding was to take place and you see Dominic, see your first love and the love of your life, the man who broke your heart, standing there. You both have very strong reactions to seeing each other, one good, one not so good. He is the best man and you are the maid of honour so there is no avoiding each other. Ends up that feelings have merely been simmering under the surface all these years and other forces were hard at work plotting to keep them apart. Dominic sees Isabella for the first time and knows he has to be with her and when they come together, he will never loose her again and will never let her go. Turn up the air conditioners because its about to get smokin' hot and steamy sexy around here! Definitely for 18+ readers but oh what fun we will have. Not a cliffhanger but sort of HEA, hoping that the dangling threads mean book 2 is coming soon. This was a great weekend read, good for the beach too. VERY SEXY ADULT SEX SCENES NSFW. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Vegas Bound is a rollercoaster of emotions and second chances. I really liked this quick, sweet read! Dom and Isabella were best friends growing up after some shady crap went down, Isabella never heard from Dom again. Isabella is in Vegas with her bestie getting ready for their wedding. As the maid of honor Isabella has to make sure everything goes great even though the brother of the groom is her old best friend. Shenanigans, emotions, and sexy time happen in rapid pace and make you lose yourself in the story.

Isabella is a fire cracker. She seems shy but she is a powerhouse of emotion. She feels anger and love all at the same time. Her heart and her mind pull her in two different directions. Dom knows what he wants, what he always wanted, and that's Isabella. He takes this second chance and makes sure Isabella knows his intentions. I loved them together. The back and forth between them, loving one moment and angry at each other the next, made this story more real.

Vegas Bound made me smile and swoon with Dom and his determination. It's a great fast paced second chance that leaves you swooning!

I love second chance romances but unfortunately I just couldn’t gel with this one. I thought the storyline was ok and it had the foundations to go places but it just wasn’t consistent and seemed rushed and like there was something missing plus it was confusing in places. I really liked Bella and Dom I was rooting for them from the beginning , I liked their chemistry and how they still had it after all those years apart. Once you finally got the back story as to why he stayed away you thought yeh fair do’s but it would have been better having a back story near the beginning and not the end. Her friend was annoying and too high maintenance for me and she did distract me from the storyline. She seemed to create more problems/and obstacles where there shouldn’t have been any. The rest of the characters were just put in the story as if they had been placed there as an after thought. This book has the potential to be a good book if there was more detail to the story and the choppy bits are smoothed out. I really don’t like giving out low marked reviews but i really couldn’t give any higher because of all this.

Another great read from Summer Brooks. Isabella a teacher, is the maid of honor/ bridesmaid to her best friend Natasha who's getting married in Las Vegas to Derrick Cruz a billionaire. Derrick Cruz is the younger brother to Dominic Cruz a billionaire whom Isabella was friends with and had a crush on in High School but when his father got rich and famous, Dominic "ghosted her" when he was in college. When Isabella and Natasha arrive at the hotel they meet Derrick and Dominic in the lobby. Dominic who still has feelings for Isabella is determined not to let her get away and wants to tell her why he disappear from her life and to give him a second chance. Will Isabella support and love Dominic when she finds out why he left? This was a enjoyable story about second chances that has steamy romance, plenty of personal problems to solve, and has characters that you will like and hate. I only took 1/4 star off because I felt the ending was a little short in this novella though it does end with a HEA. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

Oh man this book was full of deceitfulness (not made by Dominic and Isabella), misunderstandings, heartbreak, hope, anger and so much more. I flew through the pages and was happy that I gave this author a chance. I haven't read anything by Summer and I wasn't sure what to expect but now I can't wait to read more.

These two started in life as best friends and get separated by distance and lies. She was heartbroken and when her present throws her together with her past she knows that things are about to get complicated, never expecting for things to play out like they do. Dominic is riddled with pain, anger and confusion for things that caused him to break off his friendship with Isabella. After all these years and seeing her again he isn't about to let her go again. He will have his work cut out for him if he plans on staying in her life this time.

This was a very enjoyable book and I can't see what the next book in this series has in store for us!

Dom and Isabella have known each other since they were children. She was an introverted child with no friends and was always bullied until Dom came to her rescue. He always looked out for her until his father finally found his glass ceiling and moved out of the neighborhood. His father looked down on Isabella feeling that she was not good enough for his son. When Dom got into a drunken fight with a boy that he did not remember, his father used it as an excuse to remove him permanently from town. Isabella did not know what happened to him and hated him for leaving her. Fast forward and she is in Las Vegas for her friend's engagement to Dom's brother. Can she go through with the wedding plans and avoid Dom, or will this be the opportunity to build another relationship with the only man she has loved?

Ten years ago, Dominic stopped talking to Isabella suddenly and unexpectedly. Now they meet again at a wedding and sparks fly.

This is something of a second chance story, with two best friends coming back together after a long and unexplained (at first) absence. Can they come to trust each other again and build on the relationship they had in the past? The story has a lot going, like the wedding and the mystery of why Dominic disappeared, which present major obstacles for our couple. There are also a number of secondary characters that frequently get in the way.

But this is a true romance story. The characters a solid and well written, with realistic emotions and reactions. There is also lots of hot steamy sex and a solid HEA.

Recommended for a nice weekend read.

