So it begins...
Stars!
Once again Liz Meldon exceeds expectations with her writing. Book one in the Unbowed series offered up a sexy, kinky story the likes of which I haven’t read in a long time.
Just him and me and the Caribbean Sea…
I’m not going to lie and say the story-line was new or unusual; Kink, Doms, Escorts, a Contract etc, are all tropes that have been used together, separately and everything in-between many, many times before, I will also be honest and say that personally this is a theme that I have read more than my fair share of, and cards-on-the-table I am pretty much over it, but this is Liz Meldon, and I love her writing, so making an exception was not that hard a decision to make.
"I want to know you…"
The tropical locale and the couple in question made this a book that was easy to get immersed in, particularly in levels of enjoyment, this is a couple that although not committed to each other in the traditional sense are no less dedicated in their endeavors within the relationship they have agreed upon. Dom/Sub; as you would expect the sexy-times are delivered in a certain way with Dean very much being in control of Belle and her pleasure.
Slipping into my Dom shoes again, adopting a casual control over something as ordinary as crossing the sidewalk and getting into a car-it soothed me… Made me feel more myself.
I liked them together in a sexy and non-sexy way and that their first month was told through dual POV, because they were both getting to know each other and through both of their thoughts and feelings it becomes obvious very quickly that the black and white terms of the contract between them, start blurring on both sides as the time they spend together lengthens.
I found I liked the punishments… and the rewards.
But with Dean’s backstory not being fully revealed as yet, and Belle still discovering the ways and expectations of a Submissive, particularly for Dean, I am interested to see how things continue to develop in the second installment.
Belle made me weak… And a Dom couldn’t be weak.
With feelings now starting to come into play between them, and the tenuous trust they had built coming under strain through Belle and then Dean's actions in this part of their story, I cannot wait to get my hands on Part two, February for this couple has come to pass, and luckily only a few weeks to wait for March, and it cannot come quickly enough for this reader.

I was right to be pumped for this ARC!
This book is about a dom/ sub forced proximity relationship. Dean (dom) hires Belle (sub) for 2 months to accompany him to his private tropical island and to be at the ready for him everyday but Sunday — Sunday is a day off. It’s so well written, the feelings both characters have for the trip, activities and each other. It’s a kink story, BDSM is the theme.
There’s caning, spanking (hand and paddle), and forced orgasms as forms of punishment. Mostly Belle is punished for having an orgasm without permission. Dean is primarily trying to train her to either wait for his permission or ask. Really he just want to be asked, to know that he is driving her crazy. I can’t tell if Belle is a brat or really incapable of holding out.
I like how their relationship grows through the book. It’s completely obvious they care more each other than they should given this is a business transaction but how the story unfolds is beautiful. Not gonna the lie the ending is intense but so good. READ THIS BOOK!
Belle (part 1) takes place the first month on the island.
Liz writes BDSM / Alpha’s the right way. She writes descriptive and hot sex scenes. No cringey, hurty activities. A real working dom/sub relationship. I loved this story and can’t wait for part 2!

Phew, Belle: Part 1 is hot!
Belle is embarking upon a 2 month arrangement with Dean on his tropical island. She's an escort he's wanted since he first saw her, and now he's to have her - for two months, every day but Sunday. Belle is new to the D/s thing, so she's learning the ins and outs. Dean is a Dom, but not quite the typical Dom. Sure, he's dominant and controlling, but he's got obvious vulnerabilities that I find intriguing, and unusual. So many of the latest in kink fiction feature unflappable, steel-strong Doms who seem to have no weaknesses or vulnerabilities. So for Liz Meldon to write one who has one vulnerability right off the bat is different, and much appreciated.
I really liked the way Belle and Dean's relationship is developing. They not only have an electric chemistry, but the emotional aspect is intriguing. It's obvious they're starting to develop feelings for each other by the end of part 1. I can't wait for part 2!

