Read the exciting conclusion...
A ROGUE STAR DRAGGED US AWAY FROM THE SUN AND UNLEASHED A NEW ICE AGE; WE ARE COLD, HUNGRY, AND DESPERATE
Earth is divided: humanity resides in the frozen wastes, while the invading alien machines, dubbed Screechers, occupy the habitable regions--and they have built a wall to keep us out. This is our new world.

Logan Willis and his family are hiding safely in Haven, an underwater colony designed by billionaire Akron Massey to be his private shelter. But Logan's son, Alex, didn't make it. Logan is desperate to get out and find him, but Haven is in the middle of Screecher territory, and leaving could expose the colony to discovery.

Meanwhile, OneZero, a friendly Screecher locked in Haven's brig, also wants to get out, and so does Akron Massey, who plans to build another rocket from the Mars mission prototype and use it to join his family on the red planet.

Together these three must find a way to leave Haven and accomplish their goals, but the world they left is not the one they are returning to: secrets and hidden agendas abound as divergent groups vie for power on both sides of the border wall. With humanity’s fate hanging in the balance, Logan is determined to find out the truth before it’s too late.

I'm beginning to realize that it doesn't matter what genre a book is written in, it's the relationships and interactions of the characters that make a great story. Here we have a Sci-Fi book and there are no Ray Guns, Lasar Cannons, Plasma Beams, Photon Bombs, and the other common elements found in the majority of Sci-Fi books. There is plenty of advanced technology here but it doesn't try to overwhelm you.
One of the main characters is a Humanoid Alien with Artificial Intelligence abilities and apparently emotions. We eventually learn she formerly had biological ancestors that had her consciousness was transplanted into this non-biological being. And, she hopes to return to that form if she proves herself worthy. Given this human-like characteristics, we're beginning to wonder if she's trustworthy or has a hidden agenda.
This is one of those stories that every time you think you've figured it out and know who the Good and Bad Guys are, you don't. At times the action will have you exhausted. This is not a book you want to read before bedtime. Even if you're able to put it down (doubtful), your mind will still be working on upcoming problems.
The only thing I didn't like about this two-book series is that it seems to end. There are no cliff-hangers needing to be resolved and the major issues have been resolved. It feels like I've made some new friends and they're about to move away. I really hope the author finds some way to keep this story going. I want more. Perhaps this is like good vacations, they should end before you want them too.

Logan’s journey comes to an explosive conclusion amid Earth's frightening chaos in this last book of the series. If you can put this book down you're stronger than I. I did not sleep last night.
A masterfully written easy read. When I came to the end of one book I was eagerly ready to plow into the next. Mr. Scott is a powerful storyteller using literary art in the telling. Thank the muses he is also prolific and does not make us wait an interminable time for the next book. I believe this is my very favorite Jasper Scott series. Logan is so real, I feel as though he must be one of my old school mates.
Where are the ‘Screacher’ cities? What is this technology that allows them to preserve their complete minds and values indefinitely? How does a native of earth fit into the new reality of cold, limited essential resources, strange predatory plants and animals, and subjugation to the brutal new invader? Will the new Earth see the human race become nothing more than manipulated shells controlled by these beings? Will mankind even survive?
Logan’s journey comes to a conclusion in this frightening chaos that has become his life. What he does and how he reacts will affect his future, and that of his family, permanently and profoundly.

Logan his heart was in the right place but did everything totally wrong he looses his job, finds his wife doing it with the neighbor and the the earth is invaded and a rogue star makes matter worse. You have to give him a nod for trying but always making the wrong call and getting people or someone killed. To be up front he parnoid well I say he has PTSD with all the crap who would not. Beside his family and brother-in-law all he has is alien named 1-0 and near the end a cat. in his world you see how the invaders bring creatures from other planets to help hunt human down and kill. Then you see The Passive Aliens like 1-0 who trying to help but they can not explain everything that they are doing to Logan. They have underground cities were they are working with some human to overthrow the government who is killing what they say are outsiders.
And finally Logan gives the ultimate sacrifice to try to undo all the wrong he done he has 1-0 transfer his conscience mind into a robot so he can help plant a virus in the hive of the main enemy the who invader earth and set up the new government and made all the rules on how people are to treated or killed. in the end he can not go back to his body due to it being destroyed so he has to stay in the robot form and in doing this he help lead to a new world were Humans and Aliens build new world and a government for the US,
To be honest these two audibles are great but you must be ready for a ride of your life through most of the audibles you seeing life through Logans eyes.

