I am a complete sucker for Dragon shifter books and I absolutely loved Once Upon a Dragon! Such a great take on Dragons and their mates. I loved the budding romance between Kai and Jules. And of course, the whole "save the race" concept too!

In typical Selena Kitt style, Once Upon a Dragon is a compelling, sexy romance! A must read for paranormal lovers. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Jules runs a horse farm in wolf shifter country, and she's having trouble making ends meet. Cass Wilde, the local matchmaker, introduces her to Kai, a billionaire investor who offers his help, but Jules is stubborn about accepting. But Kai, a dragon shifter unable to shift anymore, knows that Jules is special and is persistent about helping. Their business relationship turns romantic while Kai struggles with how to tell Jules that he's immortal, and that one day she'll die and he'll live on without her. Before they can work out this difference though, Nigel, an ancient adversary and necromancer begins causing trouble and kidnaps Jules, using her as bait for Kai's dragon.

This was a pretty decent and comprehensive little story. I liked the relationship between Kai and Jules and how there was just the right amount of UST and angst between them and how Jules and her relationship to Stuart was a source of growth for her. The beginning of this story has a strong focus on Kai and Jules and establishing their relationship. So when the focus suddenly switches to Nigel the necromancer, it's kind of an abrupt change of pacing and then all of a sudden the story is over and we have the HEA. I wonder if maybe Nigel had been incorporated a bit earlier on and the action had been intertwined with the relationship stuff, if this wouldn't have felt like such a startling shift. This was still an enjoyable read and I feel like I might have to go back and re-read those Wulver stories to see how this one connects to it.

I’m a sucker for a dragon. Make him noble, self-sacrificing, and tortured, and I’m going to ask: “where do I sign up?” This description fits Kai to a ‘T’, he just doesn’t think he’s self-sacrificing anymore. After the tragic events of his past, he does nothing for free. And that includes acting as financial advisor to Jules’s equine therapy ranch. Jules doesn’t have anyone left in the world that she can call her own. But she has good friends, including the Wilde pack where mama Cass has been trying to set her up with Kai forever. As mysteries go, this wasn’t terribly mysterious, and I really enjoyed seeing Kai kick himself for missing the clues that were laid out. It’s as a paranormal romance that this book really shines. I could feel how strong the ties between Jules and Kai are in every scene with them. The history and magic simmer just below the surface until they come boiling out. And the passion this pair ignites just about melted my reader. I didn’t get the opportunity to read this story in it’s first incarnation, but I wanted to. Badly. I’m so glad I read it this time around.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Jules and Kai. Jules is just a horsewoman as far as she knows. She doesn't know what she will do about the farm she knows she is barely getting by but she is determined to make it. However when Cass tries to set her up with Kai she knows she's in for trouble. Kai doesn't know what to make of this woman but he knows she needs help. He just wishes he could figure out a way to get her to understand he wants to help her no strings attached. Well maybe some but they can get to that later after they have fixed the problems with the ranch. Can these two find a HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?

This is an amazing story. It does have its ups and downs that I could really like to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This is one of my favorite author's to read and she did a really great job in writing this paranormal romance. Its steamy hot plus has a great storyline and great characters to read about , plus its so steamy hot between Kia and Jule's.*Spoiler's Tag* So Kia is an immortal dragon shifter that can't shift anymore,after fighting to kill a wizard over a thousands years ago,plus he lost his dragon rider/mate at the same time.But after meeting Jule's he feels like he's meet her before and they each fall in love with each other and feel the same way like they have know each other longer.Then weird thing stat to happen .And cause what the wizard is loose and looking to control Kia's dragon and getting Nia back for locking I'm up all these years.Jules is Nia ,re born again. So if you want to find out more get the book its a great story.

I am in for a good shifter story especially a dragon shifter story.

Jules has trouble keeping her head above water with the horse therapy ranch she owns.
Her friend Cassie tries to help her with suggestion a friend to help her, but Jules knows Cassie is a matchmaker.
But one night in the bar she does meet Kai after all and he is hot, really hot!
The next day he visits her with some kittens and offers her help.

At dinner he gives her plan an she accepts it, because she needs help.
She also sees Kai more and more and their feelings for each other get stronger.
But Kai has a secret, he is a dragon shifter who can't shift anymore.