This was a pretty good read that I liked. Belle is a highly paid escort and Dean Donahue is a wealthy man who wants her to submit to him on a private island for two months. This was a good read that I liked. When these two settle into their D/s relationship hearts begin to get involved and feelings begin to grow. The sex between these two were hot this was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I had been missing me Liz Meldon's kind of kink.
Belle is an escort and is branching out into the Sub world. Her first real go at it will be a two month 'vacation' with Dean on his private island for $250K. She is both excited and scared to explore that side of herself. But she is scared she will break the #1 rule: never fall in love with a client. After the past months getting to know Dean and working on their contract, she has come to care for him already and that's without the sex and emotional/powerful relationship between a Dom and a Sub. She can't wait to have him as her Dom though.
Once they get to the island it's all fun and games until Belle starts breaking rules. First it's one she can work on with his help and then it's one that can break everything they have worked on.
Dean is a billionaire who is in desperate need of a break from his chaotic and stressful life, dealing with his d*ck brother's mistakes both in the workplace and his personal life. Dean has his demons and when Belle breaks an important house rule, she brings back old and painful memories that Dean reacts to without thinking and that just might cause him his Sub.
I'm looking forward to see how these two continue their relationship after breaking each other's trust. I'm excited to see how they will confess their feelings and work everything out.
I really enjoyed Belle. It was fun to see these two explore their relationship and the heat between them was unreal. But there were also a lot of sweet moments that really made me love Dean. I can't wait to get more of him.

Oh. My. Good. Lord. I’m not personally into BDSM but ... wow is Liz Meldon’s Belle ever so astoundingly, deliciously, wonderfully, hot. Addictive too. I’m reviewing both Part 1 and Part 2 of Belle even though they were published separately (as the first book, or first two books depending on how you count them, of the author’s Unbowed series). There’s just no way (nope, not at all) that I could have paused at the end of Part 1. It’s past 3am here. I’m going to pay for this tomorrow but I don’t care. Belle was just that good and sooo worth it. Yes, it’s a great explanation of how I imagine a good BDSM relationship should work, with mutual respect and trust, and lots of what’s ultimately truly consensual enjoyment. But this book goes so much beyond the dom/sub relationship with a plot and characters that are genuine and complex but also lots of fun. It does not matter what your own orientation is, if you want a great story this book is for you (though, trust me, you’ll be panting too as it is yummy hot). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - these two books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the combined Belle Parts 1&2 is (are) most definitely “one to read”, and it is easy to highly recommend the combined work. I’m definitely looking forward to the next duet of book launch in the Unbowed series. My only caveat is that I really do think that reading the two without stop is the best approach, do I might suggest buying duet book 1 when it comes out (as that usually when the price is best) and then waiting to start until having duet book 2 in hand. Luckily that’s not an issue anymore with Belle.

Belle is an escort at a BDSM club and while she hasn't been one for long she has caught the eye of Dean. Dean is a wealthy man who decides to take a two month vacation to his private island and wants to live out his BDSM fantasies with a sub. Belle agrees, they meet for coffee and discussion of what is to be expected prior to leaving but Belle is still nervous about what is going to be expected of her.
I'm not sure how to review this book because as a reader of various BDSM authors, I had a mindset going into this story that it didn't quite meet but was good in others. Belle is a bit of a conundrum for me. Belle works at a club, the author refers to her an "escort" which, unfortunately, translates into hooker for me, and is mentored by a Domme but she seems quite out of her depth with a Dom. It's not explicitly said that she has not scened with men but that is the feel I get. Dean is a straightforward Dom. He has his rules, punishments, and desires. Calm, collected, almost disconnected, he is living out his desires with a paid submissive.
Having not read this author before, I'm not sure that the abundance of inner monologues from the characters vs them interacting is due to this being the first in a three book series or if it is Ms. Meldon's style. The reader learns a lot of the character's motivations and fears, their wants, and needs with a sprinkling of BDSM scenes in between. The scenes are well done and on the tamer scale of harshness but still hot.
The last few chapters give readers more between the couple as their interactions become more intense leading to a pivotal event that could make or break their time together. The book ends on a cliffhanger with books 2 & 3 already published.

