Shelby V Painter is an author of Young Adult fiction from a small town in Alabama. She is an avid daydreamer and reader who sometimes prefers the realm of imagination over real life. When she is not busy writing, she is hard at work as a Preschool teacher where she has learned to sing every Disney song known to man. In her free time she can be found with her nose in a book or cuddled up on the couch with her family watching movies. She has been actively writing for Wattpad.com, where her works have gathered over a million reads and thousands of followers from all over the world. Two of her works, Because of a Girl Like Me, and Watered Down will be published exclusively this year with Tapas Media. It is Shelby's hope that through her writing, she can impact the lives of her readers and that her stories will stick with them long after they've finished the book.

Sounds like an emotional cheating story. Does he kiss the ow? Would love safety spoilers if anyone has it.

In book 1, the H pined for his beloved dead ex, and h was a clinger, but he said ily at the end.

In book 2 ( this book)
His beloved dead ex is back, was not dead after all, and it’s hard for him to choose who he loves more. 🙄 guess h is back to clinging.

“I don't know what we do now," he grits out. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do now. I love you and I loved her and now...god damn I don't fucking know." He turns back to me.

It is a surprise for me how much I like this series. Alyssa's dark past is beautifully built in this book, while the author keeps working with some incredibly difficult developments on the main character's relationships. The plot twist gets you on the edge, making you question yourself on the moral of some character's decisions.

Still has some cliches with some expected surprises but it has an edgy unpredictability that gets you reading it non-stop.

For someone who is not a fan of content with explicit violence, like abuse, self-harm, and suicide, I'm surprised to say I love all this in the book. It's perfectly written and makes you experience some of the dark scenes. The detailed emotions and horrors described in some of the scenes will give you tears and goosebumps. The sarcasm and dark humor of some of the spicy jokes thrown around the story is also one of the reasons I'm addicted to it.

The author did Stacey so dirty. Brought her back to life for the sole purpose of adding another book to the series and increasing ratings. This book is like a tacky CW show with shitty plotlines to get viewership.

Stacey should’ve stayed dead. Better than being raped for years thinking she’d get to come home to her fiancé, only to be cruelly replaced, forgotten, and discarded.

I can’t believe the author would take this route. So disgusting.

Absolutely stunning. Have read this series every year since it came out and I will never get tired of it. The characterization of Alyssa? Perfect. Her tragic past told through flashbacks interlaced with the current plot is done beautifully. She doesn’t NEED our leading man, he simply adds to her strength and that’s what I love the most. Alyssa is a kickass heroine and anyone that begs to differ can fight me.

Alyssa was less interesting this book and didn't have nearly as much growth. Still interesting enough ending to move onto book three.
