For years, my family was in possession of the top half of an ancient sword. Now this dangerous artifact has been stolen and it’s up to me to recover it. With the help of my friends, I must follow the trail of clues to find both halves of the sword before they can be reforged. When my investigation leads me to an Elvis-impersonating vampire, a magic carpet lizard, and a homicidal banshee with no regard for the Fountains of Bellagio, I know I’m in for a rough ride.
My magic is the only thing that stands between absolute power and preservation. Can I prevent history from recurring or are we doomed to repeat it?

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
This series is truly entertaining. I look forward to learning the background for all 4 girls and hope you give us stories of their adventures after graduation. PS. I still need Spellbound & Starry Hollow to continue, I miss the characters. It's another wonderful paranormal world!!
Dani has to try to find an artifact for her aunt. There are several times her use of magic worried me. Peter is a sweet guy. I wish Dani wouldn't be so judgemental about his career. He's not doing anything bad. I think Dani has a long and stressful road ahead of her. She already let's her magic take control. I think she's a bigger threat than Bryn.
I would love giving this book a 5 stars but Dani was a little annoying with being the best! She lets her family lead her path to bring the family honored back. They put so much on her. She was to much of a robot and afraid to show her feeling unless it anger or being stubborn! She has a hard time letting her friends help too. I understand she was a lone wolf growing up but now she has great friends who cares about her. When people keep telling you the same things about your magic she should taken the advice and listen. No one can be the best in everything but she thinks she should! That her biggest problem! I like Bryn better but only because Dani come across conceded! I hope she will grow up in the next book. I’m planning to get the next book. I really like the author and enjoy her books! So why don’t you give her a try!
And extraordinary tale. A great cast of characters all blended into an exciting series of books with four which is going to spellbinders academy to learn how to be guardians of the world. And urban fantasy world that is intermixed between multiple series. Follow along on the adventures of each one of the witches as they learn how to develop their powers and go on individual personal missions as well as training missions. They solve the mystery’s or the crimes and the reader is fully entertained. They travel to some of the worlds and locations that the offers other books are based in. One big world mini magical locations as well as mundane human locations. You will not be disappointed check them all out
.. is to recover the half sword stolen from her aunt's house. Dani's upset that her aunt has hidden family relics and antiques from her sister and is living a life of luxury without any consideration to how her choice to do so has made it even harder for Dani's family. But when she works out the power the sword will give it's wielder when it's reunited with its missing half she knows that she needs to act.
Dani's also fighting an inward battle with her magic, each time she uses her power she wrestles the urge to let it go free, her desire to use more becomes harder to resist and the fear of becoming just like her grandmother lessens as she tells herself they are not the same.. but when the mission is coming to a climax which path will Dani chose?
Another exciting mystery adventure with Dani and Peter. I just wished that Dani was a little less over the top, self involved, and beyond high self esteem. It's great to be confident but her "I am so perfect" "I am the definition of overachiever" can be too much. I love how much she cares for others but I wish she would tone it down. I can see that she is growing and evolving so I have hope for her and Peter, even though he is painted as a bit of a bad boy, is actually a grounding force for her.
Obsession is a funny thing. The Degraff family is obsessed with their history and reputation, except for Grandma who was obsessed with magic. Unfortunately, she tried to make Dani in her image, to make her seek the same goals.
But Dani is more focused on restoring the family’s status and reputation than eating all the magic, all the time. And that’s why she has conflict and a choice to make. Because eating all the magic, all the time is hunting her…
I love following the quirky characters in this authors books. Peter is concerning with his chosen career, but it's nice to see he has standards. This may be a spoiler so stop if you don't want to know: I'm worried at the draw Dani is starting to feel for her magic. It seems to be approaching a level that will put it out of her control.
Dani, you are stressing me out there, ma'am. Fortunately, I'm not the only one, and you've got a good group of friends who have your back. There is a fun adventure into the world as we know it in this book, which was an enjoyable touch. Despite the outcome of the case, I'm a little nervous for Dani on a personal level, so we'll see how this goes in her third book.
Only a 3 star ….not a big fan of Dani and her 'I always have to be the best' attitude. And the plot was all over the place…not just physically, either. I seriously thought about putting it down halfway through but the other characters kept it interesting, especially Peter! Will finish the trilogy just to see how he uses his charms❤️
Dani is still fighting herself and trying to work together with her friends to figure it out. An ancient artifact is stolen from a family member and the fun begins. Dani is self confident about what she knows and very aware of what she doesn’t but she is learning to work with others even, when she doesn’t want to.
Peter, and the roomies help and this one has a lot of fun parts!
Annabel Chase is one author that I recommend highly. She keeps you into the story from the beginning to the end. You should start with Warren of the West. That way you meet the characters in the right order.
I really enjoy the humor and interactions between the characters. Dani is beginning to struggle with the pull of the magic, but luckily she has Peter and her friends to bring her back from the brink when necessary.
Dani and Peter go on an adventure to retrieve a missing artifact that was stolen from Dani's aunt's home. Turns out the sword half, when combined with its other half gives the owner the power over life and death.
Dani's aunt contacts her. She has had an artifact stolen, a 1/2 of a sword, and wants Dani to find it. It turns out if both pieces of the sword are forged together, it will give the owner the power of life and death. Can Dani, Peter, and her friends stop the thief from united the pieces?
#fullmoonfanclub #underhyped Sadly this book struggled to keep my attention and I honestly could not pinpoint the plot😢. For some reason, the characters just didn’t engage me or entertain me as much as the other books.
3.5 would be a solid 4 if I weren't still having trouble with the MC's attitude and hypocrisy spoiling a really good story for me. I think she shows some growth towards the end but I will have to see where the next book goes with her development.
Some nice touches if humour and light romance. A theft and adventure to recover the artefact provides a good backdrop to Dani growing her powers and character
I guess Dani’s character is growing on me more… I still look forward to seeing more interactions between all the girls than just Dani by herself; but that is just my personal preference. Book was still good.
Loved it. Found myself reluctant to put the book down. I have to admit that some of the twists were easily seen, but others completely blind sided me. Good reads.
This was not my favorite book. It was very slow to get going or get anywhere. I was very sad this book failed to hold up to what it’s counterparts have done
