The robots are here and they're not happy, at all. After accidentally releasing the robot villains from Super Bot World 3 into the real world, Jesse Rigsby's got to figure out a way to make everything right before anyone gets hurt. He'd usually rely on his friend Eric to help him with this sort of thing, but he's gone missing. To find Eric, Jesse will have to survive rickety mine carts, sewer piranhas, mysterious men in suits and a 100-foot-tall robot named Goliatron. This is Jesse's most dangerous adventure yet because this time the video game is real. And in the real world, there are no extra lives.
We have now read three books in this excellent series. And with each volume the series gets better. We picked up the first book in this series, Trapped in a Video Game, after my son started reading it with his cousins. They read every night before bed and he was hooked after the first few chapters. We picked up the eBook as soon as we were home, and my son devoured it. My son was enjoying them so much we picked up the whole series. He reads to me from his iPod and I follow on my iPhone. My son read this to me as part of his daily reading. He often reads well beyond the minimum 20 minutes a day, when reading this series, because he wants to finish the chapter, or find out what happens next. We are well into book four. Any book that inspires my son to keep reading when the timer goes off is a big winner in my opinion. And because of that it got a solid 5/5 stars from both of us.
This is the third installment in a five-book series. We are a little late to the game, in that the whole series has already been released. It just means we can read them back to back. The story was first self published in 2016, then picked up and published in 2018 by Andrews McMeel Publishing.
This is a story about friendship, about video games, and about survival. But in this one instead of being inside the video games, the video game has escaped into the real world. Jesse Rigsby really does not like video games. His best friend is Eric Conrad loves games and cannot wait to play the latest and greatest. They have rescued their friend Mark from a game, and possible death. And their new friend Sam a gamer from down under. In this volume Eric is the one needing rescue. He has been captured by Robots and though Jesse intends to go after him alone, Mark and Sam follow him into the fray. And soon they are working through the game that Sam had been plying. But they soon find out that because she played on the hardest level she had not finished it. They need to find a way to do some research to figure out what the Robots are up to and try and figure out where they will do it.
In this story there will be a crazy rollercoaster like tide ion an underground mine. A hot air balloon, a Rocketship. And Robots, robots, robots. Including a giant Goliatron.
But to find out if the trio can rescue Eric, or if the story continues into volume four you will need to read this fast-paced action-packed story. The story is fun. The action almost non-stop. And the characters after three volumes are becoming like old friends. And you will want to have book 4 on hand to keep reading the series. The story is so good my youngest daughter has started listening to her brother read me the stories.
Another great read in an excellent series. Our family gives it top marks and highly recommends the book and the series!
Review by my 11-year-old son. His favorite part is the ending…. i will add that this seems to be the only one of the five with a female character. all of the other major and aide characters are male
Children love video games and being trapped in one would be a dream for many. In this novel, being trapped in a video game is a nightmare. Three boys named Eric, Mark and Jesse meet a girl named Sam who helps them try to escape the game. Even though the government is aware of children becoming trapped due to an experiment gone wrong, instead of helping the children they want to erase the mess so the public remains unaware. Since the children are left on their own with no help, they use each other’s strengths to conquer the villains that they encounter and eventually save themselves and others from being trapped in a video game forever.
“Trapped in a Video Game- Robots Revolt” has an extremely engaging title and cover which would instantly lure children to read this novel. This is the third novel in the series. The beginning includes a few pages explaining the events from the first and second book since this story continues right where the second left off. There are a lot of actions and sounds which makes the story difficult to follow at some points. Even though there are illustrations interspersed throughout, adding more would have made it easier to visualize what was happening rather than having to fully concentrate on the wordiness of the text, which would be challenging for young readers.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the NetGalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.” As the story continues in this epic tale of courage and sneakiness. Eric and his friends along with the other kids who were enslaved, find themselves racing against time to stop the evil overlords from taking over the world or destroying it. What ever they may be up too?
I wish this book was around when I was younger, it definitely would have kept me ending. I can't tell you how funny this series has been already, you have to experience for your self.
