A Life Worth Living: What I Learned Along the Way

Rate this book
A Life Worth Living shares gripping stories from a man who loves Jesus, inviting others into the greatest life possible. Chuck Reinhold, a minister and long-time Young Life staff member, offers a grand view of his life and the principles he’s learned through his fifty plus years of ministry. Chuck’s influence on the Kingdom in the lives of adults and leaders cannot be overstated. He started ministries that have helped countless men and women meet Christ and grow in their faith―from ministry leaders like Joni Eareckson Tada to missionaries in Ethiopia to pastors, youth leaders, doctors, teachers, moms and dads. Starting in the early 2000’s, Chuck has faced memory obstacles. A Life Worth Living speaks to the power that scripture memory and time spent in God’s Word can bring to those obstacles. Chuck’s stories speak to the real struggles of those dealing with memory loss. Also, A Life Worth Living features principles anyone can use to further their Kingdom impact and demonstrate the impact one person’s faithfulness can have on so many.

This is a book you will return to often. There are so many principles for living our life for Christ. If you want to be a better spouse, employee, friend, then this is the book for you also. In this book you will find important ideas like remembering names, starting things on time, putting God's Word in your heart- not just your head...I could go on. I appreciated the writing style, Chuck's thoughts, memories from those he worked with and influenced and even a great appendix with sermons and talks from Chuck. Slow down as you read - there is much to absorb in this book.

I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t the greatest book ever or the most exciting, but it was sweet. How can you dislike a book that tells a bunch of stories of how a man changed peoples lives and that he did it because of his faith in Jesus? That’s a book worth reading! That’s all this book is. You want to read something sweet and uplifting? Read this book. It’s good, it’s not great. It’s full of wonderful stories, but it wasn’t overly inspiring.

What an incredible book. Chuck, Linda and family are an inspiration. They truly are living life to the full and have loved Christ and each other in all circumstances. So honored to have lived under Chucks leadership while on YL staff. Chucks 90 day time with the Lord daily challenge has impact my life and walk with the Lord. This past December 31st has been 8 years. Thank you so much Chuck for showing us what it means to love Christ and others!

Chuck Reinhold, a minster who spent time in the ministry of YoungLife's, A Life Worth Living is a fairly interesting book if it is for you. If it is not for you, you will most likely not enjoy your time with it. However, if you have ever had interaction with YoungLife in any capacity or if you want to read a memoir-esque book detailing one's growth in faith and missionary work I would recommend picking this up. I read this book as a part of YoungLife's leadership training program, and in that environment it was fairly insightful into the minstry.

A man who truly lives what he preached and truly cared about the people he mentored and taught. About as much of the book is written by those he impacted as is written by him but this just makes the reality of his impact even stronger when you read.