Kai his old enemy is showing up trying to kill him for real this time, but he didn't count on Jules.

Great read! If you are into a hot shifter story with an evil enemy in it, this is your story

A great story that keep me interested till the end. The chemisty between Kia and Jules is steamy. Kia just wanted to be left alone in peace. He had lost the love of his life over a thousand years agon and knew he would never find the one to bring his dragon to the surface. He hasn't been able to shift since so when he met Jules he started to feel things that he hadn't felt in a long time. Jules was a human working on her ranch with her horses helping people and living in a town of wolf shifteres. Her friend Cass knew that these two were destined to meet and fall in love and relase the dragon within him. She knew this was her most important match as it was going to save them and the whole town or maybe everyone.

This is a very entertaining paranormal romance novella. Kai is an ancient dragon shifter whose immediate and intense reaction to Jules when they first meet is one he’s hard pressed to understand. A sweet and steamy romance soon blossoms between them – one with a deep feeling of connection, as if they’d known each other forever. When danger arrives in the form of an arch enemy, Kai enlists his wolf shifter allies to help with the coming battle. If the age-old dragon legends are to be believed, Jules has an important role to play as well. Is Kai willing to gamble though on an unclear outcome that might put Jules at risk? The story is well written with interesting characters and features some dark magic, mystery, intrigue, shifter action and several steamy scenes.

This book was so good! I highly recommend it. Though, you may wish to be a dragon or Firebourne afterwards, I know I did.

Kai had closed off his heart when his rider turned mortal, but due to some financial issues Jules had at her ranch, he found in his heart to open it to love once again. Jules wanted nothing to do with the set-up Cass tricked her into, but one glance at Kai changed her mind, though she fought it. Fate had a different plan for them both, though they didn’t know it.

When a necromancer comes back from Kai’s past, he brings with him death and destruction. It’s up to Kai and Jules to save each other and the wolf shifters that help them.

Jules and Kai were meant to be together and throughout everything they did, they held fast and loved strongly.

I love all of Selena Kitt’s stories no matter what she writes I enjoy immensely and that’s including this story Once Upon a Dragon. This is the story of Jules and Kai, Kai is a billionaire dragon shifter but he can’t shift since he had a spell put on him over a thousand years ago. Jules owns a therapy horse ranch that’s in trouble of closing down, one night she’s in a bar waiting for a friend but he doesn’t turn up. Jules meets Kai in the bar he goes over to her and they get to know each other then Kai asks Jules out for dinner, when she’s slow dancing with Kai at his place she see’s two people looking in the window which makes her scream. I loved this story Jules and Kai have fantastic chemistry I really enjoyed reading about both of them. A fantastic paranormal shifter romance a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

She introduces Jules to Kai, who she calls an accountant. Jules is a hard headed woman who wants to do things on her own, she's so independent. Then she finds out from her friend Stuart what happened to her parents the day they died. Kai and Jules are drawn to each other. For Kai it can be a future hurt because of being a dragon. What will Jules do when she finds out?
Love stories that deal with matchmaking. This one is a beautiful one to read.

This book was pure awesomeness! It had a story line that kept moving at just the right pace, with enough action and drama to be entertaining, but not so much that you end up rolling your eyes because the author threw in something else to just add words. Nope, every word was necessary and perfect for the story. The main characters made sense together, and supporting characters helped make the story. I really appreciated that Jules and Kai were not written as insta-love. And while I saw where the story was heading, I sure did not anticipate all the things that were going to happen along the way there. This was just an extremely enjoyable read.

Jules friend Cass keeps trying to set her up and this time it is financial adviser Kai.
When Jules meets the retired financial adviser that Cass has been trying to set her up with she is surprised with how young he looks. Once he meets her he persists and she gradually warms to him until they get close. Kai is afraid to tell Jules the truth that he is an immortal dragon shifter who due to a necromancer is unable to shift and that she is a decedent from his mate of that time plus is the reincarnation of that mate. Strange thing start to happen around them but they are unaware the an evil from the past has returned. A shifter romance to relax and enjoy.

I love read paranormal romances especially when there are shifters involved and then to top it a dragon shifter makes this even better. This is a Nobel, torched and self sacrificing making it an even better read. Kia in the past has suffered a tragic event and due to this he does not believe in doing anything for nothing and that included a being a financial adviser to a equine therapy ranch run by Jule’s. She is very much on her own family size but with Mamma Cas around trying to set her up with Kia for something she feels at least some sense of family. The chemistry and heat between these two is so good. So worth reading.

