Can an Ugly Duckling find the home she's always longed for?
"A Home for the Ugly Duckling"
Before school secretary, Edna Merryweather, was the slightly odd, but lovable matchmaker of Middleton Prep, she was simply Edna Ducking, or, as her school classmates dubbed her, ‘The Ugly Duckling’; everyone’s favorite subject of ridicule and rejection.
So how does someone go from being the school outcast to being the school love expert? It all starts with quirky twin sisters and a handsome, green eyed boy who are willing to see Edna for herself, rather than the label she has carried for so many years.
Does love require words?
"The Librarian and Her Beast"
Football coach Nash Wilde is every girl's dream. He's tall, dark and handsome, but he refuses to speak more than one word at a time. His lack of communication skills drives librarian Piper Belmont crazy, as does her attraction to the silent, brooding man. However, when he saves her from a dangerous situation a tentative relationship begins.
Just as they are getting to know each other, Piper is forced to leave town for a family emergency, leaving the door open for the staff's reigning beauty queen to take Piper's place. Will Nash ever trust Piper enough to share his secrets with her? Or will their fledgling relationship die before it ever had a chance?
Being a Secret Santa wasn't meant to be this hard.
"Ms. Cinder's Prince"
Charlotte Cinders is anything but thrilled when she draws her crush’s name in the staff Secret Santa gift exchange. Demure and quiet, she has never been able to approach the history teacher whose cute bow ties and piercing blue eyes make her melt.
Christian Prince suffers from a bad case of ‘shy’. He's had his eye on a lovely, first grade teacher with a penchant for quirky shoes, but can't find the courage necessary to let her know how he feels.
Trouble arrives in the form of pushy PTO president, Mrs. Tremain, who decides she wants Christian for herself and does everything she can to keep the two teachers apart. Between dodging Mrs. Tremain’s marriage-minded traps, clandestine midnight cleaning sessions, and troublesome twins, it’s going to take a miracle for everyone’s dreams to come true.
He’s a Shakespeare quoting charmer, but the one girl he wants, refuses to be part of his fan-club.
"Waking Ms. Briar"
Sent to private school from the time she was a toddler, Aurora, (Rory) Briar, has quickly learned that everyone in life leaves. But one fateful night, on her sixteenth birthday, she dances with a charismatic boy in the woods, creating a sweet memory she has held onto for eight years.
Now in her twenties, Rory takes a job as a science teacher at the private academy of Middleton Prep and to her delight, discovers her mystery boy is a fellow teacher. It doesn’t take long, however, for those memories to turn sour as she watches Steven Phillips flirt and charm everyone he comes into contact with. Realizing their past meant nothing to him, Rory pushes him away despite the chemistry they share.
When they are forced to together on a project for underprivileged youth, Rory and Steven quickly figure out that they must overcome their differences or other people may suffer the consequences.

A HOME FOR THE UGLY DUCKLING: Lovely story!! I loved Edna, and my heart broke when the cruel people taunted and teased her. I think it's a great lesson to all of us to never act like that, because it deeply hurts the recipient. Loved Martin and the twins: Flora and Fauna!! They are absolutely delightful characters and it was a joy to get to know them!! Great introduction to the Middleton Prep series!! 4 out of 5 stars P.S. LOVE the cover!!
THE LIBRARIAN AND HER BEAST: Loved 'The Librarian and her Beast'!!! Thoroughly enjoyed reading it!! I fell in love with Piper and Nash. Although Nash doesn't speak much, the author helped him to convey so much meaning and emotion through his eyes... and his grunts! Piper and Nash are a beautiful couple together, and they just make me smile whenever they're together in the story. Also, loved how this book was based on "Beauty and the Beast'. It has incorporated lots of the themes from the fairytale really well, and the overall story flows smoothly. I also really liked some of the secondary characters and can't wait to read their stories! 5 out of 5 stars!!
MS CINDER'S PRINCE: What a beautiful story!! Fell in love with Charlotte and Christian!! Charlotte is a true princess, from her beauty to her kind spirit. They are a perfect match together, and I was rooting for them before the first chapter had finished! The secondary characters were all lovely, and it was great to see Nash and Piper again. I absolutely detested Mrs Tremain and was kind of hoping she'd get fired... Overall, a beautiful, whimsical story filled with lots of sweet romance! 5 out of 5 stars!!
WAKING MS BRIAR: Loved it! It was really sweet, and I immediately fell in love with Steven and Aurora (I can see why Steven calls her that, it's such a beautiful name!). Steven is so dreamy!! If there were guys who quoted Shakespeare to me in real life... sigh... I guess this is why we read books :) The setting was nice, and I especially liked the secondary characters. Anita was so cute as well! The plot was good and I enjoyed the overall story. The author did a very good job of incorporating just the right amounts from the original fairytale. Loved how close to Sleeping Beauty the characters were without being corny or cheesy. 5 out of 5 stars!
Eeek! All the Middleton Prep books in one place. I can hardly contain my excitement.
Laura Ann does a fantastic job retelling the classic tales with a modern twist. I am especially excited to find the prequel included in this set as it is an exclusive read for those on her email list. The prequel is key to filling in gaps and understating a key character in all Middleton Prep books so it’s a gem.
A good clean romance, a la Hallmark movie meets Disney style.
Okay, so the prequel made me cry, but I loved all the stories and how she puts something into the modern stories to help you laugh at the original fairytale. I loved the school background and the camaraderie between the teachers! There were a ton of typos, but from an indie author that doesn't have a team of reviewers/editors, it was pretty great!
I loved this box set of romantic fairy tale retellings set in a prep school. From the Ugly Duckling, to Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, each story was unique, touching and lovely. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I totally loved these sweet fairy tale remakes! Each story has imaginative twists while you can see the original fairy tale woven throughout:) I highly recommend this book set and this author! Happy reading!
