PT O volume que finalmente traz as respostas que esperávamos, mas que, ao mesmo tempo, levanta novas perguntas de forma surpreendente.
Fico um pouco confuso, pois parece que a série tem apenas mais um volume, mas a caixa que a Devir enviou com o primeiro volume parece ter espaço para seis. Será que o último é mais volumoso? Vamos ver.

Two twists in one volume... outstanding.

Three of the biggest plot twists land here and boy were they all land mines! I didn’t see ANY of them coming, especially the middle and last ones, like wow! The mangaka definitely knows how to throw down a twist!
Beyond those though this volume felt very much like Volume Three in that it’s very jumbled and rushed in places or has zero impact at all in both comedy and drama. Aside from the plot twists and what those revelations do to the characters, I didn’t really feel the rest of this volume which is too bad.
And again I’d recommend skipping the extra comic strips at the end due to more sexual types comments (except for the one where Funi ends up sleeping on Ulgar’s bed—that one was pretty funny and cute). The worst one is of a girl implying to a woman that her boyfriend is dating a guy so as to keep her (an adult) from being “interested” (which she’s not) in him (a teen guy). Tell me, why was that necessary?
The last twist definitely made me want to keep reading, though I wish I didn’t keep having issues with these later volumes.

Näyttää siltä, että "Astra - avaruuden haaksirikkoisista" on tulossa yksi harvoista loppuun saakka lukemistani mangasarjoista, sillä toiseksi viimeistä osaa viedään jo! Nuorisolaisille suunnattu avaruusseikkailu tarjoilee sen verran jännittäviä juonenkäänteitä myös tässä pokkarissa, että täytyy kai se päätösosa varata kirjastosta.

I'm shocked and have some hypotheses about what really happen because something isn't adding up..There is no way Polina was only asleep for 12 years..

My most favorite volume of this series! I absolutely loved it and I couldn't stop reading it. I feel like so many things were revealed, and I was so surprised by most of what I found out about the plot.
I really love this series and how well thought out it is, but this volume just proved to me that the series is even more well thought out than I expected.
So many smart plot twists that actually make sense for the plot, and I really loved how everything was revealed. I didn't expect the extra character but I think it's fitting for the plot, and after being disappointed a bit from volume 3, this is definitely what I needed to read now.
My most favorite volume of this series! I absolutely loved it and I couldn't stop reading it. I feel like so many things were revealed, and I was so surprised by most of what I found out about the plot.
I really love this series and how well thought out it is, but this volume just proved to me that the series is even more well thought out than I expected.

Oooooh, this volume was packed with twists and revelations! The story is good and intriguing, very good stuff. I loved it! And omg, Zack, he's the best, haha. I've grown fond of the whole cast and I can't wait to see what the final book brings for them.