A lot of packaging

I enjoyed the first book in the series but didn’t love it. The story was unique enough and the pacing sufficiently brisk for me to read it quickly and be curious to read more. The sequel however I didn’t feel followed too well. The author has an incredible imagination and within this story one is thrown from one situation to the next without any real sense of purpose. After an hour one has read so many encounters that the protagonist has be trussed into, that it hard to keep it all straight. Through all the twists ands turns in the plot the ending was very unsatisfying.

If you read part 1 and you are curious about what happens next, this book will be read quickly although you may be left feeling a little flat. If on the other hand you don’t chose to follow on, you have missed little.

The last half of the 1st book was gripping, but it took a bit for this one to get going. The continuous bad luck and improbable problems continued non stop though. I still liked this book, not quite as well as the first. I think it was the characters were getting a little strange, which certainly could happen during a human ending change of orbit for Earth.
The ending seemed a bit abrupt, and a bit confusing to me. Though it was a good ending, it did leave a loose end or 2, IMHO.
Probably the thing that bothered me the most was, in my copy, on a Kindle, the fonts and text spacing would be different on the same page, for no apparent reason. Some might be double spaced, some crammed really close together, a few paragraphs were in smaller font. It was weird.
Interesting story line.

New worlds is fast paced but at a higher velocity than Frozen Earth. We know that Logan wants to leave Haven to search for his son Alex and it takes some time before he is able to convince the mayor of Haven to do so, it at what cost? He sets off leaving behind his wife and daughter with the knowledge that searching for Alex may never work and he may end up never seeing any of his family aside from brother in law Richard. He is relying on Billionaire Akron and Screecher One-Zero who both want to get to Mars ASAP.

Along their opening journey, they are stalked and almost killed by alien predators which seem to simply vanish once they are passed the Screecher border. But as we’ve learned in Frozen Earth, there are two factions of Screechers and One-Zero claims to be from the passive side known as the Collectivists. To which she claims to be apart of and that the Collectivists are working with the surviving humans to well, survive. However, Logan overhears One-Zero’s conversation with another of the Collectivists and is not sure what to believe or the he trusts her and her people at all.

Once they reach their destination of Memphis, they learn that the US is definitely what it used to be. In this new military state, your every movement can be tracked via the bracket and with the dollar being eliminated for credits, no one really can earn enough to survive. But the government is there to hand out rations which is meager but be careful, illegals are pouring in and are very intrusive since you cannot get rations.

Logan is able to locate Alex via the government tracking but when he learns of his situation, he does all he can to help but not without the loss of human lives. This seems to be an all to common attribute of Logan, rushing in, not thinking it through and almost destroying the world and all the he loves.

Good story

I have read the first two books in this series. What makes it interesting is its apocalyptic story lines where civilization has crashed and once peaceful people learn to protect their families and themselves. The lead character prefers not to kill but will as the circumstances forces action. The people in the story react differently, some are more violent than others.

The plotline shows the mixture of reactions and the lead character, Logan, goes through trying to trust and having doubts that cause him to make poor choices. Logan does one up to his bad choices and tried to rectify the mistakes.

Apocalyptic literature has interesting effects on people in a way to show hope when everything goes bad. This hope reminds people that no matter how bad things get, there is always journey to get beyond the events and the future can be better if one works to help make so.

A story of people like ourselves overcoming the most difficult situations, A book you can't put down, by the veritable master of twisting tales today,
Logans' goal is to find his missing son if he's not been killed already, to survive and return to his wife and daughter, The only difficulty is that there's been an alien invasion They won the war,and now have their own 5th column, Their sea creatures that a great white would prefer to never meet and it's cold icy bone-numbing cold, Freezing to death is not an option, Join with Logans' group and experience the convoluted adventures of the most unlikely micro army, Jasper T Scott has brought the end to this tale in an unsuspecting and gratifying manner again, Don't get left out in the cold, I wholeheartedly recommend it,

The sequel to Rogue Star: Frozen Earth… Logan Willis and a few friends come out from hiding to brave the new, frozen America (now known as “Unity”) and find his missing son. The first two-thirds of the book is nonstop, tedious, chaotic action-action-action. Where are they and what are they doing? Who cares! Because GUNS!!!! While our heroes don’t suffer from the infinite-ammo trope, all they have to do is rest for a few hours and their firearms are refilled. 🤪

I almost quit reading several times. But eventually, a shaky story emerged and, thanks to the humans’ stupid decision-making and inability to stop and think, things happened to finally move us to the end of the tale. Still confusing and implausible, but hey, what else do you expect from alien invasion apacolyptic literature?

