A human pet to dominate and control. To breed. That’s what I am to them. They don’t care what I want—they only care who wins the claim to call me his. But with corruption running deep, and my city on the brink of destruction, I need to find a way to save it. If the two supes fighting for dominance over my body refuse to do it… I guess I have to.
I am Nora Ash, and I write a plethora of different romance books. Some of them are really dirty, some of them are only kinda-dirty, some are paranormal, some are contemporary… Basically, I have a rampant imagination and no way of controlling it, except from just writing down whichever idea pops into my head at the time.
The one thing my books always have in common, though? A great story and a guaranteed HEA. If you’re ever in doubt about what you’re about to read, have a look at my book page. It has a flame rating for each series, so you know what you’re getting yourself into!
I’m originally from the cold North (AKA Scandinavia) but these days I live in rainy England with my amazing fiancé and our two pesty cats. When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching Real Housewives of Wherever (reality tv it’s my shameful addiction) or hiking in whatever bit of woodland I can find.
Three fun facts about me
I once ran away with a traveling circus I’m bilingual. Almost-kinda trilingual, but my Spanish is terri-bad these days. I’m a decent rider (English style only, though)

I've just made room in my bed!! Yeah..I've got a Major crush on The Shade
He's a Superhuman. He's actually the villain, but he's so DAMN good in bed...that I could care less if he's the bad guy. Because I think I love him. I am even beginning to doubt that he is a villain. He's always honest with Kathryn and he Never makes her feel bad. He actually makes her feel good inside.
This is Lightning
He's the Super Hero that partially claimed Kathryn in book one, by marking her as his. But when Lighting saw that his KityKat had been fully claimed by The Shade, he made sure she knew who she really belonged to, by fully claiming her...for hours.
And then he goes and says something stupid and pisses me off...
So I still only have room in my bed for one book boyfriend and it's The Shade
But what I really wanna know is, which one will claim her heart?
Book 2 picks up right where the first ends. Kathryn is still in danger. Lightning and The Shade both want her and are genuinely pissed with the other for touching their property. I need book 3...NOW
I am totally loving this series, but each book feels like a few chapters. And these little snip its are just so good that I want more!! I look forward to the next installment in this series!! I need for Nora Ash to write these just a bit faster!!
DARK, SEXY, & ENTERTAINING!!! Title: Hidden In Darkness Series: Darkness Author: Nora Ash Designation: Book 2 of 4 Part Completed Serial, NOT A Standalone, Cliffhanger Ahead #menage #paranormalromance #romanticsuspense My Rating: FIVE INCREDIBLY HOT STARS ***** **All four books in the Darkness Series were previously published in 2015 with the same titles and content. There have been no revisions but the covers have been updated. ***This is a serial with an ongoing storyline. This review may contain spoilers if you have not read Book 1, Into the Darkness.
Oh my! It's official; I'm hopelessly hooked on Darkness! Hidden In Darkness is the second riveting installment of Ash's newly re-released Darkness Series and folks, we're definitely in for a wild ride! The story is original, unusual, unique, exciting, thrilling, action-packed, full of danger, seductive, arousing and hotter than a firecracker on the Fourth of July! Up until this point, the narrative has been written in the first person from the point of view of the heroine, a naive but stubbornly independent, twenty-six-year-old, self-employed cultural blogger. As the story progresses, the author has now added an integral third person point of view from one of the heroes which I find increases not only the intensity, but also the understanding, and enjoyment of the story. The book is well crafted, well written and well edited. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly. The characters are complex, captivating, engaging, seductive and sexy as sin. The characters literally explode from the pages, draw you in, demand your attention, and capture your heart from beginning to end. Ash skillfully combines these elements into a riveting paranormal/supernatural serial filled to the brim with danger, darkness, intrigue, mystery, suspense, angst, undeniable attraction, and inevitable romance. Once I started reading, I simply could not stop. I was glued to my seat, white knuckling my e-reader with my heart pounding wildly in my chest, and I loved every single minute. It is a completely new spin on paranormal romance and actually has a fascinating plot peppered with thrills, chills, mystery, suspense, and enigmatic characters.