The best way to describe Volume 4 of Kenta Shinohara’s Astra Lost in Space is — much like Quitterie’s reaction to the bluntest confession known to man — a series of jack-in-the-boxes. We open to the confounding mystery introduced at last volume’s end, reel from the tragic discovery our young space-farers recognise about themselves mid-volume, and gasp at the unexpected question raised in its final pages. Volume 3’s marooning on the desolate planet Icriss invited resigned, heartbreaking despair, yet the raw truths unearthed here may very well render that but a minor inconvenience. Where on “Earth” do we go from here?
Kanata and the gang’s miraculous discovery of another Astra – and within it, a woman preserved via cryostasis – is a stunning subversion; yes, we knew the stranded children wouldn’t be stuck on Icriss forever, but while the key being another stranded astronaut in Polina Livinskaya isn’t necessarily unpredictable (after all, how else could they repair the Astra?), who would’ve guessed another member would join the Astra crew? Moreover, this surprise discovery already opens a world of engagement and conspiracy; indeed, the mysteries of a likely traitor and why the crew was sent out to die been raised since the beginning, but as she’s in possession of classified information not yet revealed, Polina’s rescue raises further questions beyond the scope of this adventure; in other words, the potential causes behind those schemes may have been shaped by the world itself — a fact all but confirmed at the volume’s end.
Of course, the series doesn’t revolve around Ms. Livinskaya, and so we have more than several loose ends regarding the kids. Needless to say, the discovery of their origins is a bitter pill to swallow, and tears are shed all around. It’s telling this was hand-crafted during the series conception – even the casual reader would ponder why Quitterie and Funicia look so similar despite being adoptive siblings, for instance, and Aries’s potential exclusion from this conspiracy will undoubtedly open further doors. However, it’s in Kanata’s heartfelt declaration — “I say WE’RE family!” – that we recognise Astra Lost in Space has evolved past its initial goal. This is no longer just a life-or-death trek; nay, their survival may very well unravel the world’s secrets not merely for the crew’s closure, but to render their home planet a better place. And what better evidence than the last six pages of this volume: a blindsiding twist that, unlike the origin story, I hardly recall any foreshadowing for. Had I not already read the free chapters on VIZ’s official site, I’d be chomping at the bit for the final book.
This isn’t to say everything’s all doom and gloom; as elaborated above, it’s here where the Astra crew’s chemistry truly comes forward. With most everyone emerged from their shells, that even the formerly-reclusive likes of Ulgar and Yun-Hua not only turn to the others but engage in their comedic hijinks is evident of their ever-growing bond. Even the volume-ending four-panel gag comics feed into this — for instance, we echo Polina’s curiosity in the crew’s fascination with Aries’s Malaprop quirks rather than her unnoticed terms of endearment– and that’s probably why they’re my favourite round of Shinohara’s signature comedy. Indeed, their camaraderie is every bit as touching and heart-warming as the most abrupt of marriage proposals (yes, really!).
It’s not perfect — despite her fleeting crisis here, I can’t help but notice Funicia is lacking presence (perhaps Shinohara struggles to naturally implant a 10-year-old within a group of teenagers?) – but given the obvious calculation into such a condensed series, it’s a marvel not merely how Shinohara pre-planned everything but succeeded in nurturing our affection for the core cast. Not everyone has completed their character arcs — a hurdle we’ll clear in the next (and final) volume — so whether or not Shinohara stumbles through the finish line will be vital. I’d say I wouldn’t expect him to given his expertise, but as I’ve already read it, I’d be lying. (Or, wait, does that imply he doesn’t? Er, I’ll stop talking…)
Alas, as I’ve stated throughout this review, we are already approaching end of our journey. Astra Lost in Space was never designed as a very long serialization, and so the journey concludes next volume. Even with the earth-shattering secrets unveiled here, there’s still puzzles to solve — even with the newfound world history about to be divulged, will the unknown traitor let them do so? And who’s to say the Astra crew will be met with a warm welcome if they make it home? Perhaps most importantly: will the final volume adequately juggle all this?

Allora, il volume mi è piaciuto un po' meno dei precedenti, perché da un lato ho trovato prevedibili sia la risoluzione del problema dell'astronave, sia l'origine dei ragazzi, dall'altra penso che la staticità nel volume si sia fatta sentire un po' troppo. Uno dei fattori più importanti di questa serie è, a mio avviso, il bilanciamento tra colpi di scena e elucubrazioni sulle varie questioni e esplorazione/dinamismo, ecco qui mi è sembrato andarsi un po' tutto a perdere per la spiegazione iniziale del nuovo personaggio e quella centrale, molto lunga. Ma insomma, ci sta, meglio una cosa troppo spiegata che una troppo poco.
Dall'altro lato il finale mi ha lasciato piacevolmente spiazzata, oltre ad avermi fatto rivalutare l'utilità del personaggio aggiuntosi in questo quarto volume, portando ad un cambio di prospettiva notevole per il lettore.
Non vorrei mettere troppo le mani avanti ma ho un po' di ansia per il prossimo (ultimo) volume: c'è molta carne al fuoco, forse troppa, e ho paura in qualche scivolone, dopo che già questo è stato meno convincente.
Insomma abbiamo ancora aperte molte questioni: 1 pianeta ancora da visitare, il ritorno, la spia, la Terra, Aries, i genitori... Incrociamo le dita.
E spero che si riesca ad avere un focus su tutti i personaggi, dato che in questo volume una buona metà si è a malapena vista.

Unfortunately, I had to take a big break after reading the first half since I had forgotten to take the book with me to college, hence my review will be as fragmented as my memories of the story.
I do remember that this is where the "big reveal" is made, but I think most of the action and spice was saved for the final volume, making this one focused more on introspection-talking about feelings-recap-character development.
A new character is also introduced, and even though she didn't have as significant a role to play in this volume, the ending cliffhanger hints at some more major upheavals in the future.
I love the one-shots/panels at the end. It gives better insights into the relationships between the characters which are often not as prominently portrayed in the main story due to the fast-paced action and plot progression. Plus, it is much more light-hearted and wholesome.
The final volume looks almost twice the size of the rest of the volumes, and I am sufficiently invested in all the characters now to root for them till the end!