OMG how does this amazing author keep writing such wonderful reads of this magnitude, truly beautiful read from start to finish! I can’t wait to read the second part of the Unbowed series. Book 1 kept me rapt from the first page. I loved the dual POV of Belle and Dean’s planned, consensual vacation for 2 months on his private island. Belle has only worked as an escort at Elysium a kink haven for clients for 6 months. She is a newbie, but so wants to try being Dean’s submissive that she is being extremely well paid for.
Rule of an escort never fall in love with a client, as there will be no HEA for an escort. Did Belle have the professional distance she needed around Dean?
Dean wants to mold Belle as his first true submissive. Could Dean overcome his obsssional fear of flying for Belle? Can Belle stick to all his house rules? Rule 1 she has broken so many times with her jewel toned explosions, can she do better and truly be his Good Girl?
Was Belle Dean’s weakness as a Dom? Belle continually doubts her role as a true submissive, but is she in danger of giving Dean not only her submission but her soul? Had fate brought them together or is this just a well paid transaction for Them? The pull towards Dean terrifies her as she is so drawn to him! Now that Belle has learnt not to break Rule 1 why did she break the biggest punishment Rule 17 and will it be her downfall and will she use her safe Word?
This is truly one of the best reads of this genre I have read in a very long time and I highly recommend this well deserved 5 🌟book.

This is an enjoyable short story which is well written. The subject is one I always enjoy reading about, romance and a little light BDSM.
Dean Donahue is a client who is rich and has some unusual demands in the bedroom department. Belle is the escort whom he has chosen to be with him on his tropical island for two months, mostly all alone to do as he pleases, within the agreed rules of course. In this situation you get to see them as two entirely different people; he's confident and knows exactly what he wants, while Belle is not as confident as she makes out, she's nervous and doesn't know what she is getting herself into. She is a novice to all the dom/sub relationships but is intrigued to find out more about this lifestyle.
I enjoyed reading and getting to know each of these characters a little more, watching them develop and getting to know the ins and outs of their characters. As the story is told in a duel POV, I got to read what they were feeling and experiencing but, for me, the characters lacked that spark of chemistry you really need to pull a dom/sub story off. Overall it needed to be more intense, more passionate, Dean wasn't quite the normal dom that I'm used to reading about, he was much more passive than expected him to be. Belle was a little too complacent at times but I did enjoy when her mischievous side appeared.

Belle is the first part of the story of Belle and Dean. Belle works in Elysium, a fetish club where people can live their wildest fantasies in a judgment-free zone. When she started dabbling in the Dom-sub scene, she caught Dean’s eye and he requested her to be his sub for 2 interrupted months in his private island in the Caribean Sea… with certain rules stipulated by their lawyers and the owner of the club to maximize their time together and her safety. She had 6 months to prepare for her trip with several coffee dates with her Dominant so they could know each other. She is utterly afraid about this trip, being isolated from the rest of the world at his mercy when she doesn’t even know if she can be a good submissive and to top it all, she doesn’t know how to feel about this new dynamic.
I really liked the story, it was well written and it was nice to read both POV’s, you get to know how are they feeling with their relationship and their dynamic as a Dom-sub. I also enjoyed the steamy scenes, I’m fairly new to BDSM scenario and I really appreciated the way is portraited. I liked that the chapters tell you on which day are they, so you get an idea of the timeline. I ADORE Dean, he is a true alpha man and so endearing. I feel like this first month set the pace and bases for their feelings and dynamics I really want to know what’s going to happen next. The conflict felt a little bit forced to me, still, it is a good story so far and I’m eager to keep knowing this characters.