Book 1: When you live in a city like St Anthony that has a crime rate of forty percent above the national average, it's safe to say there's always a crime to write about but struggling, small-time, cultural blogger Kathryn Smith never thought she would get her badly needed big break through personal experience. On a late night run to her favorite coffee shop, she's held at gunpoint by two masked gunmen while they rob the shop and demand cappuccinos to go. Huh? What self-respecting criminal waits for coffee to go? Obviously, the stupid kind! But at least their stupidity results in giving her the chance of a lifetime - an opportunity to interview the masked superhuman hero identified in the press and social media as Lightning. He was tagged with the moniker as a result of his supernatural speed not because of his ability to control lightning, although after seeing him in person, she could imagine that he may actually be able to do just that! He's beyond sizzling hot! So, despite the danger, shattering glass and flying bullets, Kathryn whips out her trusty camera-phone and presses record. However, disappointment soon follows exaltation when she realizes that Lightning is nothing more than another typical, cheeky, flirty and obnoxious member of the male species. She'd just have to work with what she has, even if he isn't the "Golden Boy" she'd always imagined. She could still write an article about him and the other "supes" that would generate some much-needed traffic for her blog, and she'd make sure it's a great article. Ane he had the nerve to question her as a serious reporter?! Well, she would show him exactly how serious she could be. As opposed to all the other journalists who fawned and drooled over him, she would expose him and the other superhumans for the jerks they are! She would be just the opposite and expose the truth - so take that, vigilante heroes! Not that she isn't thankful that Lightning had saved her chubby little behind, but his rude comments have opened her eyes and jolted her from her hero worship. It's also given her an entirely new perspective on the way the mayor and the city of St Anthony rely on the superhuman vigilantes to protect them from the ever looming darkness threatening to consume the city. The masked vigilantes act above the law, meting out their own justice and punishment, and they definitely should not be praised for their violent, unregulated conduct. They need to be policed and stopped. But Kathyrn's new attitude is rewarded with a late night visit from Lightning where she is 'semi-claimed' by the masked supe, Kathryn suddenly becomes all too aware of the fact that she knows nothing about the true nature of the superhumans nor their special abilities. She's more determined than ever to uncover the truth but another unfortunate encounter with the criminal element of the city while looking for clues leaves her in the clutches of the worst superhero of all - Shade. The infamous Shade makes Lightning look like a poster boy for the Boy Scouts. And he wants to claim her too, but he intends to really 'claim' her. Oh my! After two sexual encounters with the not-so-good heroes, Kathryn finds herself wondering who is actually good and who is bad, but soon comes to a joltingly awakening realization. In order to protect herself from Lightning and Shade and whatever personal vendetta they have against each other, she would need every single journalistic instinct she possesses to survive. But little does she know that by questioning the morals and tactics of the mayor along with the unregulated glorified masked superhumans, she has opened Pandora's Box, and her actions are about to rain down hell and wreak havoc on her safe, orderly life. She now has two super heroes claiming and protecting her, but just who will protect her from them??? Oh dear!