Kai is dragon shifter... sorta. He has been unable to shift ever since his dragon heart had been stolen from him when he was trying to protect the love of his life. Kai was just trying to live his life and maintain his status as a recluse. Unfortunately fate had another idea in mind for him. Cass, a matchmaker has got it into her mind that Kai and Jules would be a perfect match for each other, and in that regard Cass was right.
The story of Jules and Kai is one that is full of love and a strong connection between them. The book was a steamy read with a HEA for the two of them... and the whole dragon race.

Fast, easy, steamy read. It was great to see Jules character evolution. I did not like the way Kai went about things though, I know it's fictional character and all, but I don't like reading about characters being shady, even if it's "for the good". While it was an entertaining read I thought the actual story arc was rushed, it got more than halfway through with hints of the plot moving forward (plot development is different than relationship development in this case), and then everything happened so fast I thought it was poorly explained/fleshed out, and it had the making of a really great twist/resolution which became predictable and again, extremely rushed.

Thoroughly entertaining! A lovely paranormal romance with enough action to keep you entertained between the emotion.

Ms Kitt doesn’t disappoint romantics, paranormal fanatics, or followers of her work; this book is a well written piece of entertainment. With charismatic characters and a wonderful setting, this is certainly a great way to escape into the written word.

A highly recommended book, suitable for anyone who likes the sound of the book’s description, or paranormal romantics wanting to submerge themselves into something superbly pleasing.

Loved this book. Jules has to deal with heart break and she does so by trying to run her parent’s ranch after their untimely death. Unfortunately it isn’t going very well but she refuses to accept anyone’s help until Kai makes her a proposition she can’t turn down. Shifters galore in this one. You definitely need to pick this up to see how Jules and Kai fall in love. Do they live happily ever after or does the Necromancer get them in the end?

I Highly Recommend this book for OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT. This storyline kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat. It's full of mystery and action packed. Jules owns a ranch outside of Wolfhaven and is friends with Stuart. He seems to take advantage of her and their friendship.
Cass Wilde the owner of Full Moon Bar knows that Stuart is no good for Jules and he is draining her financially. So Cass decides to play matchmaker and hook her up with Kai.

Wow, this story was awesome. I love how Jules is so human with strength to make it on her own yet still being vulnerable with helping someone she shouldn't. She has a big heart and helps those in need, but doesn't accept help from others. Kai is a bit Dragon shifter who can't shift. But they click. Add in a psycho necromancer, and you have a gr8story. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up

He looses his dragon heart so many years ago and hasn't wanted much to do with life since. Well in comes a woman who runs a therapeutic horse ranch. The get matched up and guess what she has and doesn't know it. The wizard he lost his dragon heart to all them years ago is back and what he needs to stop him she has. It's not very often I give 5 stars, only when a story is very special. Once Upon a Dragon is. Kai is the embodiment of the hero every woman longs for. Jules is stubborn and can take care of herself, but ultimately admits she can use help. A story of magic and destined mates. A love that transcends time. Pick this book up and fall in love with Kai and Jules.

Well written shifter romance that stands the test of time

This was an awesome story and my first paranormal read by Selena Kitt. I will be looking for more as this was well written, intense, steamy and full of a fabulous depth that kept me hooked. Kai and Jules had great chemistry and I loved the side characters as well. Dragons, bad guys, wolves, drama, tragedy and love - it had it all. Well done, Ms. Kitt!

This is a well written dragon shifter romance between Kai and Jules. Their characters are strong and their chemistry is flaming hot. I loved the story line and watching the sparks fly between the two until it flares into a passionate and beautiful love. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading it.

This had an unpredictable twist that explained so much in the story.

I loved the conflict and characters. The characters had just enough backstory to seem like they had a life before what was on the pages.

Kai while having different issue with being a shifter, the reason why he has it is even more unique.

when is a shifter not a shifter ?

If a shifter cant shift is he or she still a shifter ? A very different story with dragons , broke ranchers, friends who betray , and lots of cute characters. This story contains everything from cute kids and kittens to a zombie apocalypse Not a bedtime story if you are of a nervous disposition but one that will keep you guessing to the end