An amazing book. It took me by surprise that the book basically was about a Dom, Dean, and his submissive, Belle, learning to trust each other. Dean is a successful business person worth billions. However, he has a deep need to be in control, to dominate. He is known in the BDSM community as an excellent Dom. He hires Belle to be his submissive for two months on his exclusive island retreat. No outside world to interfere, no staff around daily and he would do all the cooking. Belle has been working at Elysium, a BDSM club in NYC for about a year. She initially started out acting out with clients that had a foot fetish. Out of curiosity started to act out BDSM scenes with her mentor and best friend Penny. Penny was a Domme and was training Belle in stage acting of a Dom and Sub. Belle had never had a private Dom until Dean requested, insisted on having her. Belle agreed to go with him for two months to his gorgeous island to be his sub for an extraordinary amount of money. Dean and Belle had no idea what would happen between them would change their lives forever. An excellent read on building true trust in a Dom/sub relationship. I look forward to part two. A wealthy man, a highly paid escort, and a straightforward contract with everything laid out in black and white. Should be simple enough, right? Except the lines get blurred, the rules get broken, and hearts aren't bound by contracts. The story is loosely reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast, including the forbidden area of the house, and broken down, it really isn't anything new - arranged Dom/Sub relationship, a bit of kink, reward and punishment, limits tested. It's all been done, but when you combine that with Meldon's draw you in and hang on tight writing style and characters that feel so real they practically leap off the page, it all somehow feels new. Belle and Dean's relationship may start out as an arrangement with strict BDSM guidelines, but as expected, it begins to develop into something more. This one takes us through those emotions, bit by bit, and makes us feel thngs - the anxiety, trepidation, trust formed and broken, the hurt, and the hope. It's all there, and this is just the beginning of their story. The ending is more open-ended than cliffhanger, but it certainly has this reader tapping her foot in anticipation for what comes next.

Talk about splitting hairs. Liz has stepped up her game and totally nailed this bad boy. A captivating tale hinging on broken trust, changing the dynamics of the game one scene at a time. I was hooked from the start and reeled in for the duration. You have your drama, action packed, fast paced, steamy with added flames and chemistry that only grow as the tale unfolds. The characters are complex, well developed and so realistic I felt I could just reach out and touch them. Their personalities are vast and varied with traits and qualities that balance out perfectly. She lays out every scene one step at a time which paints a remarkable backdrop with such realism that flows through this page turning dynamo. Liz shows off her style and talent as she wields her words as skillfully and precise as a surgeon with his scalpel. She is such an amazing author who can take an idea that's been done before but breathes new life throughout. I can't wait for the next part. I have no doubt it's going to be just as amazing. Okay, I'm throwing a tantrum at this moment, hating the fact that this was only book 1 that is continued in a book 2. But, I knew that going in so I have to try to wait patiently. I may just have to reread this one a couple of times in the meantime...

She gives a hint as to what is coming in book 2 and I can hardly wait.

👍 Up to Liz Meldon. This was such a Great book. I cannot wait to read and review part 2 and see what happens with Dean and Belle. I know Belle should not have broken Dean's, her "Dom", trust or rules about going up to the 3rd floor that was of limits.But then again Belle new the consequences for disobeying Dean's rules and that is to be severely punished. When Belle got her 10 lashes "over her window with she had to lean out of while punished" I wanted to cry for her. She then screamed at him to get out of her room and slammed the door in his face and cried. Dean realized what he had done and went and retrieved comforting things for her and also cocoa butter so he could put in on where he spanked her. I am glad they started talking again after Dean apologized numerous times.. if you want a sexy,steamy dom book then this is definitely going to be the one you want. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone and anyone I know.. Liz Nelson deserves a lot more than 5 stars for this.

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. Liz Meldon came on my radar when I saw a request to read Holiday Hell. I was trapped forever with The Hunt series. And now, her Belle series. Having just finished Book 1, I will have to wait for book two, and three, but with an island of sand grains of impatience. If you have never read a book by Liz, and are impatient, I will recommend my favorite, The Hunt series first, and then this trilogy. And, then, heck, everything else Ms. Meldon. Belle is in an interesting job. But, it helps pay the student loans, and gets her closer to her goals. She was interested in the lifestyle anyway. Dean has been a visitor to the club when he's in New York for business. Belle catches his eye for his planned vacation to his private island. Book 1 explores month one of their two month stay. Both characters are so well written. Liz has added depth, characters with flaws. Even billionaire Dean has issues. I cannot wait to follow them through their second month, and........