Book Two: It has now been four days since that first fateful night when curvaceous Kathryn Smith was rescued from a robbery and unceremoniously claimed by the popular superhuman hero Lightning. Twenty-four hours later, she finds her life at risk again, but this time she's rescued not by Lightning but by the infamous, unscrupulous Shade. What? And the price he demands for saving her was very steep indeed - her complete submission. Oh yes, Lightning and Shade both have now claimed her. But to what end? Why her, and how is it even possible? Kathryn thought she wanted the exciting life of an investigative reporter but now finds she already misses her former mundane existence as a reclusive blogger of cultural issues and its resulting monotony. Maybe she's just not cut out to be a crack investigative journalist and live life on the edge. Nope, she doesn't like flirting with danger at all - not one little bit. And she certainly doesn't like being claimed by not one but two 'supes'. Or does she? Hmm...I think she doth protest too much! But if that's the case, why does she once again find herself traipsing through the dangerous, seedy underbelly of the city following another lead, looking for more clues of the existing corruption and possible links between Mayor Wilkins and the superhuman heroes. Now after several sexual encounters with both irresistibly sexy but not so good heroes wondering, Kathryn finds herself questioning who is good and who is bad and soon comes to a jolting realization. She can't seem to resist either of the handsome supes but in order to protect herself from Lightning and Shade, and whatever personal vendetta they have against each other as well as the evil machinations of the Mayor, she'll need every single journalistic instinct she possesses to survive but little does she know that by questioning the morals and tactics of the mayor and the unregulated, glorified masked superhumans, she has opened Pandora's Box and her actions are about to rain down hell and wreak havoc on her safe, orderly life. And to add to the ever-growing danger and risk to her life, Kathryn has inadvertently discovered the identity of the not so charming Shade along with some not so flattering and very dangerous information about him. Will he want to kill her now as well? Will Kathryn be able to figure out what's really going on before it's too late? She now has two superheroes claiming her but will it be enough to protect her from the Mayor, his goons, the superhuman criminal Bright and the superhuman council??? Even if Lightning and Shade do publicly lay claim to her will it be enough to save her? And if so, who will protect her from them??? Oh my goodness! No spoilers from me but I will say this....Beautiful, curvaceous journalist who is too inquisitive for her own good-check! Two handsome sexy superhuman heroes who seem determined to claim one lovely journalist-check! Danger, drama, mystery, suspense, intrigue, adventure, 'super heroes', corruption and malevolent enemies-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion and steamy dreamy sex-you bet! Thrills, chills and a whole lot more! And just between you and me, these superhumans sound an awful lot like supernaturals, paranormals, and shifters. I can hardly wait to read the next installment and yes, I said installment so this is a serial and it does end in a cliffhanger. But there's good news - the series is complete and all the books are available, so no waiting! Did I like this books? No, I Loved it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some very steamy, dreamy love scenes! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! Nora Ash is one of my favorite authors and has held her position on my automatic one-click list since 2014. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Our intrepid blogger reporter Katherine decides to take matters into her own hands and do some actual investigating. Which takes her across town to do some interviewing and uncover a larger conspiracy involving a special project attached to the mayor. The mayor just happens to have a fancy dress party coming up and she arranges a press pass to it to cover fashion while snooping. And to her amazement, she finds both of her friendly costumed supers in attendance.
I liked this section more than the first section since it followed Katherine in being typical Lois Lane pro-active and not being a mere damsel in distress. While I’m still not a fan of how the story focuses on her weight and calling her chubby all the time (seriously, what does the writer have against being chubby?) This one had less interaction with her two costume-clad crimefighters, but I liked that it got her out of her apartment (which she seems to spend and inordinate amount of time in), and shows us that there are other sections to the city beyond just her crime-riddled neighborhood. And we briefly get to see her Batman lover actually out in the world, outside of his Batman costume.
Two brutal, incredibly hot, superhuman men in one night? Kathryn is one exhausted (but satisfied) woman--and that's with Shade and Lightning dropping by separately. Imagine what could happen if the two superheroes joined forces and visited her together.
Who runs the city? Kathryn uncovers some secrets and realizes that not everything is as it seems--not even her two superheroes. Well, she learns one thing lives up to his name. Superhero Lightning demonstrates his lightning speed to Kathryn--all over her body.
The two superheroes marked Kathryn as theirs and under their protection. Now that promise of protection is put to the test.
I love Kathryn's wry sense of humor, and the combination of masculine charm and brutality in her mysterious superhero lovers. You get a glimpse of raw emotion behind their masks.
I'm eagerly waiting for the next book, which comes out in October. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Fantastic follow on from book 1. It starts off the next day from where bk1 ended. This series has it all drama, suspense, 2 seriously hot men and a blogger with a death wish. Kathryn is warned by both Lightening and Shade to stop investigating the mayor but she takes no notice and ends up putting herself in serious danger. I won't spoil it for anyone else, but if you read books 1 and enjoyed it you have got to read Hidden in Darkness I think this is even better than the 1st one and I loved that one. I will be checking everyday for news on book 3 there are so many questions to be answered, the main one being will Shade and lightening come to Kathryn's aid either alone or will they work together. 5 massive stars from me.
