The insight and the sense of humor is still great, which makes this volume somewhere between 4.2 to 4.5 stars.

Is graphic novel considered as a proper book/ reading? I reckon yes. At least with Shinya Shokudo. Set in a diner which open from midnight to 6am, the book tells the tales of its patrons and their everyday lives. They may look normal (or not) on the outside but they each have a story - some heartbreaking, some heart warming and some are just pure funny. Each story touches the heart, bringing a smile or a tear. So yes graphic novel is a proper read.