The book that I am reading is, “ Trapped in a Video Game, Robots Revolt, by Dustin Brady. I am not finished with the book yet but so far I really like it is a very interesting book. The book is taking things that you would find in a video game and implementing them into a characters life causing chaos and fun at the same time. My favorite character right now is Sam because she is one of those people that love video games that involve strategy and i'm a person who loves those kind of games. My favorite quote is when Jesse finds a hover board and yells at his friend to, “HELP BEFORE I CRASH”. I like this quote because it shows that even in dangerous situations you can have fun. So overall I really enjoyed this book at least from what I've read so far.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is such a innovative series. I remember being unsure if I would like it when I first received book one, but I quickly became hooked. Any middle-grade reader would love this series, mainly because of the premise.
It’s about friendship, robots, a rescue and staying alive! The writing is appealing enough to entice and probably hook young readers. The writing is also age appropriate. At the back of the book is a section that shows how to draw a robot and a list of other books in the series or available through A.M. Universal.
Trapped in a video game was very interesting and a good way to keep the book sires alive! The author made this book to entertain the reader with a funny story. This book is fiction so it did not rely happen. it is intriguing how the righter was so creative and thought of the idea of a kid being trapped in a video game. I liked this book because a lot of action this part. In this book Jesse and Eric find a way to get out of the robot aliens level and then a giant robot a peers. The two had to fight of the robot and bring the city to justice.

Dustin Brady does not disappoint. This is the 3rd book in the Trapped in a Video game series, and I loved it. The part I thought was cool was that the video game is inside HIS world, not the other way around like the other books. He has to defeat robots inside real life, and there is no extra lives in real life. That's why it's Jessie's most dangerous mission yet. I recommend you read this book, but read the first 2 Trapped in a Video Game books first!
It's about rescuing Eric from the game and then slowly Jesse goes to new game and Mr Gregory Is reporting to police Finally mark has been found he has spent his 80 years in full blast After that he again Risks his life because Eric has been trapped and slowly series continue at the end finally marks mother sees her child but Charlie doesn't remember his father Mr Gregory To be continued ... No more spoilers ps it's the end

I think book 2 is still my favorite so far, but I did really enjoy this one. I like how there was an introduction of a new character and the script was flipped to where the video game was in the real world, rather than the other way around. These remain favorites for my daughter and, when you’ve got a child who is a reluctant reader, finding anything they’re willing to not only read, but continue the series of, is a win.
My son is 10 and loves video games. He loved this book and read it in one sitting. He has ADHD and tends to need frequent breaks when reading. Not with this one as it kept his attention. This book is the third installment in a 5 book series.
Be sure to follow Jesse Rigsby and the wild adventures he encounters inside different video games.
This is our third book in the series and it was a fun one! The robots have captured their “princess” and are rebuilding their whole game in the real world. The kids have to move through the levels to save their friend. Lots of cliffhangers, some fun new characters, and another ending that leaves us ready for the next in the series!
Listened to the audiobook with the family on our road trip. We have listened to the first two books prior and decided to continue the series. Considering, I'm not the demographic for this book, it was still entertaining to me. And as a bonus it kept my kids engaged and off of their phones for the duration of the book. That's a plus for this mom.
Trapped in a video game book 3 was a good book that I would read again. It's about three friends trying to save their friend from killer robots. I think that lots of people should read this book. I hope they make more books like this. I really liked the book
I started reading this series with my son, and now I can’t put them down myself. The stories and characters are so much fun, so interesting and engaging. I really enjoyed this book.
The game had made its way out and is building in the real world. Making the way through this series with my ten year old, both of us enjoyed the book. This was as comical as the others, every chapters made it hard to not keep going.
I read this to my son. It’s fun to see Jesse’s evolution of strength and conviction since the first book. We laughed trying to come up with Aussie accents when we read Sam’s lines. We were terrible but it was a lot of fun.
Hardcover This one was sooooo fun, my fave of the series so far. My son is really looking forward to the last, which is currently on hold at the library :)
First I thought ohh this book is bad but then I opened it and read it was marvelous and I just can’t believe it then In learn that never judge a book by its cover.