Hidden in Darkness - Book Two - Darkness Series by Nora Ash Picking up where we left off in book one, we see our heroine, Kat, again wandering into a dangerous situation. This time following a lead she hopes will take her off the ‘radar’ of the Mayor, who we now know to be in league with the corrupt and very dangerous Superhumans (or Supes). But in what capacity? Is he controlling them or is it the other way around? Kat meanders blindly through the different scenarios placed before her in an effort to ‘break free’ of the suspicion she is under from the Mayor and the ‘Villain Supes’ he associates with. As Kat stumbles deeper in to a world that she is ill equipped to deal with, her lack of judgement becomes apparent. Kat’s obliviousness to her surroundings while endeavouring to sleuth through the mayor’s computer files at the official ball intensifies our realisation of her naivety. She is truly a babe in the woods and in desperate need of protection. One of our two heroes, Lightning, rescues Kat from certain discovery by the Mayor, in the form of some very intensely suggestive private scenes. This seems to deflect suspicion away from Kat, leaving her free to drop her guard enough to be annoyed at the constant tug-of-war her body feels between Lightning and The Shade. Without giving any more details, let’s just say that it’s during these intensely charged scenes, between Kat and each of our heroes, who in their efforts to assert dominance and their claiming of her, that our author really draws us in to this love triangle. The finesse with which written words portray the scenes leaves the reader gasping for breath along with little heroine Kat. I dare say you’ll find you need a few calming exhales yourself after reading this book. Again, fast paced. The pages practically turning themselves and rocketing you towards the cliff hanger ending! I’m off to read book three. Another five star effort Ms Ash! Bravo!!!
How to describe this instalment of the series in two words – HOLY HOTNESS! The author certainly knows how to write a good steamy session. So, my advice is to have the fans and ice ready because this is a scorcher!! A lot of action is packed into a small number of pages. Marked by two, yet claimed by one, Kathryn continues her crusade to discover the truth. But at what costs this time round? The lines are blurred between friends and enemies, good becomes evil and evil, good as secrets start to be uncovered and so much is not as it seems. The Shade and Lightning keep up with the rivalry and they each want to claim and possess Kathryn as their own. Kathryn on the other hand wants the mark/s to mean more than her just being seen as a possession. I love the back and forth journey the author takes us on in this book and enjoy the style of writing -- just when you think you know what is happening, another mystery crops up and things change once again. The ending is once again a cliff-hanger. All in all, an enjoyable, hot-as-hell, read. I am on to book 3 right now!! I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I voluntarily received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Yeah I choose The Shade lol. Kathryn has, erm, gotten involved with both supes, and even though they both warned her to stay out of trouble, she just doesn’t listen. I do like the portrayal of our “curvy blogger” intrepid reporter but I think she’s a little too intrepid sometimes. A few times I rolled my eyes because she got angry with Lightning and The Shade for telling her what to do — I’d get it if she successfully handled things on her own, but more often than not, she was clueless, so it got to me how annoyed she got with them. I’m sure I’d be like “suurre whatever you want, Shade” lol and simply not leave my house in order to await his return whenever he wanted. We find out a little bit more history to the supes in general and The Shade/Lightning backstory and find out why they are so yin/yang. The series keeps getting better and better.
I liked this read a lot more than I thought I was going to, since the last installment was good but not particularly great. Some of the plot points are used again in Ash's "Alpha Taken" and "Alpha Masquerade" which will be recognizable to those who have read that series, but it didn't bother me too much other than to have a little laugh that she apparently really enjoyed them and wanted to revisit them in her later work. (This work has a lot of similarities that she later uses in the other named series, but I think this is the better of the two based on what I've read so far.)
While it bothers me to pay $2.99 per each 110-ish page installment (I can't blame an author for wanting to get paid properly and wish more authors would charge a bit more for their work when it's higher quality), I am looking forward to continuing this story and seeing where it goes. It was left on one heckuva cliffhanger: how will our two Supes proceed from here?