The best way I can describe this book is; WOW! WOW! and WOW! This was book two of a two book series, and it was so amazing. At times, there was so much going on that it was a little hard to follow, but talk about exciting. These two books where so great, that I will most likely want to read them again. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Sci-Fi. Scott is such an amazing writer with such a great imagination. I can't get over where he comes up with these stories, but I'm sure glad he does. My goal is to read everyone of his Sci-Fi books, and I'm half way there. I have never been disappointed yet.

Well my review for the first book didn't glow, I enjoyed it but wasn't sure. The second book on the other Han I enjoyed immensely! It was fast paced, thrilling and once we left hi wife and daughter begin I feel we got to know our main man better. He remained true to his ways, misguided maybe but I liked that he only ever had some information and like in a real situation, as people do do he knee jerk reacts to it.
I enjoyed the more elaborate sci do aspect to the story also.
With the introduction of the first book and the culmination of the second this makes for a great read!

The lines are drawn, sides are chosen and family is reunited once again. Rogue Star continues in New Worlds where  the earth is becoming a frozen wasteland and the enemy invaders are replacing key people high up in the human government with cloned copies in order to help them take over. I myself, liked Frozen Earth better then New Worlds as the feel of it was completely different, however the plot does thicken and there is a nice little surprise at the end. I am very eager looking forward to the next book to see how it all turns out.

Jasper T Scott's best story so far

This series, and this book in particular, are probably the best works written by Jasper T Scott to date. If you enjoyed Dark Space (or like me wanted a bit more from that series), definitely give this new series a whirl. His best writing, characters, and story, I'm looking forward to the next book in this one - and I'm certain I have no idea where it'll end up.

I must say i really enjoyed this book, it was very well written a brilliant imaginative story that really built up to a brilliant very clever ending. I dont like to give a in depth review, theres plenty of them to be read ....all i will say it is worth a read if Sci-Fi is your thing !.......saying that i will say that the main charachter in this story is either very unlucky or just completely stupid ! ...its up to you to decide.......personally i think he is very very stupid ;-).

Like the first one in the series, this is a fast-moving story, this time focusing on Logan’s attempts to find his son and on the amazing technology of the robotic Screechers who have invaded Earth. Logan, his wife and daughter are living in a hidden underwater city, but his son was left behind. Logan especially is a very believable character with many choices to make. Some of those get him into desparate situations. The wrap-up is far-fetched, but after all the twists and turns, why not?

So… After reading the first… I really wanted to find what happens to my characters. To me, this was a very realistic form of alien invasion with some common reactions on what to do and how to do it.
I loved the twists and turns the story takes. I really loved Jasper’s way of describing the invasion and why it’s happening. I feel that he gives us an insight to what, how and why we would react in certain circumstances.

Very fast paced, scifi about a dystopian world, and how the main character Logan navigates the new world. The title should be Job, a comedy of justine in a cold strage world, with Logan's name being Job. Logan made every wrong choice based on every misunderstood event. It drove me crazy. But i enjoyed being on the ride of this fast paced adventure. It was a fun book to read about aliens, rogue planets, our own earthly beings, and a mystery of what in the world is really happening.

The story picks up after 6 months and Logan is still trying to find away to leave haven and search for his son.
This story draws you in as Logan faces one desperate situation after another in his search. Logan is a very believable character who just wants keep his family safe. Making some bad decisions along the way. This is a real page turner and keep me gripped unable to put it down.

Great reading

I like how the author kept the momentum of the story always moving & interesting. Also for a sequel it was still surprisingly fresh & kept my attention, as sometimes with a 2nd book the writing suffers, but not with this author. I look forward to reading his other books!

Another hit From Jasper Scott
I read this page-turner later in the night than I should have, but I wanted to see where the tale would lead me. So many twists and turns to this one. I lost some sleep but I enjoyed the experience.

Not sure what to say

The first book was difficult story to follow, sort of a SciFi soap opera. This a hitech scfi soap opera. I was not captivated hanging on every chapter. More wishing it would end. Sorry but this was well written, just not my cup of tea.

Another super book by an amazing author. This 2 book series starts off well and ends even better. Lots of fantastic twists and turns. 2 books doesn’t feel enough but it ends well. Excited about more books from the same author.

That first encounter

When that first encounter with another race occurs, will it be violent? Peaceful? How will it change is and them? This book tried to explore some of those questions.

Good read

The first book started a little slow while the characters were developing. The author did very well portraying what life might be like from government coverup, impending doom, breakdown of civilization, along with man’s desire to survive.