The 9 high school students working to make their way back home after being sent 5,000 light years to another planet have made their way to a planet where they find another ship just like the Astra ... and inside is a woman in cryogenic sleep, the only survivor from the ship's original mission. The students fo Group B-5 are also about to find out a deep and dark secret that will help explain what happened to send them all the way out into space on their own.
The characters are certainly coming are growing and developing quite nicely. This volume definitely has a surprise twist that changes everything about the over-arching storyline, but it defintiely makes things more interesting. I can't wait to get my hands on volume 5, which is the conclusion.

[I write reviews for my own memory mostly, so pretty spoilery below!!]
The Zack and Quitterie conversation had me dying. These idiots, hahahahaha.
In regards to THE REVEAL, I had an inkling along those lines, but it was more crushing than I was anticipating when it was laid out. I love these sweet little goofballs. ;-;
The SECOND reveal, though--oh snapppp. I was wondering why the world war or whatever was in the 1960s and assumed this was just supposed to be an alternate universe/timeline and that that wasn't a surprise.

Yun-Hua features on the cover, but I don't know why. She doesn't do much in the series overall outside of her one chapter early.
This one sees our crew exploring a seeming replica of the Astra ship on a foreign planet. And the discovery they find is something that will turn the series upside down a bit.
Solid little arc. Setting up for the finale with crazy revelations upon revelations. Don't want to spoil the fun, so I'll leave it at that for this review.

Bisher der beste Band der Reihe! Dieser Plottwist! Die Spannung! Gnargh, die Reihe ist einfach nur genial!
Bei DEM Plottwist schlechthin musste ich laut Luft holen. Das kam aus dem NICHTS und ergibt dennoch sehr viel Sinn. Der Manga schafft es perfekt die Dinge so zu erklären, dass man als Leser*in noch drauskommt.
Endlich erhalten wir ein paar Antworten und neue Fragen tauchen auf. Ich freu mich auf den fünften und letzten Band der Reihe.

When you think the big secret is out the last panel goes "nope here is a possibly bigger secret"

After a bit of a dip last volume, the formula changes up here and we start to get answers to the long running mysteries even as new complexities are introduced. There’s still some unnecessary sexualization in the art from time to time, but it’s not as pronounced as it is in so many other manga series. One last volume to go!

As the Astra's journey continues along, our group makes a few big discoveries.
I feel like the journey is a little bit rushed, we don't get as much time seeing the new planets and their traits, but there is a lot of great time spent with the crew.
With only one volume left I cannot wait to see how this series concludes!

So a lot of bombshells in this volume as we learn about why the children were sent away and the reveal was not something I was expecting but the even bigger bombshell helps explain some of the parts of the world building in that history is either altered or erased as we learn when the children meet a new main character.

Uuh, asioita paljastuu ja huh, millaisia ne luurangot hahmojen kaapeissa olivatkaan. Yhden hahmon osalta arvailuni osui oikeaan, mutta en kyllä lähellekään tällaisia pommeja odottanut. Etenkin Polinan pudottama yllätys lopussa vei koko potin. Todella koukuttava mangasarja, joka toimii parhaiten kun osat ahmii perä perää.

Didn't expect that Shinohara would throw in another character here (this is NOT a spoiler, y'all) but I think I can handle it okay. The bigger picture starts to be revealed. I'm still simping over Kanata, but Zack bluntness is getting really amusingly funny.

Jännitys alkaa tiivistymään, kun avaruuteen ajautuneista nuorista ja heidän taustoistaan alkaa paljastumaan lisää uusia asioita. Kun mukaan soppaan lisätään ja lopun cliffhanger, niin sarjan viimeistä osaa odottaakin ihan erilaisella tavalla. 4 tähteä.

C'est fou qu'un manga regorgeant d'horrible vices humains puisse me faire rire à ce point. Bien que ce ne soit que des copies, ils ont des personnalités qui leur sont propres. Ce sont des adolescents pleins d'espoir et ça c'est quand même réconfortant

This volume was AWESOME! So much better than the last, thank god! This story is taking so many turns and I’m just so excited to see what happens next. Can’t wait for the next one!