~ The age-old battle between the Light and the Dark ~
HIDDEN IN DARKNESS is Book #2 of this paranormal menage romance series by Nora Ash.
Aside from the phenomenal supernatural sex she has been experiencing with Lightning and The Shade, she cannot just leave the subject of the Mayor and the supe community alone. She digs up an old post from a fellow blogger naming a superhuman villain named Bright and his alleged involvement with the Mayor. The marks of claim from both her supes are still a mystery to all three, being unprecedented in their history, but their existence just seem to intensify the males’ dark possessiveness over her. She begins to dig deeper into the connections she uncovers with her sleuthing, but what she does manage to uncover makes her question just who to trust, especially those whom she is supposed to trust to protect her.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Oh things have certainly gotten much worse for Kathryn in this one. Not only is she further embedded between The Shade and Lightning, but other supes are starting to take notice of her and their claims. She has pacified the mayor for now but what else will happen to her?!! I have to say I'm totally crushing on The Shade. Although he is dubbed the most evil villain ever, has no soul, and doesn't care who he kills as long as he's killing, there is more to him than what we have seen so far. He obviously puts more stock into Kathryns feelings than Lightning does. Lightning just seems like an arrogant jerk. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
This is the second installment in the darkness series and it is getting better and better. Kathryn is on the hunt for answers to the questions regarding the superheroes and the criminal activity in the town at the same time fighting her intense steamy attraction to the the the alpha superheroes lightning and the shade. This leads to STEAMY scenes. Nora did a great job linking the first 2 books as well as continuing to build the suspense and I can’t wait for book 3. This does have a cliffhanger but the series is too good to stop now.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review
Series Book 1: Kathryn is a blogger. A huge opportunity comes to her in the form of a "superhero" stopping an armed robbery as she makes her daily coffee run. He's not exactly what she expected. The resulting article gets her the boost her blog needed, but it also gets her a lot more. She never expected her comments to draw a target on her neck. Now she's stuck between two supes. One is a "good guy" acting badly and the other is a "bad guy" acting goodly. Will she be able to get to the truth in all this mess? Great story with a creative world and well developed characters. I love this series so far and can't wait to read the next one!
In this second instalment of the series Kathryn has sure managed to get herself in a bind. This story is seriously addictive. Not sure who is good and who is evil but The Shade does have some admirable qualities while I would like to slap Lightning upside the head. Now to find out what Bright is up to. Can't wait for book 3.
I did read the series altogether because I seen the chapters where small, but don’t think his series is not worth your time! The author didn’t add in fillers just to make more chapters, she added TWO Sexy male SUPERHEROES/ dragons to fight against each other and fight for her (main female character). The book was packed with action and sex and male phenomenons
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
As things really start to heat up, Kat continues to ignore the warning from her 2 Supes… So of course things are about to get sticky. Yep that's right people 2 SUPERNATURALS loving on her. But of course things aren't so easy.
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
Our reporter is definitely getting into more trouble. And her two supes seem to want to fight for the claim that of owning her. She’s not to thrilled about be an object. But she is more worried about finding more about the city’s corruption.
I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this series. The characters are really interesting and I like the mystery surrounding the mayor. It has some great steamy scenes and while it doesn't take itself too seriously, it's well-written.
Starting to really love The Shade. Really going to smack Lightning. Both boys need a serious attitude adjustment and I think Kat is going to give it to them if they continue to ply their own private war in her bedroom. Either that, or she is going to die of ecstasy.
The second of the Darkness series continues the promise of the first with solid superpower plot advancement as Kat continues her investigations, with breathtaking erotica as Lightning finally claims what is his, and with stunning character development as The Shade registers his objection in a way which shows how powerful he is beyond simple superpowers (a man willing to give control while still dominating - shiver producing!). An excellent mix of superpower and hard erotica.
I found it much better than the 1st book as it became more involved with what was happening to the community around them and the dialogue between the 3 main characters was much more than it had been.
It just is not in Kathryn to accept advice and stay out of trouble. Revelations, discoveries and kidnapping make this story suspenseful and chock full of intrigue.