This is a romance story, of course, so the characters are going to cross the lines and develop feelings for each other. And this is also Part 1 of 2, so it ends without resolution. (Both Part 2 and the combined format version have already been published at the time of this review)
So what makes this book stand out? The writing, of course. The characters are well developed with realistic emotions and responses. And the writing is crisp and clean and it draws you into the story. Once you get started, particularly once the characters reach the island, the book becomes very hard to put down, so it is not necessary a good bedtime read. But make the time to read it whenever you can.
There is plenty of D/S and BDSM activities in this book, as well as some hot and steamy sex.
Highly recommended for fans of such things.

My first step into writing a review on BDSM book so here goes. If you have never read a BDSM book before or you are an avid reader 'Belle' won't disappoint.
The story between Dean and Belle is well written really get into why both want the pleasure of a Dom and Submissive - Dean needs the control that he can't always have while working within the family business and never being allowed to follow his one dream of painting - and Belle because deep down she needs the order that being a submissive can bring.
From the moment that Dean saw Belle at the club he wanted her there was something so innocent about her that pulled at Dean, although Belle worked at the club and did a few scenes she had never been anyones sub when Dean paid for Belle to spend 3 months on his island in the caribbean all bets were off follow Belle as Dean guides her into the world of being a good Sub.
But in the end who really comes out in charge the Dom or the Submissive.

Good story, very well written, with characters more complex than they appear. This part tells the first month of Belle with Dean. BDSM games are good, sometimes described after the action, but in the end it's not disturbing with the romantic history (maybe that's not what some readers will look for). Personally, I look forward to the continuation to know the outcome between their relationship, the problems of Dean with his family and the questions of Belle with herself.

Belle is a paid escort who agrees to spend time on an island with wealthy Dean Donahue. They have a contract on how things are to be while spending time together. Somehow the rules of the game are changed when both starting having feelings for each other.
This is my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this story. The plot is well written and I liked the H&H right the start. Also I read this book in one sitting because it held my interest. The only thing is I’m not a fan of books that leave the reader hanging for the next book to get the “rest of the story”. I do want to see how these two get their HEA, however.

This book is amazing!!! Love the characters, the story and the writing!
It's the first BDSM type book I've read that is completely and totally about the couple. They explore their own wishes and likes. Their dislikes and they have fun doing it. They enjoy each other and each other's time. They truly just take care of each other.
I think the premise of them being on an island all to themselves helps greatly. This sounds like it would be boring but there's just enough outside/side plot that makes it interesting. And the sex. HOT! HOT! HOT! My kindle was Smokin!
This is definitely a must read!

Was battling between 3 & 1/2 and 4 Stars... so I’m settling halfway between them.
This is no disrespect to the author and her writing. I have already contacted her and explained my thoughts. But since I received an arc to this, I think I owe Liz at least a review of this.
BDSM is not my thing. So don’t take my rating for how you decide whether to read this book or not. I may have totally misread the info about this book and missed that part. Although it wasn’t my thing to read about, I’m giving big ups to the author for the way she wrote this. Normally BDSM as I’ve heard about are usually super dark but this may be a lighter version than the norm... It wasn’t so dark as the sub had 6 months to prepare for the trip.

This book is SO GOOD! It is a BDSM romance and has a lot of kink but it also is just spicy and HOT!!! I absolutely loved Belle’s strength and innocence. Dean is powerful and sweet but so large and in charge.
This book had me staying up all night to finish the second half because it drew me in immediately and kept me wanting more the whole time. I cannot get over how the story just kept me wanting to read more and more with ever page! I NEED the next book now. I HAVE got to know what happens after that ending! It was shocking but happy and gave me so many emotions and all the feels!