Summer Brooks is fast becoming a favorite author. This story about a lost childhood friend showing up at a friend's wedding 10 years later is an interesting story. Isabella did not know why she stopped hearing from Dom all of a sudden but he broke her teenaged heart. Ten years later she'll be seeing him at her best friend's wedding as he'll be the groom's brother. How should she act? The scenes between Bella and Dom were a little confusing as we were supposed to believe she was angry she hadn't heard from him in 10 years but she was ready to fall into bed with him. The writing was a little choppy at first but gets smoother later. I enjoyed the story and the mystery as to why he didn't call back will getcha....

As much as I do not like writing reviews with low star ratings, I felt I had no choice with this book. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and felt lost from the first chapter. The timeline didn't seem to work and I couldn't figure out how it started when she was 12 and it seems like they were separated near that time and then when they see each other somewhere between 10 and 15 years later there's some automatic love hate relationship that's comes to a head at her best friends upcoming wedding in Las Vegas, that turned out to be a dysfunctional relationship. The whole thing just was discombobulated and the speed was too confusing to keep my interest. Had there been more back story and details throughout then this book would have had potential to have been better than it turned out. I'm sorry to say this book turned into a dnf for me.

This author is new to me, but I love Vegas stories and bad boys, so I took a chance and read the book. If you enjoy short reads with a second chance and HEA this book is for you. Dominic and Isabella (Bella) shared a past and the two being put together for her BF wedding to his brother is just the icing on the cake. They want answers that lead to more questions, there are family issues (again) that threaten their chance at a HEA and the wedding, but they are older now and as they become closer they know they need to be there for each whether they make a go at a second time or not. The interaction and connection between these two were on fire. There were parts of the story that moved to quick, but you were able to see where the author was going and why it was cut short. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Something of nothing

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I really wanted to enjoy this book but I found it quite hard going, not the storyline but the writing style. It is written in the style of two peoples PoV, which I normally love, but I found that in this case there was just too much repetition of the same points but with a slight variation as it was from the other persons PoV. I could have forgiven most of it as I was finding the book enjoyable enough, but then the ending just had the storyline fizzle out and I was really disappointed. When it came to reviewing the book, I realised that I don't think there was actually much happening in the form of a storyline. All in all, I'm afraid it's a thumbs down from me

Honestly when I started reading this book yesterday I thought it was going to be my normal reads but I was so wrong!
Vegas bound is an adorable story that puts a type of love out there you don't really expect but when you read Dom and Bella's story you realize that it has been a soulmate feeling that only continued to grow and become stronger than before.
His determination to show her that he means every word and his feeling are the real thing.
I'm not a fan of the brother or father but sadly with out those to the story would not be worth it.
You always know there is going to be a happy ever after but theirs was a fight that was amazing especially when it came to screwing over his family.

This is one book you are bound to love.

Isabella, a grade school teacher, is headed to Vegas for her best friend's wedding and runs into Dominic, brother to the groom and friend from another life. As their story progresses the reader gets sucked into the drama of their past, the roller coaster of their present, and the fogginess of their future. Summer Brooks has crafted her tale with care; including a hefty dose of mystery surrounding events from the past, a sprinkling of obstacles to overcome and a clearly defined cast. I recommend this for 18+ readers that like some redemption with their romance.

i read this book as part of an arc program. I really liked this second chance romance between Dom and Bella. Bella's best friend was getting married in Las Vegas to Dom's brother. Dom and Bella went to school together and were best friends until Dom's father got rich and moved the family away. Dom and Bella continued to talk until Dom disappeared and she never knew why. When they meet again, Dom knows he can never let Bella go again. Bella wants to know what happened and Dom knows he has to tell her the truth and he hopes she can forgive him. I liked this story, it had a but of a mystery as to why Dom stopped talking to Bella. I like they both still loved each other and wanted to be together. I like that Dom realized what was important and how he fixed things for the past. Good one.

This was a roller-coaster ride into a happy ending. And the way was paved with sizzling sex.

It just so happens that Bella's fellow school teacher and good friend has gotten engaged to her old crush's younger brother. She's planning to endure the glitz of Las Vegas for Natasha's sake. But the moment she and Dominc Cruz are in the same space, everything they've planned is turned on its head by their rekindling passion.

Love will out! And so will the truth behind the family fortunes. Hang on for super-hot erotic thrills, interspersed with nerve shredding annoyances and world-class drama.

I read along chapter by chapter as Summer unfurled this for her private readers blog, and it kept us on the edges of our seats.

IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE!!!
Talk about being kicked to the curb. Man, this is one interesting bad boy right here. There's more action and drama in this page turning bombshell that keeps you on your toe as the suspense grows thicker. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are unique and strong with each individual traits that play off one another perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it pulls everything together and really makes the storyline pop. With all the twists and turns and the tension coiled so tight someone's about to snap. Summer did a magnificent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Summer, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

A fantastic intriguing second chance romance. Two best friends Dom and Bella, secretly in love with each other but to afraid to tell the other. Then one day Dom just disappeared and broke Bella's heart left with losing her best friend and the boy she was in love and no explanation. Years later in Vegas for her best friends wedding who happens to be marrying Dom's younger brother Derrick. When Dom sees Bella he is determine to win her back and protect her and this is were the heart of the story begins. An addicting page turner from page one. With great humor, sizzling heat, this is a well written true romance with realistic emotions.