This followed the first book closely. Unlike the Alpha books, this one didn't quite hit the spot with me. Despite still digging for answers, Kathryn can't help lusting after Shade
NB: Each book is short & ends on a cliffhanger. 2 1/2 - 3 stars. I'm not a big comic book or superhero fan, but this was better than expected. It was a more realistic world, not a cheesy, evil incarnate versus OTT adult boyscout/Pollyanna stereotype. But, unfortunately, the books after #1 Into the Darkness, are either too short or there's not enough of them, for series to not feel like a race to the finish, losing all character, world & relationship development.
Hidden In Darkness-Book 2 - A red-hot romance that sets the pages on fire. Series are fabulous, you get acquainted with all the awesome characters and the characters in this series are powerful, sultry, and superhuman heroes.
This story features Kathryn an audacious, sexy, curvaceous blogger who can't keep herself clear of horrific danger; Shade and Lightning, two strapping, sultry, potent superhuman heroes who have claimed Kathryn as their own and have sworn to protect her.
Shade and Lightning find themselves in a profoundly precarious situation. They have tried their best to persuade Kathryn to stop snooping without success. She might as well wear a neon sign stating come get me. Can the two heroes put aside their loathsome feelings towards each other and protect her, or will they walk away allowing Kathryn to disappear without a trace of life?
What you'll find in this story; a cast of amazing impressive and engaging characters, spectacular story-line, picturesque and potent scene descriptions, pent-up rage, emotions skyrocket, heart-wrenching moments, suspense, intrigue, superb banter, life threatening moments, surprise reveals, spine-tingling jaw-dropping pulsating romance, and a hair-raising conclusion that leaves you awe-struck and wanting answers.
INCREDIBLE exhilarating well written read by a genuinely creative author. All the characters are convincing and certainly praise-worthy; Lightning, Shade, and Kathryn are lionhearted and passionate. Beneath the spine-tingling romance lies a most impressive story; I relished it and eagerly await the next book. If you enjoy romance with spine-chilling danger this is an excellent choice for your library. In the world of fantasy romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. {I was given an arc for a completely honest review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book, and the series.....
The Second installment starts where Into The Darkness leaves off, with Karolyn , the Shade , Lightening, and her looking for more clues. Getting invited to the mayor's autumn ball she needs to act like a dim witted reporting blogger asking questions that really don't matter. She notices someone there she believes she recognized, but could it be? Of course Lightening is at her side trying to keep the mayor off her trail by having a heated moment while shes trying to dig. It doesn't end there tho ..Later the lightening the first superhuman to mark her or half mark her shows at her home, and she gives in to his cravings and her own as well. Afterwards feeling safe lightening can't seem to handle the magic of his own mark , and busts out hurting Kathryn at the same time. The Shade the dark vigilante feels her emotions, and comes to her , giving her what she needs as well, trying to prove himself, but the things she uncovers makes her wonder whose side is he really on? Who can be trusted? Just when she thinks nothing can get any worse,, the Bright shows up, the dangerous and some would say the mayor's closest supe..Will Kathryn actually come out of this alive? Or was getting marked by two enemies cause more harm then any could imagine? Must read series! This is the second part and it's more thrilling, exciting, sexually arousing the deeper the darkness takes us! Nora Ash has done a brilliant job at keeping this series captivating! Can't wait to see what happens next!! Highly recommended by Alpha Loving Erotic Book Beauty Blogger I received this book in exchange for an honest review
I enjoyed this short storyof intrigue about superhumans and the woman they desired a young blogger Kathyrn Smith was trying to find information about a story that another reporter and started but who disappeared along with his whole family and she is determined to find out all she can about what St Anthony's mayor is up to she was attacked in an alley and Shade a superhuman came and rescued her and took her body as a reward and left his mark after Lighting left his partial mark and they both want her for their own but Lighting is so arrogant that she cannot stand him and she thinks that Shade is lying to her but it gets much more intriguing as the story continues. A lot of suspense. readers 18 and older. i received a copy for an honest review.
