This was a hard book to read. It had a lot of potential but did nothing with it. People who were written in were killed off way too easily. The bad people were just bad for the sake of plot. The good guys were heavily flawed and weak and did not grow at all. This entire story was just really flat. That's the best way to describe it. It's a meh story at best. Nothing to write home about at all.
I hate giving low reviews. I believe there may be extenuating circumstances that have hurt this particular book, I just am not sure. I took notes on misspellings and weird sentences but gave up after 16 of them. They get worse as the book progresses. It appears that English may not be Lanak F. Tanor's first language. And/or he had a lousy (or any) translator/editor. That fixed, this book might shoot up to three or four stars. I actually found the book refreshing, for the most part, it was just hard to read with simple misspellings and the euphemisms written as from someone who is foreign. But hey, Lanak put a decent story to paper and got it out here for us to read which is more than I have done.
This story has adventure, that I think young teens and adults would like. Thinking of my students they probably would of liked more stats listed and what stats you could get. It’s an adventure to stop the succubi curse to save the villages. Can Lanka do it? Will people he meets along the way help him or destroy him? I received a free copy for my honest review.
This is a wonderful and refreshing take on of the fantasy genre. I love the gaming elements to it and found this to be something different and unique. Definitely worth a read.
